People hoped for a split timeline theory, not the overwriting the future theory. That way Jack can kill Aku in the future and his allies can live in peace and then go back and save his people from Aku.

This idea should have been done by anyone else who isn't CN and Genndy. Genndy has some decent ideas for choreography, atmosphere, directing, but nothing compared to the raw talent of a movie director.

Then there's the writing, art style and budget which undermines the whole idea.
