real talk this was probably the best propaganda ever. growing up in a Christian household was full of shitty Christian rock and tv shows, but I actually have fond memories of this show

I'm agnostic and I love Veggietales. It was never overly preachy and had a lot of legitimate talent behind it. I loved the Jonah movie something fierce, and I was in high school when that came out.

Not even Satan himself can resist.
I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
the thing that makes VeggieTales better than all other Christian cartoons is that it could actually hold its own as a cartoon
The Family Guy team could learn a thing or two from them on referencing and parodying pop culture.
Lyle the Kindly Viking was my cutoff point, after which the show started feeling too different to really enjoy watching anymore.
I'm raised Christian and from a young age these guys did nothing but horrify me on a visceral level or annoy me.
I found the voice acting to be excruciating as a kid which is why it was annoying to me. When they sang it only got worse and the "silly" aspects were overshadowed by why I found them scary:
As a little kid I thought a world where vegetables and fruit are the apex life-form meant that Humans were completely swapped with the plants. People, in my head, grew on vines and trees as soulless bodies. The giant mouthed main characters would then messily eat the bodies. Parents in this world would have to force their children to eat Nerds or they wouldn't get any Cheerleaders.
I would tell that to every kid I met through the church. Thankfully it tended to make more friends who found me kooky than enemies.
But I meant my fear. Those wide soulless cgi knockoff Sonic the Hedgehog eyes genuinely unnerve me. When Drawn Together parodied and subsequentially brutally murdered them I laughed more hard than I had in a while.
This. Quality, charm and humor = good entertainment.
The Christian stuff is just a cherry on top. It's like when you take a non-Christian friend or relative to a really good, uplifting sermon. They probably won't be converted because of it, but it made a very good case for the faith and didn't waste their time.
What are some characters that can defeat Larryboy?
Professor Chaos. His only weakness is being grounded.
You're gonna love his nuts.

PIZZA ANGEL PLEASE COME TO ME
Pretty much, it's just a good cartoon that happens to be Christian, not propping up subpar content just to push a message.
>pretty decent children's song
>How are they clapping?
>Pa Grape: I have no idea.
It was.
Raised catholic, pretty firm atheist now, still look back fondly on veggietales
>Umm...ummm, this is me at the airport...
>...this is my Aunt Ruth.
>This is me at a bullfight.
>This is me fighting the bull.
>(Oooooh!)
>This is me and the bull.
>(Ahhhhh.)
>This is me and the bull, and....I think that’s the bull’s cousin. He’a a cebu!

>Oh look, there’s me and Bob at Seaworld!
>There’s me and that bull again.
Pretty good but this was peak indoctrination kino
That's because it focused mainly on (bible) stories, and humor.
The moral messages were incredibly basic bitch shit, not some "don't masturbate or you'll go to hell" thing.
Adventures in Odyssey was good but the one with the time travelling kids and their racist stereotype was the best.
>Kid is scared
>There are weird/different people out there
>Kid starts lying to not get in trouble
>doing the right thing even when it's scary/hard/unpopular
One of the best things about this show were how believably the episode's antagonists or problems were. I watched a lot of Christian shows growing up (literally have a pastor relative), and you'd be surprised how much they focus on evil spirits tempting/mind control, or recurring evil bad guys. VeggieTales had characters that were misguided, and that made it much more relatable, especially as a kid.
>Satan loves VeggieTales
Color me surprised.
