Cerebro and Magento's helmet are Stark tech
I wonder if they're going to go with the Ultimate route and present mutants as a relatively recent government experiment for the sake of having an easier time explaining why we've never seen one before
So would Magneto no longer be a Holocaust survivor?
I dunno, i guess he could still be one. They could give him Wolverine's role and make him the oldest/first mutant
I'm just guessing
I really doubt it. The MCU's trick is that they keep the basic premise the same because that's what casuals know but then they just betray the entire emotional center of the characters. The basic premise of Spider-Man as a wise cracking web slinging New York kid always in over his head is the same. The emotional center of the motivation to do the right thing due to guilt from him being selfish and doing nothing leading to Ben's death is replaced with CAN'T LET MR. STARK DOWN!
The basic premise of them being mutants feared by the world will be the same because that's what casuals know.
You're probably right
They'll go the Loki route eith Magneto
He'll be evil, but not TOO evil, and slowly redeemed over the course of five or so movies.
It will be better than CHARLES I AM INEVITABLY BETRAYING YOU YET AGAIN AND HAVE LEARNED NOTHING from the Fox movies.
Magneto is so fucking tough. He has to be a Holocaust victim because: 1. that's awesome characterization, 2. politics people will be FURIOUS if they strip that from him, 3. that's how casuals know him.
But they can't hire an old man because MCU wants to be able to rely on their actors for years and years and FOX already did the old granpda Magento and it only worked because of McKellen. The only option is time travel or the reborn baby stuff like the comics and that is just so fucking wacky. Maybe they could tie him into Cap and Red Skull and the tesseract somehow? Just spitballing.
Honestly the X-Men have so many great villains, they can afford to keep Magneto on a shelf so we can finally get a Movie version of The Hellfire Club or Spiral or Arcade.
I doubt they merged with Fox and acquired the X license to NOT use the greatest villain in all of comics (respect to Joker and DOOM).
But we did get a movie version of the Hellfire Club.
Weird how McAvoy is now aged enough to play current Xavier
>who are these people?
>they were always here, LIKE BETWEEN THE PAGES OF A COMIC
Lol they're too embarrassed by comics to ever mention them in these movies
why? with x-men come the shi'ar, why not use it? you know the shi'ar are what are eventually going to connect the marvel universe to the star wars universe for their epic 9 movie crossover in 2040
>jedi wolverine with lightsabre claws
>sith red skull with his own nazi stormtroopers
dont act like you wouldnt watch it
I kinda think The Eternals is gonna serve as kind of an introduction to mutants, seeing as how their origin is kinda linked to Celestials. Hell, considering that we're over 10 years into the MCU and superheroes have started popping up everywhere, the mutants probably couldn't have come at a better time.
Scarlet Witch rewrote reality. No More Mutants is current MCU. She'll undo it after Endgame and the X-Men and Fantastic Four will reappear out of thin air.
Is that movie even actually happening?
There really isnt a way of incorporating mutants into the current storyline without it feeling like a major ass pull that wont be good for any of the x-men's origins or back stories.
It's an ass pull but a reality warping event. Either Scarlet Witch or reality stone. To shoehorn mutants into the current universe wpuld be a way to intrpduce them yet preserve the stories that need to be dated back.
they did a major ass pull for Captain Marvel, so it's not unthinkable to have Xavier erase the memories of everyone about mutants.

I think the most importaint thing they have to decide is are the core X-Men going to be teenagers like Spider-Man or adults?
The X-Men catalog is interesting and expansive enough to warrant its own stand alone universe and continuity. The characterization of heroes and villains is amazing. Also X-Men as a stand alone would benefit from a more mature tone. I really dont believe they should be forced into the mcu.
I think the Fantastic Four catalog would be much more appropriate for the MCU and would actually benefit both mutually. Dr. Doom and Galactus are cosmic level villains suitable for next big bad status after Thanos. Plus you can have the fantastic four conduct the experiment that gives them powers at any point without really fudging the mcu continuity. With all the recent space stuff on earth it would surprise me if off screen reid richards is about to get his powers activated. Imagine having Doom fight Thanos only to do a full heel turn? Man.
X-Men is better with 18A and R ratings with mature themes. If they put it into the family friendly mcu its just over saturating the current mcu market. There needs to be more movies that dont feel samey.
Marvel has plenty other properties left to expand upon. Ie a fantastic four that isnt lame.
High budget 10-ep season show to be Disney streaming's flagship property. First spinoff is a TV-MA X-Force spinoff lead by Psylocke. Screenshot me. It will be initially unclear as to whether it takes place in the MCU and will cross over in the other streaming shows first (Scarlet Witch learns she's a mutant).
They could always make it canon that mutants age much more slowly than humans. Or have magneto have been important way in the past as an undergound leader of mutants but who has passed away from old age, then just have him aopear in a period piece or something.
You just say Magneto keeps himself young using his magnetic powers for stopping his cells from deteriorating at an atomic level
They're gonna go for teenagers. I'm guessing the X-Men will essentially be portrayed as gays / trans teens in a teen drama style. MCU Spider-Mna has a John Hughes vibe, X-Men will have a Perks of Being a Wallflower or soap opera vibe with lots of school drama. The Singer movies touched on this but Wolverine was the focal point. This will be about the X-Men has developing teens.
gay everything
Yep this is the gay one. MCU is going to make X-Men for gays the way Black Panther is for blacks and Captain Marvel is for women.
Make them superheroes ffs
