I still don't get it why Aquaman made 1,1 billion while Batman vs Superman only made 800 million

It was Fun, people like fun
More colorful and fun and generally more Marvelish I guess? I mean i've not watched it but that's the general opinion I hear
Why does it matter? What is this obsession anons have with pretending that how much a studio spends to convince retards in China to pay to see a movie is some kind of proof that their awful capeshit is better than your awful capeshit?
Being a good movie helps.
Batman vs Superman was a worse movie for one thing
Comedy and fanservice.
Batman v Superman was simply too deep for modern audiences to understand
Unironically this.
These.
Who would have thunk that people want their capeshit movies to be fun?
Lel, gud bait
I generally don't watch superhero movies, the last superhero movie I watched before Aquaman was Age of Ultron and disliked it.
I watched it because:
-It looks like a full movie with beginning and end, not a stepping stone in the build up of some cinematic universe.
-High budget underwater and sea monsters visuals
I liked it, as in, 7/10 movie. And it reminded me a lot of Saint Seya, especially the Poseidon story
I saw half of Man of Steel on tv, and it felt like a failure at being deep and high brow to me.
>Why does it matter?
I guess because in this case it's not "their and your" but "mine and mine"? Why do you not want to analyze how things make or don't make money, are you some kind of communist?
Pleb.
>generally more Marvelish
It takes itself too seriously to be marvelish.
A marvelish Aquaman movie would have included several jokes about Aquaman talking to fish.
It was a visual masterpiece.
Decades from now, it'll have people really appreciate it. Kind of like Kubrick's The Shining; when that film came out in theaters, it was a mixed, mostly negative reaction. But as the years went on, critics kept changing their minds on it, and now, its almost universally praised.
Aquaman was actually a good movie.
This is a waste of visuals.
It would be far more meaningful if Superman's death mirrored Pa Kent, not Jor-El.

Stop. It's not EVER going to be appreciated. When will you deluded Snydercucks learn?
Easy to understand plot, simple plot structure, a lot of comedic moments, and pretty visuals with crazy shit happening in every frame. Also a lots of fanservice to please comic readers. The last one is a big plus. MoS and BvS in comparison was too subversive for its own good. Challenged a lot of people knew about the characters.
I'd compare it more to a Fast and Furious movie. Dumb as rocks and a showcase for the charisma/ sex appeal of its leads.
>Challenged a lot of people knew about the characters.
No they didn't. Those movies straight up assassinated Superman and Batman's characters. Not to mention Jonathon Kent and whatever the hell they did to Jimmy Olsen.
>It takes itself too seriously to be marvelish.
The final battle should've taken place in a SUPERMARKET.
And Ocean Master should've been eating POPCORN.
>Those movies straight up assassinated Superman and Batman's characters.
No, they didn't. Stop being a pussy. I'm a huge Batmanfag and liked what it did with Batman.

I don't see how you can look at Batman killing left and right without any regard for life and think that's okay.
It was interesting to see a Batman that is crushed by 20 of immutable status quo.
In 30 years, we'll see who is right, and who is the Wheadon-ite.
people are tired of Batman and Superman, they want something new and something cool. In a time when there is SO much superhero stuff people want something new and this gave them that
oh, you want Owlman. ok
Non-white hero. People didn't want to be seen as racist.
Not the same thing at all.
Actual heroic deeds instead of just fighting for his life? A sense of adventure and a main character that goes beyond your typical action hero role by not just killing the bad guy?
I liked MoS foor what it was, but Aquaman is just a better movie overall.
Based Julianposter
This. AQ was a full fledged movie as opposed to half baked teasers the majority of capeshit movies are today. It wasn't a masterpiece but it was immersive and different enough for people to want to see it.
This literally doesn't happen. How is this meme still alive? Batman's arc in BvS is pretty simple to understand.
BvS was a bad movie. I understand what it was trying to do, but the execution was just bad.
