good creators given a lot of freedom inside of a pretty expansive universe with a lot of possibilities to explore
I did not appreciate this enough as a kid.
>First and probably best of the anime anthologies tied to western IPs
>Ended up more interested than the actual sequels
I honestly think everyone went from "this is okay" to "those were fucking great!" after Reloaded and Revolution. Shorter stabs at the themes of the Matrix also don't allow it to get bogged down too much.
You obviously appreciate an epic tale of le oppressed minority raping the bodies and minds of da privaleged wypipo, user. I’m not judging but here’s a tip, don’t cook asparagus for your wife’s bull before you suck his cum out of her holes.

Yikes.
I don't care what you say, The Second Renaissance still gives me nightmares to this day.

Anybody's feelings of the wachowski siblings aside they made an incredible universe an allowed for (were told by the studio, idk the pecking order in their case) other creators to take it and run with it.
Anime studios in the early 2000s were doing some really progressive things with their technique so it fit perfectly.
It's great that it had so much variety within it and so many different perspectives. The movies are trench coat hacker land and have no room for this stuff.
>siblings
They’re brothers.
It wasen't
I appreciate how the embed preview for the first part shows the most horrifying scene.
aren't they Sisters now?
watch Second Renaissance, Kid's Story, A Detective Story and Beyond. the rest are shit.
>When You Push The Autistic Kids A Bit Too Far: The OVA
>Kid's Story, A Detective Story and Beyond
Remind me what happened in these please.
>kid story
kids commits suicide by jumping off a school roof to be free
>beyond
kids and lady find a spot where they could do all the cool matrix shit that neo could do
and i don't remember detective story
Is this what mental illness looks like upclose?
I feel mad no one has ever done a type of documentary like The Second Renaissance in animation ever since.
Because anthology films are an awesome concept in general.
In the case of the Matrix, they had a lot of material at their disposal, which helped, but the artists themselves were top notch in general.
I'd like to see a similar anthology flick based around Green Lanterns.
No, they’re still brothers.
They just found a glitched house, they didn’t have neos powers, haunted houses, along with supernatural entities in the matrix are all programs glitching.
a case to solve all cases
>not the one where the black guy breaks free
It's someone embarrassing themselves in an attempt to be funny, just ignore it.
who the fuck animated that ? it looked good
Madhouse if I remember right
Because it’s anime. Western animation is never good compared to anime.
Because you still look at it from nostalgia glasses. The animation is quite good, but the underlying problem is that the story of the matrix does make sense. Put your brain to it and the story falls apart.
The premise of using humans as batteries is flawed as they are inefficient as a power source, while nuclear power would have met the power output for the machines. . The premise of the human machine war seen in second renaissance makes no sense for a few reasons. Firstly, why would the machines need to be in a market place with humans or trade with humans? Why would the human nations open war with the machines when they could have put tarrifs on the machine produced goods to offset the savings and put their items on the same pricing as the goods they made. The nukes that were used on the machines would have been very effective as radiation can negatively affect electronics as severely as it does on the living.
