Decent enough idea, but if it's gonna be all Peni all the time then it can have just one style, unlike the other game that got to play with many styles. I wouldn't object to cell-shading for the game itself, and manga pages flipping with narration for cutscenes, and maybe anime for the really important cutscenes (as long as it's decently animated in a classic way and not CGI).

How about you also get other characters with Side missions, by which I mean you play a mission and unlock a character to get to certain, unreachable areas, like those NDS Transformers games back in the day.
You could have targets that you needed to shoot as Punisher Spider-Man/Spider-Man Noir, Maybe a DDR mat for Spider-Gwen, a piece of tech too advanced for Peni for Spider-Man 2099, or a short Guitar-Hero minigame for that one Punk Spider-Man, etc etc...

I'm all for whatever makes the game longer and ads replayability (if those missions unlock more levels then they would be there for extra content, plus they should be fun by themselves) but I wouldn't like them if they don't feel naturally integrated. I figured a Peni game would be pretty self-contained, but if they find a way to write those missions well and without conflicting with the core idea that it's a Peni game, then sure.
Too bad it would be a Play Station 4 exclusive since it's Sony, and I have just the Switch.

That sounds like a fun and funny idea, and if they're gonna integrate silly mini games and mechanics from other genres then I would like to see Peni in a shooter mission that resembles Ikaruga.
If the rhythm portion of the game is still a brawler but set to fun music and even the enemies dance as they attack then even my wife would like the game, because she loves those sorts of things, and that would make things easier for me.

Yes, insecure PMS Peni is part of the problem, but not even the chief one in my mind. The reason I liked the first SP//dr issue wasn't Peni so much as the world she inhabited: an anime-aestheticized near-future where Spider-Man and Daredevil operate in cooperation with, if not as members of, law enforcement, and it doesn't even seem to have occurred to the heroes to use secret identities.

The second issue just tossed away anything that made the world unique. Peni's superheroism is a secret despite the comic itself acknowledging how absurd this is after being excused from class to do superheroics. J. Jonah Jameson is another journalist mogul, just to fit JJJ into the comic. These things add nothing and feel like they're there just it never occurred to the writer that you can have a comic book without those things. Same goes for Aunt May's death/disappearance - killing off a parental figure for tragedy is just the easiest, most cliche, absolute basic bitch thing you can do to a child hero. Making Uncle Ben evil (or at least ruthlessly ambitious and reckless) is at least a seed you could make a story out of, but the writer knew this was a one-off and that it could never be followed up on, so it just feels like burning bridges. Not to mention that the aesthetics went from a mishmash of 90s anime to just pure NGE - yes, the first issue wore that influence on its sleeve, but it had other stuff going on. The second issue has *nothing* going on under the surface - everything just feels like it took the easiest possible route.

The second issue feels like the Daredevil movie (if anyone is old enough to remember that) - like it took a quick glance at the source material, couldn't be bothered to go any deeper, and pushed out something lazy, formulaic, and sharing only superficial similarities with the original.
