Bendis seeing his creation win an Oscar
Bendis seeing his creation win an Oscar
cc
omg that little girl is choking to death
And Kelly Sue will get to watch Carol win Best Picture next year!
>her daughter has Carol-hair
Cute
I can't hate Bendis as a person
People who adopt kids and actually take care of them have my respect
All Gwens must die
It's Armagweddon
She's pucking in disgust because she knows the flick is shit, shit!
>Bendis has to watch somebody else make his creation good enough to win an Oscar after 10+ years of him doing it
Yeah he seems a stand up guy about his kids. It's just a shame he likes writing them into his comics books.
That's never the issue if your specific
I hate Bendis's writing, it's fucking garbage.
This. Spiderverse Miles is not even his Miles. What the hell is he celebrating.
MCU characters are not Stan Lee characters either.
The stuff that made Miles interesting -- his relationship with his father and uncle -- came from Bendis.
The only thing they added character-wise was him being a grafitti artist
why would a comic by itself win an Oscar
They also improved his personality, his looks, his origin story, his interactions with others, the plot, they improved upon the work's aesthetic, they improved the dialogue, the tone, and they made Gwen even hotter than she already was.
All in all, Bendis didn't do much.
So basically vague non-specific elements
K
His uncle and father are also better characters
user I want you to think about you just wrote. Really think about it.
As someone who adored the Ultimate Spider-Man comics growing up, this really warms my heart. He may be hit or miss, but when he hits he's great.
And he loves his children-by-choice more than my real parents loved me.
Are you serious
The uncle was a non-entity in the movie who didn't even deduce Miles was Spidey until right before he died
If he's blocking the shot why didn't you take another picture?
Bitches are dumb
I told you guys Bendis was going to be wanking himself to that Spider-verse win, despite the fact that he contributed nothing to its success other than making Miles and his family. But the movie people had to re-do Miles' story from scratch, make his father a cop instead of a SHIELD agent, and give him an actual personality as well as make Aaron less of an asshole.
I get him being happy about Spider-Verse winning but why does he even deserve any kudos? Same shit with KSD re-tweeting all those people congratulating her for Captain Marvel coming out when her biggest contribution to that movie is probably the "alien cat" idea and Carol having a cat wasn't even her idea.
>The stuff that made Miles interesting -- his relationship with his father and uncle -- came from Bendis.
Fuck no, Miles' relationship with Aaron turned sour when Aaron found out Miles was a superhero and he tried to exploit him and was a dick towards Miles. And when Aaron was dying he gave Miles a generic "You're just like meeeee" speech and then nothing really came out of it.
Spider-verse Aaron wasn't there that much and he was a bad guys but what little we saw of him showed that he cared about his nephew and the last moment between them gave Miles so weight to Miles to be Spider-Man which paralleled Peter's with the death of Uncle Ben but at the same time made it Miles' own.
Spider-Verse Jefferson is more likeable than Bendis' who blamed his son for the death of his wife and brother. Yeah Miles likes graffiti and likes art and has a sketchbook where he does his ideas, he struggles fitting in a new school and wants to be in his old one (but later decides to try to fit in), we see some glimpses of his latino heritage and it doesn't come with him interacting with a stereotypical angry Latina grandma.
Bendis really fucking didn't do much to make these characters likeable, the writers of Into the Spider-verse did.
What the hell is this. Why is Bendis getting any credit for anything? His contribution to the film is literally "what if there was a black Spiderman". Nothing that made the film good was his idea or a product of his work in any way.
You are a retard.
Carol was created by Roy Thomas though.
Bendis has won Eisners on his own though.
Eisners haven't been legitimate for about an entire decade now.
MCU's characters have barely anything to do with Stan Lee's version of them yet nobody bitched about it.
Are you retarded or just not read the comics or watch the movie?
Tell me what I'm missing then. Because I just got some dumbass comment about aesthetics.
In terms of MILES and not the Spider-Verse stuff the movie just lifted from Bendis
No. He created Miles and his family. His arc with his father not liking superheroes and his uncle being a criminal came from him.
No one acts like Stan Lee is the mastermind behind say the depiction of Thanos in Infinity War. He's just acknowledged as the old school dude who made the shit in the first place. Feige and the Russo brothers get way more credit than he does.
By contrast, Bendis didn't fucking do anything, in this case. His contribution is "what if black Spider-Man". He made fanfiction of Stan Lee's original work, if you can even call it that. He deserves zero credit. In fact, Bendis is a fucking idiot and they would have done better to have ditched every single one of his ideas.
>WHAT IF BLACK LATINO SPIDER-MAN
>HIS LAST NAME CAN BE MORALES
>ALSO HIS MOM IS THE LATINA, HIS DAD IS AFRICAN AMERICAN
>I SPENT ALMOST NO TIME OR EFFORT ON THIS RETARDED IDEA
And he completely failed to execute anything remotely compelling with either of those ideas. The filmmakers fixed his abject failure. So he gets credit? Damn I wish I was a rich stupid fuck, when I completely fuck up my job I get yelled at I don't fucking fall upward.
Stan Lee didn't create Thanos, retard. Starlin did.
>derp why does Bendis get credit for the character he created
Are you kidding? People bitched about Stan Lee all the time
And you think the Oscars are?
Well no shit but they are talented enough that I'm sure they would have made the movie about something else and still have made it a success.
Didn't the whole idea of Miles Morales come about because people wanted Donald Glover to be Spider-Man in a movie? I also recall people saying Miles was going to be bi but that must have been just shit sites spreading rumors.
What this guy said
One thread every once in a while doesn't count, specially when compared to Bendis bitching. Everything gets a few bitching threads on Yea Forums, there was one about Bone about a week ago.
lol
This is the only bad thing about Spider-Verse winning the Oscar. This bald fuck does not deserve to share the glory of Lord and company's hard work to turn his soulless garbage into something that resembles a real story.
Not quite. According to Bendis one of the things that convinced him to make Miles black was seeing an episode of Community where Donglover dressed like Spider-Man. The casting thing came later.
user, comics can't win Oscars.
Well Stan stopped fucking over characters decades ago while Bendis till this day still fucks over them and then is gleeful about it. He earned that hate.
Kelly Sue didn't create "Captain" Marvel, she created the soulless husk that no one can write for that has been rebooted twelve times in the last several years.
At least the movie showed us that there's nothing wrong with the Miles character in principle, it's just Bendis' shitty writing. Which is totally obvious, since any character sucks when the writer is shitty, but somehow needs to be said out loud to the MAGA-hat crowd around here.
>we'll never see the fucking end of his shitty fucking character because a stroke-of-luck movie he was in won an Oscar
Why would Bendis take credit for the spider-verse movie? It's so different from the comics that seems kind of insulting to Bendis to the effect of you write so shittily that we had to change everything.
>there's nothing wrong with the Miles character in principle
>what if Peter died and was replaced by an identical yet more boring diverse clone of himself
I guess he's okay if your standards for writing are abysmally low
Have you considered that maybe you're an idiot that got too distracted by the flashy lights and spider-lolis to notice Miles is still the usual boring faggot? Bendis was an executive producer too
You people should try take a look outside your biases every now and then, plenty of articles and reviews around on the movie place a lot of merits onto Bendis due to his "creative" and "brave" creation of a black-latino Spiderman, because that's the entire sum of Miles as a character anywhere, if there's any significant difference between his comic and movie versions then it seems nobody noticed except insecure newfags like you
>w-wait no, i don't like Bendis and his superficial race pandering, I'm more smart than that!
You like Miles, deal with it instead of trying to rewrite reality to rationalize your fondness for a damn movie
That's quite a bit of assuming you did, are you projecting?
his
What's with Bendis and his huge boner for his Black kid?
>Bendis has won Eisners on his own though.
Bendis browse Yea Forums. Who the fuck did you think was defending all of Bendis' awful comics from the last decade or so
What's with Bendis and his huge boner for his Black kid?
>Bendis had to leave Marvel for Miles to become a good character
He's still not a good character.
Kinda true. Comic Miles is fucking shit. Movie Miles is likeable.
We really need some way of separating people that made the characters and people that made something good out of them.
How is Spencer Spider-Man? I read and liked his other Marvel work, does it feel the same?
>Movie Miles is likeable.
I've noticed that the only people who actually like Movie Miles haven't actually read any comics, Ultimate or otherwise.
For anyone that does read comics, the whole "What if X was Spider-Man?" is a dead horse that's been beaten beyond a bloody pulp, and we've already had "What if everyone was Spider-Man... AT THE SAME TIME"? like, twice now, along with the same trash being done again with Venom.
Stay mad miles fag. Enjoy 20 years of him.
good thing he won them 15 years ago then
>damage control from the guy who keeps making anti-Miles posts
>I've noticed that the only people who actually like Movie Miles haven't actually read any comics, Ultimate or otherwise.
I don't think you read comics either
Cool.
I read Bendis' Miles comics and he really isn't that interesting, hell the times I liked comic Miles was when other writers wrote him.
Even then he doesn't have that much of a defined personality, see how Wilson wrote him in Ms Marvel or how Pak handled him in his Totally Awesome Hulk run.
Besides Wacker came up with the Carol as Captain Marvel idea.
I have and outside the original Ultimate Spider-man run in which he is an ok character that has a strong start but goes fucking nowhere, he is a garbage character pushed by a garbage writer and the movie take keeps the best parts of Ultimate while making a strong ending for that particular story.
Meanwhile you got Miles stuck forever on movie act 2 mode character-wise while one shotting fuckers with Venom Sting/blast.
Snooze fest from a complete hack.
Jesus Christ user, you are even more embarrassing than Bendis' writing
