Early concepts showed Elsa being more of the classic "diva" villain--along the same vein as Cruella deVille, Ursula, and Maleficent. We could've had the first really charismatic Disney villain we had in a while. But instead they we got...well a very confused character that does literally nothing but sing one song before going "okay I was wrong" and a lame ass twist villain.

to be honest in the original story of Anderson the snow queen is actually not bad person. she is just different living on its own rules. like Royals actually did back then.

i dont see Frozen as a story about snow queen. it is completely something different.

Disney's attempts at Snow Queen always got derailed by people wanting to waifu her.

There was the Enchanted Snow Palace Disneyland ride concept with this qt, there was the Michael Eisner era pitch of a romantic comedy about someone trying to warm the Snow Queen's heart like some G-Rated Oglaf strip, and therhe was even a version with an aged up Kai/Snow Queen endgame ship that would turn Gerda into a villainous golddigging bitch.

The story behind Souzmultfil:

around in the 90'ns some criminal jew moved to USA and brought with him the cinema released copies of souzmultfilm. some american jew saw the chance to get the whole company into his hands and bought those copies. Later he created own company offering soviet cartoons to the american audience and video companies. the shit turned good money because many immigrants from former Warsaw block bought those for own children.. Souzmultfilm was already privat and broken. Owner of it saw the chance to get rich and sold the right in USA to the jew. ..and this is where it became high crime.

Russian idiot had not read the contracts very well and actually sold the whole copyright to the jews company. Russian cartoonist tried to save the situation and sued american jew for stealing the Soviet Property by rigged contracts and failed in US courts due bad lawyers. Then one of those activist figured out that the music in the cartoons actually is copyrighted by other former soviet company and connected with them. the jews answer was to replace whole music tracks with some bullshit. the scam of the jews worked meanwhile for almost 30 years and stopped first as Putin ordered to sort the fuck whole situation out. He clear declared that RF is now the follower state of Soviet Union and it was accepted around the world. The Souzmultfilm was nationalized back and finally got money to fight for own copyrights. the whole content of companies was declared to the national treasure and jew lost all hist rights to Russian State(there were whispers that russians just send very clear warning to the jew to stop or they will just bring his body lost in some desert).

After decades of being bankrupt, Russians found new ways to create shit and finance it by being very creative. They run sponsoring and kick-starting their projects as independent shit. this doesn't allow the banks to sack the money and projects, which were in making for decades can finally being finished.

Also i must say that Russians dropped their cartoons because they literally had no money for it. TV networks got better and cheaper offerings from US production companies like Disney and so on. their cartoons got dubed and had conquered russian Ex Soviet market very fast. Later, After sorting out the shit with soviet cinemas Russians finally got enough money and people to start creating more modern system of state financed projects and control of the money flow.

Frozen =|= The Snow Queen. They tried to adapt the story since Walt was alive and couldn't get it to work they wanted to till they reworked the whole thing into a different story "inspired by" TSQ. They considered that option and it didn't work for them.

We already have the Soviet animation version that's a gorgeous faithful adaptation. Disney wanted something different, deal with it.
