Why is this show so boring? The world building is atrocious, I have no idea what any of this magic is, what the limits are, it seems they can just do whatever they want. Also, it’s just plain boring, and the locations are pathetic, especially compared to the memorable ones from ATLA. locations range from “forest” to “mountain”.
None of the stuff you mentioned above is part of the appeal. It's all about the gays and elves...it's a gay elves show what else is their to say?

Why does everyone on Yea Forums keep doing this?! It was the fucking 20s! The last cartoon golden age! The times were different back then! Social justice wasn't as crazy! Twitter, Tumblr, and Yea Forums weren't cesspools! Deviantart was a site no one cared/knew about! calarts wasn't as hated and overused as it now! Youtube was just starting and actually competent with their copyright strikes! Netflix wasn't a thing! Fandoms were small and pure with their darkest secrets being only mentioned by/in r34. There were so many overall factors that led to ATLA success. 2010 and onward is the rock bottom of the cartoon era and this cartoon is a puddle in a desert. Dragon Prince is mediocre compared to the cartoons of the past but superior to what we have now. If your going to compare it to something, compare it to something recent and then see the difference!

Unlike ATLA nothing feels fresh or unique?
I thought Season 2 was going make the plot gain momentum but it's still as slow and uneventful and the first season.
This show is worse than The Legend of Korra & Voltron: Legendary Defender.

No I'm serious, this is my sincere opinion. I think the Dragon Prince is one of the blandest action adventure show that I've ever seen. The action isn't that great since the fight choreography and weapons aren't that great and the magic system is lame and uncreative. The adventure aspect suck since the locations that they explore are pretty boring.
The Asian influence helped gave it more of a unique aesthetic. Also the martial sequences where way more dynamic than any fight we've seen in the Dragon Prince.
I'm not saying that Dragon Prince needs to reinvent the wheel but they could at least try to be slightly original.
I haven't even watched Avatar and i still think Dragon Prince is kinda mediocre, although i haven't watched S2 yet

You hit the nail right on the head. The only reason that this show stands out is that the average action cartoon produced in America is shit. So this show is being praised for being intelligent because the characters are slightly more than two dimensional.
I enjoyed Dragon prince more than I did She ra s1. she ra does not really have anything going for it except for catra and Entrapta. Dragon prince has more or at least the puzzle box intrigue of things to come.

I don't see it. I thought the villain was interesting in the sense that he actually seems to have a range of emotions other than being an evil schemer, but then again it almost feels accidental because of how every single character is written as a dad jokes machine

The Magic system wasn't as well defined.
Personally I'm triggered by then presenting us two lesbian queen somehow with a daughter that never knew them and thinking not explaining how any of that worked was okay. That's prime worldbuilding material and they don't even make an offhand comment about it
