No, I'd rather the show be more like the manga. What made it work was the minimalist style, pacing, and action. Expansion didn't happen every chapter, but it was more frequent and the characters actually stayed on model instead of fluctuating each minute. Each expansion had more time and emphasis placed on it, and the juxtaposition of slower drama segments and fast paced action broke things up and gave you a sense of scale and familiarity before the next change. It also went way farther, with Chifusa's overindulged, handicapped self being twice as big.

The show was fucked from the start by being low budget ecchi. The consistency and quality necessary to make the titillation pop was absent, a lot of the best chapters were ignored in place of boring, lame fanservice scenarios that lacked on pretty much every level, and the show tried to adopt the early manga art style instead of the more appealing and easier to animate style from ~ volume 3 onwards. They didn't even cover most of the fun extra ahit, like most of Chifusa's little side jobs and the goofy omake chapters, and the few they did (and new ones they made up) were butchered. A good Manyuu adaptation would be akin to something like Kill-la-Kill, juggling several tones and splurging the budget where it mattered across the whole series instead of the first few episodes.

But that would be impossible, so instead of an action-dramedy that occasionally has some nice fanservice, you get a fanservice show with like three decent BE gifs, a bunch of low quality stills, and some really boring, shitty fanservice that fails to entice.
