Would a complete change in animation make the Simpsons popular again?
Would a complete change in animation make the Simpsons popular again?
Sampsins was never celebrated for its animation. It could be a comic strip if the jokes were still as good.
user, you don't know why the Simpsons is bad, do you?
problem with the simpsons is the writing
that and they put way more effort and creativity into the little credit sequence bit to try and attract viewers and then the episode itself is ho-hum and business as usual
It already had one, and no.
Nope.
And it can't be CalArts'd because it's literally CalArts: The Show well before the meme made it a thing.
Put Max Gilardi on it and it just might work.
simpsons is bad because nothing that runs for 30 years in a row can be good.
Keeping them the same age for continuity no longer works, because now they're different generations.
if you're going to have characters that never develop, you have to stick to short form stuff, where you can explore static characters, and every week is a true reset. this is what Sherlock Holmes was supposed to be when it was written. it's what those old WB cartoons from the 40s were.
they should have learned from Hanna-Barbera's mistakes, and not just lampshaded them.
if you'd subtracted the middle 10 years of the simpsons' run, it might be considered a halfway-decent reboot kinda sorta.
>Would a complete change in animation make the Simpsons popular again?
>Assuming the Simpsons aren't still popular because people all over the world still watch them
Simpsons' already stupid popular
it gets 2M views at the very least, which is far more than you can say for any other show except maybe family guy
Just because Yea Forums doesn't like it, doesn't mean other people don't
one of the drawbacks to muh sekrit club
*cartoon
not show
there are still far more popular shows
>same as the Fucking WWE in it's current dying self
No it's not. Being simple doesn't make it calarts.
Well yeah, simpsons is also dying, but I look at it this way
the first season was one of the most popular, even though it really wasn't the best example of golden age simpsons
Season 9 was actually watched less than Season 14 and while it's had a steady decline, it's also had a long run
So yeah, simpsons isn't nearly as popular, but it's still one of the most popular cartoons and it's hard to argue against making new seasons if you can still get 2M people to watch--from the business side of things
sneed
Matt Groening, Brad Bird, and a lot more of the Simpsons old guard were CalArts students.
The problem with CalArts isn't a dumb meme style, it's the fact that they've had a chokehold on new generations of animators since the 1970s. Pixar, the Disney Renaissance, and the early Cartoon Cartoons were all products of CalArts alumni.
god no
why would that solve anything
Simpsons = WWE
???? = AEW
unironically this. Just modern animators that loved the series, understand their tropes and are ready to take the series to newer directions.
We wont get classic simpsons but it'll be a fucking huge improvement
Its clearly Rick and Morty as they both pander to Smarks
If I were Matt Groening...well, I'd be filthy rich and not on Yea Forums, but anyway if I were him I would not announce it but I'd have the cast start aging in real-time right now. When Bart got old enough to graduate high school and go out into the world, the show would end.
