This is something I heard years ago, and if someone has solid evidence they can back me up here, but it was my understanding that at the time of Zombie Island's production it was in fact a Swat Kats plotline that went under retooling since the show was canceled and the writers were salty towards Ted Turner. The cat people were essentially a subtle fuck you to Ted. Perhaps though this was just bullshit, but I'd believe it.

I am okay with the original version because her face doesn't look like a rotten corpse, it just looks sorta unusual, but it works in the original artstyle. But directly translating it into a more realistic look doesn't work for me, that's all.
In fact, in the original artstyle, I think Ms Grimwood looks uglier.

I feel like if you dig into the production details of any film, you'll find something about it that will give you reason to pause at the very least. Swat Katz retooled or not, on its face its the best of the Scooby movies, and I'd even go so far as to say that if it is a retooled Swat Katz script then it works way better with the gang than with the Swat Katz.

It's probably the last time we'll ever see them since the current Scooby Doo writers are "Muh paranormal isn't real, It was all a dream" fags, After what they did with that awful 13th ghost movie I think it's for the best.

Considering her lifestyle and all the rotten food the ghouls eat, probably terrible.

Aside from fat Tanis, the ghouls were treated pretty well. They even got three of the original VAs back.

They were part of a set of TV movies Hanna-Barbara came out with in the late 80's based on a bunch of their cartoons. This is also where The Flintstone Meet The Jetsons came from I believe.

The Superstars 10 films with Scooby-Doo; Boo Brothers and Reluctant Werewolf were the other two. All three of them felt like backdoor pilots for other shows that they added the Scooby characters to just to please executives who wanted established characters.

Monster Party

All four of the late 90's Scooby Doo movies produced at Hanna Barbera before WB took over (Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, Alien Invaders, and Cyber Chase) were all animated at Mook, the japanese studio that also was the main studio on Swat Kats. Heck, both Witch's Ghost and Alien Invaders *also* involved Swat Kats writers (Cyber Chase was the odd one out)
