>Spongebob still hasn't got his license
I don't know why that annoys me but it does.
the general Yea Forums consensus on post-2nd movie spongebob is "not AS good as classic but still pretty good"
That was from S9 after the second movie, the only batch of episodes that came close to the originals. S10-12 are hyperactive garbage for the most part.
Example: youtube.com
>blocked in my country
Nice
A good example of a modern episode is the one with Kenny the Cat. It's not particularly funny and is more weird as fuck then it is funny.
...
that pearl gag was pretty good, but the rest of it was just as mediocre as the rest of nu-spongebob
I genuinely laughed at the scene where Mr Krabs woke up, asked what squidward was doing, then got more salt on him and he screamed in pain. That got a chortle out of me, so did Mr Krabs going through the damages.
Why was squidward assaulting a customer with a deadly weapon anyways?
>I was told post-movie nu-spongebob wasnt funny, yet I laughed at this and it felt like the older seasons.
that's because right after the 2nd movie they had this really good writer do 10 episodes and then he left. the show went back to being shit immediately after
season 9b is good. seasons 10-12 are business as usual. a mixed bag of crap
>the lawsuit bit
That got me.
But why is the animation so stiff, is this before they decided to go full Ren and Stimpy?
>rehashing the same plot from s1
fucking hell stop
>written by Kaz
literally worst episodes
Why is the pitch of Krabs' voice higher?

thanks... thanks for nothing
You're welcome.
Holy fuck, I haven't seen a "new" Spongebob in years. It looks and sounds so weird, especially after recently watching prime era Spongebob.
The characters are like some reptilian space alien infiltration. There's an overall impression of wrongness.
Sounds like the voice actors are just aging and losing their proper vocal inflection, like they're tiring of the role. And the animation seems really clean but flat. The key frame motions are very dullard, when they should be exaggerated like a Tom and Jerry cartoon.
>humor
It's sort of a dull. "Brevity is the soul of wit." The pace is too shambling. It's like zombie simpsons.
It's the same plot and jokes, but done tired and worse. You can feel the lack of passion.
>The key frame motions are very dullard, when they should be exaggerated like a Tom and Jerry cartoon.
nigga what the fuck, classic spongebob always looked tame
you could not be more wrong
compare this crying from pizza delivery

I always despised Spongebob's season 6-8 design, it seemed way too stiff for me.
I still can't do it.
>There's so much preamble between jokes
>Background characters get half the dialogue where they used to be cardboard cutouts with the occasional gag line
>Animation's fine, especially by today's tv standard, but animation quality was never the draw to begin with
>Every episode seems to pick one character as its protagonist and focus, and it usually isn't Spongebob. He'll just be present to drive the plot.
>"Stuff happens to a character's eyes" seems to be half the gags
>They almost never use the old soundtrack anymore
>Mr. Krabs is suddenly Spongebob's dad, Sandy is suddenly more brainy than sporty, Karen is now the main character, etc. It just sucks to see such established characters have their old identities overwritten.
>Painted close-up shots seem to be distributed to random scenes and no longer punctuate jokes
>Every scene is so stretched out, exposition goes on for way too long, scenes building up to joke scenes take up most of the script.
>The writers seem to be going for a sit com vibe. Not a bad idea for a cartoon, but it doesn't fit the original Spongebob formula.
>It's not comfy. Where's the comfy?
I could go on. But I don't want to risk sounding like a certain Mister.
Gee ,it's as if Mr XXXXX was onto something when he reviewed Spongebob and pointed the obvious flaws but he was dismissed because he made the mistake to mention he had autism and a lot of people jumped on the bashing bandwagon because of memes
Also he obviously live in your head rent free
Season 10 was better than 9, I felt. And I far prefer current seasons over the garbage dump that was 6-8.
>squidward sprinkles salt in his face
>Krabs is clearly awake
>continues to sprinkle anyway
first season had a completely different look to anything following
One thing I always enjoyed from the early seasons (especially season 1) is that the palette is darker but also much more colorful. Later on they made everything painfully bright and not as rich colour-wise.
This doesnt feel like the original seasons, it feels like a Kingdom Hearts version of the original seasons
in the new opening and in the new seasons spongebob is pretty much neon yellow and his eyes look gray, it looks awful, same problem with the simpsons, just because everything is digitally colored doesn't mean you have to go for the brightest color
Not everything is about you. Get over yourself
Bulletin Board is the best S9B episode and best allegory of the Internet they could use
