I'm pretty sure the situation play out more along the lines of Glimmer wanting to use Moonstone powers to eradicate the Horde but Adora disagreeing rather than Glimmer being corrupted into Horde evil. Entrapta turning worked because her desire for SCIENCE outweighs her sense of morality. It would feel forced and edgy to give Glimmer a reason to turn the same way.

Perhaps. It's likely that Horde Prime's universe is where Etheria originated, before Ma-Ra moved it. Which would make it indeed a target even before Hordak arrived on the scene.
Which creates even more questions about Ado-Ra's origin. She's not a native of the planet, as we can see from her flashbacks. Was she born in Horde Prime's universe, and was intentionally brought to Etheria? And did that act allow Hordak to follow and crash on Scorpia's family territory? That would mean Ado-Ra herself was a valuable asset already, independent from her role as She-Ra, because why else would Hordak have been chasing her?
