Couldn't literally any X-Men cosmic entity kill them?
Couldn't literally any X-Men cosmic entity kill them?
Do you mean the Phoenix? Because really that’s the only cosmic being the x-men have.
I hope you don’t mean the imperial guard, because you’ve obviously forgotten that apart from Gladiator those guys are constantly getting placed because they die so often.
Literally maybe.
X-Men as a franchise has to be basically handwaved when it comes to any Cosmic Threat because of their ridiculous power levels.
Legion vs Galactus, Iceman could've probably solo'd any alien invasion of Earth in the last 30 years, the New Mutants squad would beat the Black Order like a rented mule.
They have trouble dealing with Nova.
Nova's pretty strong. I don't think he could beat Phoenix, but he's on par with guys like Gladiator.
X-Men don't have many cosmic entities? Do you mean just powerful mutants? Yes there are certainly mutants like Legion or whatever that could solo these guys, but plot generally keeps them away from the front lines of anything.
>the New Mutants squad would beat the Black Order like a rented mule.
I'm not sure what the current lineup of the New Mutants is, but IIRC Black Swan is very high tier in terms of super strength and durability, and has nasty energy projection shit.
Actually, why is Black Swan even with these guys? The fuck happened with her? I don't recall everything from Hickman's shit perfectly but I don't at all remember her working for Thanos or being the kind to buy into his whole shtick.
>Actually, why is Black Swan even with these guys?
She likes fucking shit up, and that's usually what they do wherever they go.
I assume she just likes hanging out with them and has the same thought process.
They treat her well and she gets to kill people, it's a win win for her.
The fuck? I remember her characterization being a kind of cross between a religious fanatic and a desperately scared refugee who was all about blowing up Earths to save universes. She didn't seem like she was particularly into killing people, if anything she seemed to be in total despair underneath her veneer of control.
You don’t remeber well enough because you’re glossing over the time Reed built the dimensional viewer and saw how murderous and dangerous she really was. That was around the time that stopped letting her out of her box.
In terms of strength and durability, Sunspot is apparently Hulk tier and Dani as Valkyrie once tore Ares a new asshole
And Cannonball is invulnerable to all kinetic force when he's blastin'
And Magma's a living volcano so her energy projection is pretty ridic
That's not even getting into the bullshit that Warlock and Magik can pull when they get serious
Karma would probably get raped by Super Giant or Ebony Maw though
They just decided she was super evil.
I know, it's depressing.
And Cypher? Apparently, Doug can just talk no jutsu any and everything into oblivion.
Nova killed millions of people in the Shi Ar empire and the whole Imperial Guard couldnt stop her
Do you mean Omega Level mutants?
they are generally unusable reality manipulators, people like Mister M, or Legion, or the crazy brother of Psylocke and Captain Britain.
Too many people named Nova
Took me a second to realize you meant Cassandra Nova
Fuck, man, haven't all these guys died like six times?
Maybe Corvus, because he's immortal, but the rest have only died once.
So, like, did Black Swan just abandon her original goal? Did she have some kind of DNA map and material inside her that she wanted to regrow her family with? Surely she'd be able to do that now that the Incursions are over.
Gladiator is just the most recognizable member but he still exists to get shit on
When is Black Swan going to get Dick rided?
After she gets black dwarfed.
First he has to find out what the key to her heart is.
After kicking her ass two times in a row, I don't think he's gonna do that
Problem with the x-men power levels is that they’re really only wanked in their own books, when they show up in non x-books they tend to be less than spectacular.
Why are we even still dealing with this group?
Because fuck you they were in a movie that’s why.
But honestly their mini is actually pretty good, Landy has been doing a good job with it.
Wait, Black Swan's appeared after Secret Wars?
It's a borderline berserker Rich Ryder that has no qualms on killing galactic heroes that were only looking to free their homes from some mad emprah. It's like Peter with the black suit, except on a cosmic level.
Yeah man, she’s besties with Proxima and if Dwarf plays his cards right maybe they’ll become family.
The Black Order got beaten by earth heroes. If any cosmic entity like jean walked up to them they would fall over themselves to speed it up. The newest Black Order comic showed how Dickrider kicked their asses without any effort involved.
They're mook villains, getting beat is their whole deal. when they first showed up they had a great showing against earth's heroes, not black dwarf, Corvus and Dupergiant tore through the x-mansion and Proxima nearly killed Monica Rambeau and broke Luke Cafe's ribs, not to mention the alternate deaths where they slaughtered everyone like the supreme power universe. But in the end of the day they're villains, and their job is to lose to the heroes.
That should be earths, not deaths. My bad.
Clarification: Side villains. In Marvel, main villains like Thanos and Doom either get to rise the gravy train all the way to omnipotence or start off being ultra cosmic horrors like Abraxas. Only side character villains job.
Remember that time Selene Gallio just kind of turned into a goddess by eating enough souls? That was a thing. That was a thing that happened.
And then the multiversal collapse ended and her god got revealed as the sham he is. And when all was said and done, her family was still dead, the other swans were all dead, and both the illuminati and the cabal disbanded. She was left totally alone, and the things she had devoted her life to since she was a kid now were gone.
But she got along well with Corvus and Proxima, so when they invited her into the Black Order she accepted, and now she's no longer feeling the crushing loneliness and sense of impending doom anymore.
Yes, that was a plotpoint that kept getting brought up by Hickman, but has evidently been abandoned. That they're still using Black Swan at all is surprising enough.
Not just villains, they're explicitly henchmen. They're meant to be super powerful henchmen, but they always work for someone else, be that Thanos, Challenger, Grandmaster or Hela.
>X-Men cosmic entity
You don't even need cosmic entities. We saw them get their shit pushed in in Infinity.
The Black Order are strong, but not cosmic entity strong. They're just getting hyped and having characters job to them because of Avengers 4 coming out.
It's kinda weird that Black Swan is so prominent on this hype train, considering she's the one Black Order member that isn't in the MCU.
I want more Black Swan art!
This.
Gladiator could probably solo them.
Read
Maw has to be pretty close to cosmic entity stromg based on how he owned Dr Strange.
>who is Vulcan?
A mistake.
I'd just like to see more of her with her original characterization. She was interesting, maybe the most interesting thing out of that whole ENDA DA WOOORLD shit.
The x-men are really only powerful in their own books, and even then they’ll still job like crazy.
>Gladiator can solo them
When the fuck was the last time that Gladiator solo’d anyone, let alone a team?
Yeah but infinity started with then pushing in everyone else’s shit, everyone is only as powerful as the plot demands them to be at any given time.
I'd like to think Beta Ray Bill or any Herald could handle them. They seem mostly mid-tier power for guys that fuck around in space a lot.
Then again in the new GOTG #1 a black hole trapped in a bunch of people that have personally shown to be able to fly in and out of black holes at their leisure in the past.
Black Swan was explicitly on par or stronger than a Herald of Galactus (Terrax).
Alternate reality Terrax, it's fine
To be honest, that Terrax seems stronger than our one. He was with the Cabal when they were murdering entire alternare Earths. They'd need some serious firepower to do that and it can't all have been coming from Thanos.
Wasn't Black Dwarf like a Hulk-class being? How did Black Swam even manage to do that?
>Luke Cafe's ribs
Luke Cage isn't a heavy hitter, nor is he as tanky as Bendis want people to believe.
>not to mention the alternate deaths where they slaughtered everyone like the supreme power universe.
Having Thanos and Terrax there to do all the heavy lifting definitely helps.
Namor and Black Swan were also pretty high tier at that point. BS was able to damage the Illuminati containment fields when Terrax wasn't. Really the only people not bringing much to the table on that team were Corvus and Proxima.
They did their part.
The bring a strong loving marriage.
IIRC, Black Dwarf soloed Gladiator and other cosmic guys on his own before getting suckerhammered by Ronan, so to speak.
Rich isn't into evil women it's why when Necker revealed she was with AIM he started refusing her help. Black Swan might develop a hate boner for Rich though since he humiliated her twice and threatened her stability with the Black Order and hateboner can turn into obsession.
Didn't exactly solo them. Basically just sucker punched Galdiator while he was talking resulting in Super Skrull restrained him and allowing Ronan the opportunity to one-shot Black Dwarf.
