Yes, and how many iterations has Superman gone though? How many has Mickey gone though?

Action comics is one series.

And I still don't care about any Captain Marvel that isn't a former character from Fawcett

Supermans books havent utterly tanked in sales like Carols.

>whataboutism
Pathetic. Pull that mousecock out of your mouth for a second.

Surely this time they will love her!

Anybody got a comprehensive list or chart of all of Carols cancelled books and how long theyve lasted?

Superman's been around for several decades longer than Carol's been Captain Marvel.

Superman was around several decades before carol even existed

Does that exist?

Captain Reboot

This isnt a reboot in any way. Stop sporting over numbering resets, they're just for normies to get started on.
And stop posting these anecdotal shelf bullshit images all the time as if they prove anything.

An ongoing that only gets 20 issues before renumbering is considered a failure, the longest Captain Carol book (the first) only got to 17. The others didn't even get to 12 (which would be a full year) and the last few didn't even get 6. Even Miles Morales lasts longer on average.

The story is continuing uninterrupted, the renumbering is literally just for normies. "If you want to start here then that's ok" and they expect rational adults to understand this and not through a fucking fit over something totally irrelevant.

That cover artist needs dropped.
The interiors are better,right?

Yeah, it was just the cover. The inside looks fine.

Truth of the matter is, Captain marvel has been relaunched and rebranded pretty much at the same time of every other character in the past few years. There might be a bit more desperate when it comes for her, but for every major event, every other major character also got his pointless relaunch.

Wow, that's a lot of comics. It must be really popular.

And you capeshit faggots will eat it right up
Good golly capeshit fans are the lowest IQ thing on Earth

More like "Captain Failure" lmfao

And it's going to continue, for all characters, because that's what comics do now. They reset a meaningless number in the corner of the cover so that normies will not be intimidated away from buying it. How long are you going to cry over it?

Lol enjoy sjw garbage capefags

I said that myself retard

Holy shit this post is fucking cringe. Are you new or what?

The difference is that people actually buy other character's comic books.

It's not a reboot, just a new volume.

Each one worse than the one before.

When will they get the message?

Of course, Punisher does the same.

>how many iterations has Superman gone though?

Technically speaking, we're back on no.2 - the current Superman is the pre-Flashpoint one, and he's been around since the fifties.

>All women

Hmmm.

>Marvel tries to make Carol the face of Marvel
Fails and people end up hating her
>Square Enix tries to make Lightning the face of FF
Fails and everyone hates her and her games from a story perspsctive

Are there any other examples of this?

oh nononononono

>Are there any other examples of this?
Korra

it already fails when focusing more on stupid sitcom dialogue than fighting a giant sea monster.

Punisher is on volume 12
Captain America is on volume 9
Avengers is on volume 8
Black Panther is on volume 7
Deadpool is on volume 6 (plus oodles of minis & specials)
Moon Knight is on volume 6
Daredevil is on volume 6
Amazing Spider-Man is on volume 5
Thor is on volume 5
Guardians of the Galaxy is on volume 5

>Deadpool is on volume 6 (plus oodles of minis & specials)
Also current run by Skottie Young got cancelled on #15, it's gonna be the last one according to him, yesterday. So much for a popular character am I right fellas?

Superman has restarted his title once

You people love to bullshit. DC has rebooted their entire continuity more than once, so I know for a fact you're wrong, unless the only thing you care about is the fucking number.

wait till her big screen reboot.

I never liked the character of captain marvel even before the reboots. I think the captain marvel movie will be the first mcu film I’m gonna skip ever

This is too good, shelving should be banneable on Yea Forums.

>counting minis as relounch
Nice try cuck baiter

No need, look at the sales report

Hey, it is the fatass user!
How are you doing porky pig? Oh nevermind, just kys kek

He's been around for 2 decades longer than the company marvel.

Mighty Captain Marvel and Captain Marvel by Stohl are literally the same run, it was simply Legacy renumbered. There's nothing distinguishing the last issue of one with the first of the other. This is pretty disingenuous. That's of course ignoring the fact that you used a mini as a relaunch.

>throws a fit over someone calling a renumbering a reboot
>implies they are the ones acting irrationally
Kill yourself shill.

Maybe nuMarvel should stop publishing such utter bullshit, instead of trying to silence everyone for calling a spade a spade.

Attached: marvelcucks.png (289x280, 37K)

Are you retarded? The point is that nobody eats this shit up you faggot.

What?

Do you know what a reboot is?

Not him but if you're going to call renumbering a reboot, then you better expect getting called out for being such a moron. I bet you're also one of these who think Marvel has "rebooted" more times than DC.

>shills still mad people don't give a fuck about their corporate made jargon
Kill yourself.

Thanks for confirming you have no idea of the difference between both terms and why they shouldn't be used interchangeably.

It's a word that has a meaning, and a word that was not created for comics. It's literally objectively not a reboot. What you're doing is the equivalent of "but Drumpf has smol hands!!!" instead of discussion policy.

How many new "Avengers" #1s have there been in that time? How many new "X-Men #1"s? This is just Marvel's business model now. It's not like the previous runs of any of these series get ended because of sales only to start with a new #1 the next month. It's just the way that Marvel is choosing to organize and present their books.

You're talking about something else entirely.

Yes, DC has rebooted continuities many times (across several decades), for many reasons, including messy continuity, to integrate newly purchased intellectual properties en masse, etc. But Marvel has rebooted Carol's Captain Marvel books 7 times in 5 years because each time, the book doesn't sell sufficiently and the only way to garner attention is another relaunch, another #1.

This is the intended premier hero of the Marvel universe, changed to the point of being unrecognizable from her previous characterization, who now can't hold a book for any decent length of time, no matter the creative team or how many times they relaunch it.

Whereas Duggan's lasted like 100 issues or so. It's a function of the quality of the writing, not the character.

You are blatantly ignoring the actual issue, which is that nobody fucking likes this garbage character, no matter how hard nuMarvel tries to shill her.
She's also suffering from the "mere exposure effect"; if people kinda like something, they'll like it even more the more they're exposed to it. If they don't like it, they'll start to hate it, and since nobody liked this character to begin with, now everybody finds her obnoxious.

I really miss his run. Young does not compare.

Exactly. Worst part is that Klein and Young are both great artists, but Young's writing was really bad for this title, and it really wasn't engaging. I came fresh out of Dugganpool and wanted more of that, but Young went hard on Moviepool that I just couldn't enjoy it and dropped it at like #5.

If you go by sales then nobody fucking likes Punisher, Moon Knight, Nova or Sentry either.

Except people actually claim to like Punisher.
Except for that one cumguzzling Carolfag that constantly shits up the board, absolutely nobody likes "Captain Marvel".

Well okay bro, I'm guessing you're in for a hard year when thousands upon thousands more "claim to like" Captain Marvel after the movie.

And a portion of the people who like it will get sick of it.

It depends greatly on the quality of the exposure. I was a huge Deadpool fan back in the C&D days and earlier, then Marvel decided to push him more than ever before, and gave him to fucking Daniel Way.
It took Duggan to make the character decent again, a long time later.

Carol has been in that "Way" phase since KSD, but harder than Deadpool ever was, and I don't think anyone ever liked her as much as DP's fanbase liked him pre-Way.

Morrison : Green Lantern :: Thompson : Captain Marvel

>Send post

>I'm guessing you're in for a hard year when thousands upon thousands more "claim to like" Captain Marvel after the movie.
You mean after it bombs, since the star of the movie keeps telling everyone to not see it, while simultaneously being a massive cunt?

Attached: Captain Triggered.jpg (849x676, 26K)

>Punisher
I mean, he at least sells merchandise, even if selling comics seems to be a little out of reach.

I don't get why the fuck they gave it to Thompson either. She has literally never written a good comic in her life, and unlike the usual SJW shilling, I would think that nuMarvel would at least give enough of a shit to put out a good comic when it's trying to shill for the movie, which they actually need to make money.

40% of Marvel is just like that, who cares, don't like it, don't buy it, sooner or latter Disney will close the comics and all will be just the cartoons ........

>You mean after it bombs
Bait. twitter.com/ErikDavis/status/1098696669439262720
>since the star of the movie keeps telling everyone to not see it
She didn't say such thing, though. That headline was clickbait and you fell for it.

Attached: Screenshot_20190222-091330~01.png (480x475, 149K)

Dude, they're ALREADY doing damage control for Captain Fungusfoot.
There is literally nothing appealing about this movie, and Larson constantly acting like a gigantic cunt isn't helping either.

Attached: DABZAM.jpg (947x647, 65K)

Seems like it worked, though, look at the sales report for January... First time Captain Marvel sells that much. Also she wrote Kate Bishop, which is well regarded.
Okay I can see you're very interested in having a collected, well reasoned discussion here.

>Also she wrote Kate Bishop, which is well regarded.
"Knockoff Cunteye" is not well regarded.

Fuck, I read this post and for some reason my screen is all stained in Cheeto dust now. Did this happen to anyone else?

>reboot
I don't think you understand what that word means

Isn't that what cape comics do? If you want fights, read a shonen.

So 32 issues by Deconnicl and 20 by Stohl. Marvel relaunches made it looks worse than it really was.

No, the rest of us don't work unpaid jobs.

Attached: FOR FREE.jpg (320x401, 66K)

Cringe

With the movie coming up and all the shilling efforts going on, is that a surprise?

Funny because people here repeatedly claimed that it would be relaunched once again to fit with the movie "once this run failed", yet both Stohl's miniseries and Thompson's new run are top sellers right now.

It will have one more after the movie.
If it cant survive post-MCU they'll let it die.

Technically Life of Captain Marvel was their attempt to predict what the movie was about and do pre-synergy, but we know they fuck those up every time.

Life of shouldn't count since it was a mini the whole time.

Well I don't know what origin the movie gave her, but if it's anywhere close to the mini, I would say that's good enough.
>It will have one more after the movie
Read the post right above yours.

That's not really the point though. The point is that they're trying to boost sales through renumbering far more often than should be necessary or reasonable. It stinks of desperation.

Once again, they do this with every other series, this is nothing special. Captain America had literally three different runs during a single year (Spencer, Waid and Coates), all with different numbering and continuity. It's par for the course.

How many of those can get more than 10 issues though?

The difference being that some people actually bought those books.

Attached: dabbing octopus man.jpg (310x271, 24K)

I don't think Waid's run lasted 10 issues.

Literally 3 in 60 years

Roman Reigns.

Yeah his run got rushed because Secret Empire was gonna change shit up so his run had to end short enough to be just a single trade.

How many times will the goalposts be moved in this thread?
