Fuck , thanks for reminding me about this show, completely forgot about it until now.
I just remember that I enjoyed it a lot as a kid.
My sister watch the shit out of it now she's in love with Paris.
Wasn't it on HBO? We couldn't afford that when I was a kid.
I remember she got appendicitis
The first special aired on HBO, but the rest of the specials, as well as the first season originally aired on The Family Channel (Which is now called Freeform). The second season originally aired on ABC. In June 1997, Disney Channel picked up the reruns for their preschool block and would eventually air new episodes on their Playhouse Disney block in 2000 with the show having a third season
This was the fucking shit
This is probably the show that made me feel like I didn't give a shit for watching "girl" cartoons
That and the CD rom game
I remember it, but it never interested me.
I had what I guess was one of the specials on VHS as a kid. All I remember is that there was a part were Madeline sang about wanting to go home.
WE LOVE OUR BREAD
WE LOVE OUR BUTTER
BUT MOST OF ALL
WE LOVE EACH OTHER
That first winter 'special' where she gets ill was amazing
A very cozy and endearing show
So...did she live in a Catholic orphanage or something?
>t.one who never read the nursery books
I only ever read the books and watched pic related.
I like her accent.
>I remember she got appendicitis
That is literally the only episode I remember watching. Somehow it was burned into my brain and I forgot everything else.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to fuck a 2D kid.
There's an episode where she goes to New York and they just go to the World Series Yankees game on a fucking whim. As if the tickets wouldn't be sold out or astronomically priced.
Not a mention of the UPA short? Ok.
Poorly disguised R34 request thread is poorly disguised.
what's that?
>BIRDS OF A FEATHER
>FEATHER FEATHER FEATHER
Super comfy.
Did the actress grow up to be hot?
She's very teeny tiny, diminutive petite
It's supposed to be a boarding school, but even a couple of the specials muddle it up.
I had a crush on her when I was a little kid.
But inside, she's "tall".
And that's all there is. There isn't anymore.
Me too.
I have a very high opinion of French women since then.
Always pissed off when this was on Disney Channel instead of shit I liked like Tailspin or Dinosaurs
I watched the cartoon on vhs tapes a lot and really liked them, though I don't remember them anymore. I do remember bits of the movie though, the part where the little girls were being forced to make lace actually taught me how to braid for the first time kek
Madeleine is supposed to be an American girl though.
Which is weird, cause why would American parents send their daughter to a French boarding school?
>Playhouse Disney
Brings back memories.
Which is also doubly wrong since French women are also notoriously promiscuous and rebellious compared to sweet Madeleine.
This is purely anecdotal so take it with a grain of salt.
Oddly enough, I hate the French these days. Still have a thing for red heads.
>red heads.
Everyone does.
I'm referencing the books, where Madeleine is American.
Not sure about the series, been over a decade and a half since I last saw any of it.
I remember playing the point-and-click games back when I was a zygote. That and all the Humongous Entertainment games. I don't remember the show at all though.
This was my first exposure to the series.

It scared the shit out of me.
Loved it growing up. like the movie because i was still young when it came out. I had some books too
Madeline was definitely an orphan
Pepito in the live action movie for 8 year old me
wow fucking nightmare fuel
She wasn't in the books, and the specials and series keep it vague.
Not in the 1930s it wouldn't.
You sure about that? I don't remember the books saying anything about where she was from.
I love this show.
i looked it up and from what little info i can find its not explicitly in the books and more the authors intention. the movies took liberties probably because it doesnt seem like a school. also whos parents dont come see their 7/8 year old with appendicitis
This episode may or may not have given me a weird fetish.

This show made me obsessed with france as a kid
fucking loved that game as a kid, the map mini-game is probably the only reason I know most of Europe flags now. Also remembering monetary systems before the euro.
