The 90s-2000s Authority books are good. In their classic Wildstorm versions Apollo has a very serious Batman-like personality (minus the no kill rule) and Midnighter is a creepy weirdo who’s just as sexually attracted to violence and murder as he is to men. One time he sodomizes a bad guy with a jackhammer. All-around loveable freaks.
Post-New52 Midnighter retains his edgy personality for the most part and starts sexually harassing Dick Grayson in their team-up stories. It’s pretty fun. Him and Apollo are retconned to on-and-off lovers instead of a married couple and are made a bit younger, and Apollo is basically downgraded to the status of trophy husbando. Middy’s solo books are fun if you like snarky, ultra-violent anti-heroes, just be warned that it’s also pretty gay. Should be obvious, I guess.
