I can't see Foxx as JJ at all. Admittedly he might have the range, but I'm used to seeing him play smooth and calculating characters who would have those pictures of Spider-Man without even having to ask.

The problem i always have is they dont just change the characters skin tone, but also almost always strip away the personality and they dont look anything like the original. I can see it working with the current modern direction they have spidey going in. I can see Crews being a charming publisher who's tapped into the zeitgeist of New York and knows how to sell a story and motivate his staff, but then crack the shits and slam his fists down on the desk if another paper gets a scoop he doesnt. Having JJJ as a multi platform publisher like they've had him in the new game would be a fun use of Crew's voice range. Pete could listen to a podcast while swinging around and have Jonah deliver key information pertinent to the villain or even Peter's own arc.

I think he has the charisma. And if you're going to top JK Simmons then you need that in spades.
