I ran a community and had help, but yes. I recall vividly laughing and showing my posts and being mocked for them. then being terrified when more and more people kept doing it. It seemed fun at first. Then one day it wasn't a joke anymore, I realized it was something a lot of people took seriously and molded their lives around.
