Barcelona have an experienced squad of players who have actually won shit unlike Liverpool. And player for player, Barcelona are (marginally) better than Liverpool. Pique and Lenglet are just as good of a CB partnership as Van Dyke and Matip. Robertson and TAA are good but Alba and Semedo/Roberto are better, especially Alba who is amazing on the left flank. Liverpool's midfield is also simply inferior to Barcelona's right now considering that they're work-rate players who aren't creative enough. Busquets, Arthur, and Rakitic have all been great in maintaining midfield stability with Vidal and Alena bringing in some decent depth. Last but not least, Barcelona's front three work better as a group than Liverpool's front three - yes, even Ratking who's done fuck all in the CL is still instrumental when it comes to creating space for Messi and Dembele. On top of that, Barca have Coutinho who - although has been very on and off - offers just enough creativity to make a blootah happen when they need it. Do I even have to mention Messi who has literally turned games around all on his own in almost every CL game he's played in this season?
The overall tie is 60-40 in favor of Barcelona. To stop Liverpool, all they have to do is clog up the midfield and maintain superiority with calm ball possession as seen with Liverpool's poor away games against PSG and Napoli and the first game at Anfield against a Bayern who didn't offer a shot on target but at the same time heavily restricted Liverpool as well. Liverpool's midfield deficiencies play into Valverde's strengths as a manager - he's pragmatic and has kept Barcelona very stable against meme-pressing teams like Betis.
