Why does Yea Forums care about mass produced pop that's scientifically designed and focus-grouped to be generally agreeable background music and nothing more? This is an enthusiast board. Imagine trying to keep a Mitsubishi Mirage General going on /o/, or bragging about your iPhone SE on /g/.
Why does Yea Forums care about mass produced pop that's scientifically designed and focus-grouped to be generally...
so are you somehow suggesting that scientists are less than enthusiasts?
hmmm, yes
No, the scientists are industry experts paid large amounts of money to do one thing and do it well. Create generally agreeable but artistically empty pop music for people who couldn't name two artists.
Do you think the engineers who designed the Mitsubishi Mirage are idiots? Of course not. They weren't trying to make a car for enthusiasts. They were trying to make a cheap appliance.
actually it's an IMAGE board that has enthusiasts come and go, but it is primarily for underage losers who like imagine dragons abd whatever fantano says to like, and it's filled with paid shills and not a lot of real people post in comparison to what are essentially bot threads to promote teen trash
You forgot the Richard Branson tier idealistic maverick cottage industry entrepeneurs
why would any major corporation shill here? i never understood the logic behind that
Why wouldn't they?
>completely deniable
>"""native advertising""" / """viral marketing"""
>almost free (pay an indian $5 and he'll make a hundred posts)
You're a fucking idiot if you run a marketing department and don't shill on Yea Forums. It's like, the fourth largest English language forum; has a significant impact on internet culture, and is completely unmoderated (unless you hurt a janny's feefees)
There is no risk, almost no cost, and thousand of ad views in the all important "native / viral advertising" context.
well said
there is great pop music and to pretend otherwise is foolish
Art and science are different things.
Also
>bragging about your iPhone SE on /g/
That absolutely happens lol.
this does not contradict the point made in the OP
a 2002 Honda Accord is a great car, but it will never be an enthusiast's car.
fair point
Why do you assume technology and music are comparable?
It sounds good, and I want to listen to music that sounds good.
Define "pop." Do you mean modern pop, classic pop like Sinatra, 80s-90s pop like, or all of the above?
Ignore the "like" I forgot to delete.
Watch your mouth, AKB48 is godtier
It sounds bland and uninspiring, what you want is literally elevator music
No and no.
astute post
Why are pop fans always so glib?
>he said, glibly.
fuck off faggot. maybe you will be happy if you actually listen to what you like instead of what Yea Forums tells you too.
I used to be only have obscure eclectic tastes in music until I had to drive with friends around and was embarrassed that none of my music was fun and bummed/bored the shit out of people
>This is supposed to be an enthusiast board
You're still engaging music as a commodity in spite of all that blabber
I do and I am happy thanks, what I like isn't pop and I can't see any sentient human preferring mass produced corpo-pop.
I've literally never had a problem finding something fun to put on because I listen to good music, not tryhard noise shit. The vast majority of good music is not the sort of chartbait I'm bitching about, although some of it is "poppy".
Good music is subjective idiot
Sure, if you think radio static and music are equivalent.
iPhone SE is the only post-Steve Jobs iPhone /g/ likes though.
Daily reminder that anybody that mentions/discusses Taylor Swift on this board is either an incel or a troll.
It all started when Basedfork and Basedtano became extra poptimist. Just goes to show you the vast majority of Yea Forums consists of lemming plebeians.
>that absolutely happens
no it doesn’t you fucking retard
There is no way to accurately observe the number of impressions a Yea Forums thread makes. The most you can go off of are the number of replies and unique posters, both of which can easily be faked. There is no way to control how long a thread stays up, requiring constant attention from the shill. Not only would marketing on Yea Forums require much more effort than other venues, you can't even gauge how successful it is to begin with. Exactly what data are you going to report to your manager? The absolute best case scenario is that your thread hits the bump limit of 300 posts. Now, how many people do you think use Yea Forums every day? The larger the number is, the worse it makes your argument looks.
What's funny about this is that /g/ begrudgingly recommends (or used to recommend) the iPhone SE because of their hatred for large phones. And /o/ is basically one shitbox thread after another. A few years ago the Volvo 240 was the reigning God there, thankfully they've all started to crash or rust out so that they've moved on to other things.
7/10 troll
>TFW absolutely nobody on Yea Forums shares my enjoyment of Paul Shapera's works
some elevator music is pretty fucking good not gonna lie
How can I have forced sex with that seemingly underage bitch?
d***n type thread lbr
This board is dead since fantano got big
too many layers of irony
the /o/ and /g/ comparisons suck because their board topics are 100% product and not art. There is only mass produced mediocrity in either of those fields
How ya doin, Arjun?
