dude, Daughters is some of the most based shit I've listened to lol.

but that's not a band user

i know right? daughters are incredibly based.

It's my one man band nine inch dick

As much as I find Daughters overrated, I really wanna agree. But desu Daughters' first two albums blow DG's entire discography out of the water in terms of abrasiveness (outside of Ride's vocals).

YWGWYW, on the other hand, sounds like nothing but overrated pop-noise-rock. Literally a watered-down Jesus Lizard tribute album.

I'd do a 180 on pop so fucking fast if any of it actually sounded like YWGWYW.

What I meant by "pop" is that Daughters sounded completely accessible on that album in comparison to their earlier stuff, where they pretty much sounded inaccessible as fuck then.

Granted, their S/T had more accessible-sounding songwriting, but it's still pretty evident that the zoomer fantanofags not only liked the album because their daddy music critic recommended it to them, but also because of the fact that it sounds relatively milquetoast & easy-to-digest compared to some of the more truly innovative, abrasive-sounding noise rock albums out there (i.e. TVU's first two albums).

>TVU isn't accessible
(You)

The more accessible-sounding tracks on TVU&N sounded extremely poppy/catchy as fuck, but the band obviously did not fuck around when it came to the more noiser, literally abrasive parts of that album.

And as for a good bulk of WL/WH, forget about it. Sister Ray makes Daughters' entire discography sound like as if it were made by pre-pubescent girls.

Boris with Merzbow

Neither of them are abrasive. I've played TVU to people who aren't even into music and the only song anyone ever stopped at was The Black Angel's Death Song. Sister Ray is just a lo fi rock song.

Daughters aren't inaccessible because most people are already accustomed to that kind of music thru the years.

>Daughters aren't inaccessible because most people are already accustomed to that kind of music thru the years
>most people

t. someone who has literally never listened to Daughters' first two albums

Its a somewhat experimental grind, yeah, what about it?

>what about it?
Try playing any track off of those first two records (especially their debut) to some random average joe who's only ever liked/listened to what was spoonfed to him/her on the radio, and tell me if they're even close to accustomed to listening to that type of stuff (let alone any other type of "experimental grindcore").

not a lot of ppl arent actively listening to experimental grindcore but most ppl kno it exists. it wouldnt be shocking to anybody.

Pretty much every city here has a ND worship band, so most people would have heard grind before. Being accustomed to something doesn't mean you have to actively love it. Or is your argument that they're abrasive because people who aren't into the genre and listen to top 20 radio wouldn't listen to them? Then everything except for like 5 genres is abrasive.

>most ppl kno it exists
You'd be surprised, my man. I personally know people who have never even come close to listening to any type of music like that.

see

And I personally don't know any. What does that even prove? Grindcore has been played even on fucking BBC fucking One, Napalm Death have been in chart shows before. Its not some secret cult. And again, if you're measuring "abrasiveness" by what some 2005 born zoomer listens to then the master of transgressive abrasiveness must be Leonard Cohen.
