Pretty good post-punk. However, I prefer PiL’s stuff. Yea Forums loves this album since Scaruffi does

bold, fun, fresh. sounds like 90s music made in the 70s
amazing

I like the second one better

If you like it then I hate it.

It's alright, I prefer post-punk on the darker side. It sounds amazing though, incredible bass tone.

>filtering opinion through the "genre" the album is supposed to belong to
don't. it's limiting.

Annoying garbage

same goes for you I don't think Pere Ubu were going out of their way to make "post-punk" on purpose. they probably didn't even get called that back then. they just got pigeonholed in there later on by music journalists and such

Dub Housing is the patrician's choice

>debate with me on an unrelated issue
>give me more attention

A really great album, probably even one of my all time favourites, also a good hipster filter

dude he just doesn't like it, fucking tripfag attention whore

I find the poetry and delivery fascinating. Street Waves is goat

Devastatingly beautiful, but not without a sense of humor. Few other bands have been able to capture the sense of frustration and despair of the decaying industrial societies in midwestern America during the 70s. Depressing to think that most of the "alternative" music today is just watered down radio rock to be sold at Starbucks counters.

Their first 3 albums are all top-tier post punk. Modern Dance is only the most famous due to being the most accessible.

Its good, but scaruffi overrated it massively as well as the entirety of Pere Ubu.
Its more of a solid 8 to me,not a fucking fat 9 and as another user said,PiL is better

Nobody sounded like this when it came out. That’s why Scaruffi had a boner for it. It’s got some good grooves on it but not very significant today. Didn’t age well

>Nobody sounded like this when it came out
Come on now, even fucking Christgau gave it A-

Name one band who sounds like Pere Ubu in 1975. Take your tim

Sorry, I'm a bit drunk and read your sentence wrong

Put down the bottle get your life together

they're putting out their final album in 3 months boys

I got a day off tomorrow, I'm good

Oh okay carry on then

based Scaruffi drone

Thanks you too ;)

Pretty much a perfect album. Everything you could ever want from a post punk album wrapped up in just over 36 minutes of music. Not a moment of filler on that album. Truely a work of genius.

captures the same mood as no wave in general for me, i.e. dancey and fun with uncomfortable anxious future shock vibes underneath. there's something about the sardonic delivery of pere ubu and the almost exploding but restrained chaos of it all that really brings it home. also they're from ohio so what more could you want?
