how do you like Shuffle Drones? Eluvium is one of my favourit musicians but I haven't heard that experiment yet
with that said, rec the rest of eluviums discography
I've really enjoyed it. I've played it conventionally and then I've played it on shuffle for a while. It's beautiful but the downside with streaming on shuffle is there seems to be a split second of silence while it chooses which track to play next which is a shame as it ruins the shuffle drone illusion. The good thing is that I actually forget I've left it on repeat while I'm reading/working. I'm dipping into Eluvium's other stuff at the moment and it's incredibly pretty, I'm really enjoying what I've heard so far, I love ambient music but some reason just never listened to Eluvium before. There's a few other ambient artists I'm dipping into too like Stars of the Lid which I never got around to listening to before, they're fantastic too.
never actually listened to stars of the lid myself.. maybe it's time for me too! thanks for the rundown on shuffle drones, might pull the trigger on his bandcamp then.
Go for it, buddy, they seem like a versatile bunch with a modest collection of very well-received albums. I listened to Gravitational Pull vs The Desire For An Aquatic Life which was a beautiful mix of field recordings, warm drone and some quiet melodies.
Foisey - Frutas
J. Dilla - Ruff Draft
Good list, especially the Kanye, Beach House, and Zappa albums.
Man, I need to get back into vaporwave sometime, it's such a lovely aesthetic. +SaintPepsi, AphexTwin, Vaperror, Saint Pepsi, Bobby Caldwell. Just checking out Mere Notilde now too so +them too.
cupcakke is one of the few artists to make me blush, that girl nasty
Maybe you're already aware of it, but there's a great 2pac song that sampled Caldwell's What You Won't Do For Love. It introduced me to Caldwell and it's maybe one of my favourites of 2pac's smoother tracks.
+Microphones/Mt Eerie
johnny thunders - so alone
guided by voices - propeller
Thanks, user, checking out Johnny Thunders now and this is cool stuff. If you like Blur, have you tried The Bluetones or Ocean Colour Scene? There's a bunch of underrated britpop bands, I used to be a massive fan of the stuff back in college.
Algiers - the underside of power
Phill niblock - touch works for hurdy gurdy and voice
Lilacs & champagne - s/t
Black sun productions - the impossibility of silence
Nurse with wound - who can i turn to stereo
i dig ocean colour scene but i've never listened to the bluetones, i'll check em out
Thanks, will check out Algiers and Phill now. How's that Faust vs Dalek? Been meaning to get into Faust, love Dalek. You might like a group called Wraiths, ritualistic dark ambient. Their album Dust In Our Mouths is a good one.

Grails - deep politics
35007 - liquid
Keaton henson - kindly now
Sup weeb
Rights for gays oh yeah
Maus called gay rights. Dudes nostradomus.
Goddamn, that Keaton Henson rec is pretty on the money. Would like it if the album was a little more raw though, getting a Julien Baker x Josh Ritter vibe but it kinda lacks a unique character.
faye wong - 浮躁 Fúzào
I sometimes feel like I have less of a taste in music and more of a random collection of bullshit that appeals to me, despite not being able to explain it
Solitude aeturnus - into the depths of sorrow
J tillman - singing ax
Alison krauss & union station - new favorite
You may also want to check out listener - wooden heart, its got spoken word vocals that may take some getting used to but you seem to like that sort of vulnerable emotional indie stuff
deine lakaien - kasmodiah
Recommend My Friend The Chocolate Cake to everyone. They just keep getting better.
Plastic Ono Band was amazing. Wonderful with great lyrics that still feel very relevant.
