Almost a decade of people asking for Switch But Faster

>almost a decade of people asking for Switch But Faster
>nintendo will inevitably come up with something no one asked for
>wtf why did it go wrong :(

I imagine they are going to take another crack at VR again.

what people want
>switch 2
>backwards compatible

what people will get
>nintendo vrswitch
>comes with a vr headset you put your phone into
>switches from vr to mobile gaming

VR is performance intensive and Nintendo hates fast consoles since the GC
That can only go right

>switches from vr to mobile gaming
please don't give them ideas AAAAAA

Giving people more of what they did with the Wii is why the Wii U flopped, that's what they're worried about.

Nintendo will shit out a Switch 2 as soon as the chipshortage problem has gone back to normal.

The chinese bioweapon virus fucked it up for everyone. I guess we will see new consoles in 2025.

How can they be this fucking stupid? Just do what every other long-term successful electronics product line does and release a new, more powerful iteration with a higher number at the end. See: Playstation, phones, etc.

If they do anything other than a Switch 2 that's backwards compatible then they're fucking stupid.

the name is why the wiiU flopped. It was also incredibly under powered. If they make a Switch4k people will buy it. I'm talking 1080p screen, 4k output

Does nintendo even have VR worthy games besides zelda?

This is a dumb meme literally only redditors bleieve, only because they invented it.

No normal person gives a fuck about 4K. They should continue to use 720p/1080p output, the stronger hardware in a hypothetical Switch 2 would be used for better framerates, visuals and higher resolutions in games like Xenoblade with dynamic res that drop extremely low on the current Switch.

ok retard. the WiiU was a great name and marketing has nothing to do with selling video game consoles. It was also way overpowered for it's time and reasonably priced. Also the table was beautiful and an amazing innovation

>No normal person gives a fuck about 4K
the only TVs that are sold today are 4k. everyone cares about 4k. nobody would buy a 1080p tv, why would they buy a 1080p console?

I could see Splatoon or Arms working decently well in vr

Why would a company known for low power outdated hardware jump to 4k?

>why would they buy a 1080p console?
For the same reason why buy the current Switch, you fucking mongoloid. 4K is a standard feature of TVs, no one actually cares about it.

>company wants to alleviate the risk of resetting its userbase
How about not forcing a new store where people have to rebuy their switch games again like they've done from the wii to wii u to 3ds to switch?

If the next console is not portable, its gonna fail, the portable factor is why switch is a success

A decade of people feeling retarded for buying into some retard's internet rumor wholesale.

because 4k has been the standard for 4 years now

>4K is a standard feature of TVs, no one actually cares about it.
you're saying if playstation 5 was 1080p and xbox was 4k it wouldn't impact the sales of the ps5 at all?

The name and marketing combined with devs thinking they HAD to develop using the gamepad screen and didn't want to is why it flopped, the system was fine in terms of power.

Don't forget a la Wii U
>Called Nintendo vrswitch
>Doesn't play any switch games

>switch 2 with compatibility to run past games with improved performance and load times
Can you imagine

Forever children's tablet stuck in 720p 10fps

Reminder that the current Tegra chips have DLSS, RTX, are like 10x as strong as the one in the Switch, and it's STILL only using up 10W.
The only reason we're not getting a Switch 2 is because Nintendo is terrified of making a powerful console again.

Attached: 1627642587865.png (2500x1604, 1.85M)

the WiiU played Wii games. i played the prime trilogy a few days ago

If I was Nintendo and I was known for doing 1-2 generation behind hardware updates I'd be concerned too when you can't do the update because of chip shortages and what not. Maybe they'll solder a few Wiis, Wii Us, and Switches together and call that their new console.

stop hating people more successful than you, commie
nothing wrong with them running a business

>nintendo doesnt know why the switch was a success
They are so stupid

>>almost a decade of people asking for Switch But Faster
>switch came out 5 years and 2 months ago
take your meds please

>>nintendo will inevitably come up with something no one asked for
like they did after the wii u right?

Yeah you're right user it's stupid fucking name and shitty marketing wasn't the reason it died at all also it wasn't like anyone confused it with pic related or anything

>snoy thread

Meh, it's not like anyone expects Mario to be raytraced

Dude, until switch all nintendo consoles had full backward compatibility

Take your meds, faggot.
We may see something at the end of the month with DQ day at may 27, doubt they will talk directly about Nintendo next console but considering that DQXII is going to be a U5 game we may learn something from it.

>my adult playing video games machine is so much more mature
do you even play games or do you just jerk off to lolis all day

Only thing portables, the Wii and WiiU.

A huge clunky dogshit expensive Gamepad is nothing like the Wii. They took the Wii name, threw a terrible gimmick with it, and launched it with zero games. It didn't flop because it was just more Wii

If the subtitle is true then that implies they intend to do Switch 2 because they wouldn't want to drive away 80% of it's userbase.

>and launched it with zero game
Reminder that wiiu had one of the best home console libraries, ever

>Nintendo b8 & Switch

yeah I remember how the Gamecube could play N64 carts

It doesn't even need to be super powerful. Plus they'd just be making a system that already sells millions even better. If they can't fucking see making a backwards compatible successor is the right call then fuck em. I'm not buying some stupid VR machine or some other dumb gimmick. God it's so fucking easy, but boomber jap businessman don't listen.

I don't get why OP is inrterpreting the headline that way, when it's basically the opposite.
Is OP mentally ill?

>The transition is a major concern
I agree

No one cares about moviegoing faggots.

People who buy handhelds want games.

The problems of the "next-gen" switch are the size, weight, power life, and temps. It's next-gen, or mobile, you can't have both on its own dedicated hardware. Only way you can have next-gen wireless is through streaming, either locally through wifi, or through internet, server-side like stadia or whatever the nvidia one was called.

>If they can't fucking see making a backwards compatible successor is the right call then fuck em.
One of reasons why ps5 software sales were so bad was because there no reason to care about new shitty games, when you can play your entire old library on it.
Just saying

>It can't play any Switch games, but you can pay $59.99 a year to play a rom of some GC games like Mario Sunshine, Chibi-Robo and Geist.

switchU

The Wii U was conceptually flawed having been built from the ground up on the same casual-oriented blue ocean premise the Wii had been. Hoping to sell casual consumers on a low cost, low power console using a gimmick (the gamepad) as the hook. The problem was that the casual market was long dead by the time the Wii U arrived. Wii sales had fallen off a cliff in 2010 and what once was a blue ocean market was now dominated by smart phones and tablets.

A better name or marketing wouldn't have resolved the issue when the first two years of games were all casual bait, rehashes, and remakes and the console itself was built with casual consumers in mind.

The Switch worked because instead Nintendo initially targeted core users and later transitioned to casual users using games (animal crossing and clubhouse games) and affordability as the hook rather than the central gimmick (notice how casual users are more inclined to buy a switch lite, a system that abandons the central gimmick of the console).

This.
But Nintendo is retarded every second gen. Let's hope this time is different.

If it's not called the Switcharoo, I ain't buying!

>want switch 2
>get switch: go
>ring fit permanently attached

It must be fucking horrifying to be Nintendo, with a cycle of success and failure. GameCube, Wii, Wii U, Switch, with the GBA, DS, and 3DS, that must have been a fucking Rollercoaster. Especially when the hits of DS and Wii carried into the shaky 3DS and abysmal Wii U.

Can't wait to watch it flop, if they even last long enough to release another console

Simple, make it backwards compatible. Use a better tenga chip or whatever and offer backwards compatibility and don't disconnect your older store out of spite.
Nigga it's EZ

Making the exact same console but stronger as their next console is the worse idea ever

I wonder why they don't "hire the fans", right?

>shitch has hit its plateu
>tendies already panicking because they know what comes next
delicious

>>shitch has hit its plateu
retard

Only fools have no worries for the future user

They can literally make a switch 2/pro that's also backwards compatible and it will sell like crazy.

It's a mix of things, the casual market didn't die, it still exists on phones and such. They wanted to appeal to everyone by having the gimmicks and the "core gaymer" stuff at the same time, and only managed to confuse people with a new gamepad that everyone not in the know thought it would connect to their old wii, then a slew of controllers for specific types of games. It had troubled messaging that they needed to cut down. They needed to pick an audience and deliver for it, instead of chasing a general audience that doesn't really exist.
If they had catered to the grandmas and boomer dads only they could have managed to succeed, but they tried to ensnare everyone and got fucked raw.

whatever they do
KEEP USING FUCKING CARTRIDGES

you are a faggot who clearly lacks an understanding of the switch's primary audience

Only fools worry about the future. That's the source of anxiety. The future isn't here yet, and when it is, it's the present. There is no past, no future, only an eternal now.

The only real reason Nintendo's next-gen hybrid handheld might have a 2160p screen is it would allow them to have clean 720p and 1080p output on a single device. More importantly, it would allow them to cleanly output 540p.

Those consoles are hitting a dead end. Sony wouldn’t be trying to break into the pc market if this weren’t true. Microsoft already had a pc market so they’re getting out ahead. steam is under a lot of fire because they control most of the market since they were there first and never gave up on the pc market

Next year will probably be it since BOTW2 is coming

>A major concern
yeah concerned about how much money they will lose by not continuing to sell more Switches.\
Raelly though look at the numbers, the Switch has almost as many sales as the DS. They want to avoid a repeat of the DS -> 3DS, same with the Wii -> WiiU both successors did extremely poorly compared with its predecessor

All they have to do is make another ARM console that is backwards compatible, also give the option of a TV Only NUC.

To worry doesn't mean crying because shit is happening, it mean accepting it's happening and finding a way to overcome it in the present

A fool can live happily without caring about the consequences of their own action, and eventually cry once those become "the present"
The smart people find a solution so that those consequences will never become "the present"

It's not surprising that a lot of the greatest artists/scientists/etc... were not really fine with their own psyche

Luigi's Mansion/Pokemon Snap would be kino

Just make Switch 2 but call it something funny like Switcharoo

But is the tech currently affordable enough to put in a $300 tablet?

>How can they be this fucking stupid?
A team of competent people is probably getting paid to study if that approach could work or not among other things, meanwhile user #598621849 is doing it for free on Yea Forums

Nintendo, no, don't hire this man, because he is doing the job for free

What if Nintendo made a Switch 2.. And it was called Switch 2.. Because it had TWO screens?
