The biggest and most used leitmotif in the game also belongs to Noel, too. He basically is the main character and Serah is along for the ride.
Also he thought Snow was a dick at first which makes him cool. Caius was a surprisingly good villain, even more so with the fact that he fucking won, was a pretty dark ending.

I didn't play more than about 5 hours but I remember he was in a city that was experiencing a butt load of murders and it was alluded to that it was Noel which I thought was great because I figured after the end of 13-2 he'd snapped and gone fucking nuts.
Turns out it wasnt him, you help him find the real culprits and that's all I ever got up to. Him and Caius really needed a bigger role in that game considering how integral they were to the plot.

It's been years since I played 13-2 to be honest with you. I feel like Noel finished off Caius on the beach of Valhalla but I could be remembering wrong because that game definitively ends with Caius winning and everyone being fucking dead bar him I'm sure of it. You get that cut scene for acing every fight in the Lightning DLC.

13 was awful but fans fixed it, and I think eventually Square Enix fixed it. 13-2 they just left to rot.
IIRC the best part is Noel had no problems voicing it to Serah which makes him cool.

The last showdown Noel has with Caius, with the QTE. Even if you fail the QTE and try to stab Caius Noel refuses in the story, but Caius grabs the blade and stabs himself. The story tells you that Caius can't kill himself and only the Guardian can kill him. Like did Noel just have to hold the sword? Either way Noel was trying to pull it away and he wasn't the one who stabbed him, yet there he is moping about killing Caius in LR.

You know what I'm gonna have to replay this game and find out. I remember in story that Noel would eventually have to kill Caius to gain his power essentially to be able to protect Yeul but she croaked anyway. For what it's worth I'm pretty sure at one point Noel and Caius were good buds and he probably moped because he didnt want to kill him. Wasnt Caius training him after all until he went a bit bat shit?
Noel thinks the end of time from where he is, is all fucked up and lonely so he tries to fix shit in the past and fix anomalies which lead to Yeuls death iirc so it's kinda his fault anyway?
