They ARE bad. The technology for good motion control is too costly so we ended up with waggleshit for an entire generation.

Wiimote + sensor bar was fine for good motion control, games just seldom implemented it well. In shooting games for example, it was a drastic advantage.

i liked them for some games like metroid prime or mario party but in general yeah they are a mistake but if gyro counts its fucking great

Typically yes, they are. They've slightly improved since 2006 but not by enough to justify their existence.
