What's the point in giving the player party members if they explode 10 seconds into any boss fight?
It's an ARPG and they don't even bother programming in that the AI shouldn't waste magic on trying to attack an enemy when it's in an invincible phase.
Kingdom hearts
Sora a cutie
KH1 is the only game that's designed with the party members in mind. If you customize them properly and keep them well-equipped, they can do a lot. They can trivialize Ansem's final form with Aeroga. Hell they can even survive against Unknown to some degree.
>If you customize them properly
aka make them heal bots
DDD did it right of all fucking KH games.
>went to replay the entire series to play KH3
>the entirety of the game is filter where the only important stuff is at the start and ending of the game
>the amount of talk about light and darkness nonsense
>forgot how much of a fucking Gary sue sora is and many more
What the hell was Nomura thinking when he directed this game? The entire series is a waste of time. It's a shame that I still have a love/hate relationship with this series even after the amount shit I experienced again
In KH2, deciding on which party member you take along has actually an impact. You can either use certain drive forms or different limits.
>the entirety of the game is filter where the only important stuff is at the start and ending of the game
You could say the same about FF7 for example. Is Rocket Town important to the narrative of Jenova, Meteor, the lifestream and Sephiroth? Is Cosmo Canyon? Wutai? Wall Market? No, but it doesn't matter because it all makes one big cohesive game. People are so obsessed with pretending that only things involving the OC's are "important" or "canon" they're forgetting how RPGs work.
The worlds in KH are extra inconsequential though. Once a world is over, nobody mentions anything in it again. It really does feel thrown together.
>>forgot how much of a fucking Gary sue sora is and many more
>gary sue
I don't think they really have to, so long as the characters grow from their experiences. No one brings up Corel ever again after Barret's story is done there but he still retains what he learned from it.
>donald and goofy don't call Sora's name when battling the guard armor because they don't know Sora yet
based
Oops you're right. I guess I'll use Mary sue since he's a little bitch
I love the first segments of KH where you don't have any party members.
I feel it loses steam as soon as you have to deal with retards around your screen doing stupid shit.
Action games should NEVER have party members/companions. EVER.
He's not really that much of a Gary Sue honestly
strengths:
>keyblade chose him
>even as a kid he's more powerful than cloud strife, leon(squall), and motherfucking sephiroth
>is better at magic than king mickey's head magician five minutes after meeting him, but maybe you can chalk that up as ludonarrative interference rather than a conscious decision
>extremely attractive
flaws:
>naive dumbfuck, easily tricked, doesn't know to ask the right questions
>kind of a bitch: lets people run away every time
>What's the point in giving the player party members if they explode 10 seconds into any boss fight?
This was literally only a problem in KH1 with Donald. Or I guess if you do Critical on KH2FM or something.
KH3 felt really empty, i might be crazy but i can't stop thinking that this game had last minute changes, frozen world felt weird how the story goes, climbing up and down instead of following the story to the twist isn't something that kingdom hearts would do normally, and also why was roxas so OP for being NPC? were they planning us to play as him and having axel and xion as teammates?
>Sora
>Gary Stu
How?
>keyblade chose him
Only because it had literally no other options.
>even as a kid he's more powerful than cloud strife, leon(squall), and motherfucking sephiroth
Only because he has the real Mary Sue, they keyblade, in his hands.
>is better at magic than king mickey's head magician five minutes after meeting him, but maybe you can chalk that up as ludonarrative interference rather than a conscious decision
He literally only knows fire until he gets some experience, Donald is still leagues above him.
>He literally only knows fire until he gets some experience, Donald is still leagues above him.
Donald literally only knows fire same as Sora. Donald learns spells the same time Sora does. Sora however can use Summons where Donald can't, so Sora has the edge. Not to mention Sora gains limits and other quirks whereas Donald just casts spells.
>Donald learns spells the same time Sora does.
Only in the first game, in later games Donald often knows his own spells.
Plus, he cast Zettaflare in KH3
He casts thunder on Goofy in the opening, so that's just a regular old case of Nomura fucked up, as usual.
That's boring though. What's the point if they're just a third magic/drive bar. I rather access those attacks all by myself then wait for a party member to wake up after death.
>wait for a party member to wake up after death.
Casual, learn to prepare items.
>Wasting items on party members in KH
Dumbass
If you want to pop a limit all you need is a cheapo potion for them to be alive for 1 second
>boohoo I hate having to actually manage my party properly like I would in any RPG
Get good.
i really like u
Donald and Goofy got buffed in 3, both in gameplay and story.
1 second is all it takes for a boss to kill them again.
Actual party management would make sure they can never die in the first place/
You're either slower than a sloth at managing the command menu or you don't have the patience to just wait for a bosses' attack to end.
>Fighting LW.
>Donald revives just in time to get run over by his hover bike again.
i always love when that happens, either donald or goofy get back on their feet only to be OHKO again
thanks
getting the ultima keyblade is now more tedious in KH3, that frozen minigame is bullshit but necessary to get all treasures if you want a stupid material for the ultima. Frozen does not deserve that much importance
It's also the easiest it's ever been since all you have to do is a bunch of pointless minigames.
Literally KH3 has established that Donald is one of the most powerful mage in both the FF and KH world
the sliding one is tedious because you have to slide through the whole map and good luck not taking any wrong turn
KH2 is design to be have the fastest combat in the series where using magic straight from the menu is impossible and the single mispress of a button on the menu could be life and death with bosses are constantly on the offense with wide area attacks. Reviving Party Members is not as simple as you think is it.
It's not so bad. I do think the command menu is awful though.
Good to hear he ascends. I haven't played KH3 yet. Waiting for the game to be complete before I jump in.
i wonder what will reMIND will fix in this game or what new content will they add
May as well get the disappointment out of the way now, the longer you wait the harder you'll be let down.
I can't be disappointed, I'm aware of the good and bad criticism. The longer I wait the less I'll be let down though, people agree that Critical improves the game and the rest of the DLC will likely improve it more.
