Some pokemon work as real life creatures (i.e snorlax), other don't (i.e lickytong).

Because some designs naturally fit being realistic and others are so abstract that they end up looking alien and unnatural.

As far as I care they should all be at least threatening if not terrifying. They are monsters after all.getting run up on by a wild Pokemon no matter how cute should be frightening of you aren't a trainer since almost any Pokemon over level 6 or so could easily kill a human.

All of those look terrible, like those fan-made renders supposed to look weird.

If they were fan made they'd get rightfully shit on for looking absolutely fucking terrible (even the best of them look amateurish), but because they're official people are okay with them. Officiality bias is rampant among Pokémon fans.

Because some look much closer to real life animals than others. There’s a reason why Snubbul and Bulbasaur’s designs work, while Loudred and Machamp’s doesn’t.

I don’t know but I think it’s going to be a mess of a movie but it will make money because all of us 90s kids are nostalgic for our youth.

By Mewtwo being an important character in the Detective Pikachu videogame, duh.

Without spoiling too much, in the game the movie is based on mewtwo is responsible for pikachu being the way he is

Aipom needs to have more monkey-looking teeth and he'd be good tier.

You know they couldn't make Aipom look good so they made it intentionally horrifying

this movie basically follows the entire plot of the Detective Pikachu movie, probably down to the twist at the end so if you want to see it don't put too much research into the game Harry is Pikachu, he got too close to figuring out what the evil corporation was doing with Mewtwo and they used Bill's old bodyswaping technology to shove him into a Pikachu's body to get rid of him

I can't be the only one who thinks Mewtwo looks lewd as fuck, right? He's flesh colored, has some good gains, and it looks like his tail has the same color as his body which makes it look like a giant dick.

He's just a more versatile police dog. It wouldn't mind being used as such since it mostly concerns itself with showing off its gains and getting swole.
