Crimson actually made the real play. Artemesia had successfully frozen time and even isolated Ragna for as much good as it would have done him with his broken body. By giving the dragon twin her hand as well as the gun it allowed the twin to be able to move because she assimilated Crimson's privilege just like Ragna had from Artemesia.
