Why is anime so much more creative and imaginative compared to the 2000s era of cartoons? It didn’t recover until the 2010s and even then anime still has a leg up.

I’m not Industrycuck

I don’t see people self inserting as Luffy while I see tons of people self inserting as Ron and Marco.

Stealth 2000's cartoon appreciation thread?

What’s to appreciate? 2000s was a big dark age for animation.

Remember MegasXLR? Now THAT was a good show

It really wasn’t.

There was no spirituality in 2000s cartoons, no show was trying to have an impact on people. It sucks that oligarchs sucked away true spirituality like religion and older folktales and was replaced with soulless commercial crap for consumer manchildren. To celebrate the 2000s is to celebrate the death of human society.

Here's the thing to understand - according to people who like literature, including many writers like Alan Moore, fiction should mean something. It should say something meaningful about existing as humans in our lives. Watchmen is about the Cold War. Dark Knight Returns is about how great men and mass media can influence minds.

This is important to understand that most 2000s cartoons don't do this. They have some kind of a message or theme, but they're not about it, they only use it as a set dressing, and are primarily disposable pulp entertainment.

So list of 2000s cartoons - GOOD 2000s cartoons that qualify is way shorter than you think. Avatar (original series, not the trash sequels) is about American foreign policy of warmongering. Family Guy and American Dad are about the exploitative nature of animation industry. WITCH is about what distinguishes a human from a god. V for Vendetta is about fascism and anarchism. And Star Wars: The Clone Wars is about how politics corrupt.

>To celebrate the 2000s is to celebrate the death of human society.
Good. Our society has nothing worth preserving.

This. I hate the human society and I will celebrate it crashing and burning.

>Just consooom bro!

Gladly.

You are human rot in physical form.

Yep.

Hell yeah. Fuck the retards that are too busy trying to kill eachother for trying to get me involved in their bullshit. Just let me watch Invader zim in peace.
This unironically

>Avatar (original series, not the trash sequels) is about American foreign policy of warmongering.
>American
Because all the Asian architecture in the Fire Nation is clearly supposed to be indicative of the US.

2000s action animation just hit different

If by hit different you mean shit, then yes I agree.

Hi cuck,

Are there even any action cartoons made for kids anymore? Maybe its just because I've stopped keeping up with every single cartoon post 2013 but I can't really recall any that came out in the past 5 years that weren't maybe She-ra or Voltron

The 2010s had plenty of action cartoons too (ie Amphibia, Voltron, She-Ra, Owl House, Steven Universe, OK KO, etc.)

Marvel cartoons are still around I think, plus CN announced two DC shows and Genndy Tartakovsky cartoon. Other than that, wow most action cartoons really are aimed at older audiences now.

If the 2000s are supposedly the worst decade of animation, then why did it give us some of the best cartoons of all time then, sweaty?
>Peak SpongeBob
>Duck Dodgers
>Megas XLR
>Aqua Teen
>Avatar
>Ed Edd n Eddy
>Flapjack
>My Life As A Teenage Robot
>Danny Phantom

When was brave and the bold?

I fucking hate how WITCHfag ruined any discussion about the show thanks to his autism. I loved how serialized Avatar was so W.I.T.C.H. getting cancelled and Gear getting grinded into Catscratch we’re big blows to me.

Spongebob and EENE is kinda cheating since they were both made on the tail end of the 90's, but given that most of their production and air time was during the 2000s I'll allow it

When I realized I was watching TV just because I was "supposed to" and not enjoying any of that stuff, I just turned it off one day and never looked back.

Holy shit this. This is exactly how people feel about the 2000s.

2008. Late to the party, but still counts as a 2000s show

They cant compare to samurai jack

Fag more people watched Samurai jack and Kim possible now than She ra or Amphibia

*2010s

>>My Life As A Teenage Robot
>>Danny Phantom

Woah hold the line, Nicker, I'll grant Avatar but those two are overrated by autists.

On that note, what the hell happened with action comedies? I remember the 2000s being a golden age for action/comedy cartoons (Kim Possible, Danny Phantom, Teen Titans, American Dragon, Brave and the Bold, MLAATR). Come the 2010s, the only action/comedy cartoon I can think of along those lines is Mao Mao and DC Super Hero Girls.

Avatar is overrated by autists too.

These shows suck fucking ass.

Lol, the 2010s has a solid line up of cartoons. The 2000s don’t have shit on the new age.

Same fag is industry fag.

How come she ra and Owlhouse cant come close to a Nip show that ended 12 years ago?

Heck why can Dyke ra even come close to Kim in popularity

This but with all the shows that (you) like instead. The 2000s were better. End of story

>Heck why can Dyke ra even come close to Kim in popularity
It blows it out of the water in popularity lol. No one gives a fuck about a 20 year old show.

Fact, I get everyone on Yea Forums has a hate boner for the Japanese, but you have to admit that they're the only ones doing a good job these days, even the cg japanese movies are better.

Come on user, we both know you know thats not the case

Oh piss off, 2000s cartoons were fine in imagination and creativity. 2010s and 2020s are complicated to explain.

Does OK KO really count as an action show, though? Yeah it definitely had some fights in a couple episodes but most of them were incredibly basic and most of the show kind of focused on just being a silly comedy. I wanna ask the same for Amphibia and Owl house since I haven't seen either of then.

this again?

>I get everyone on Yea Forums has a hate boner for the Japanese
Wtf are you talking about; every east vs west thread is filled with anons constantly sucking off glorious Nippon.

Nobody here dislikes Japan. We just hate the East vs West faggots.

>I wanna ask the same for Amphibia and Owl house since I haven't seen either of then.
They are not even close to being action shows. I have no idea what the other user was smoking to come to that conclusion.

Nice photoshop

>Fag so ass blasted he has to resort to photo shop excuse...........again

At this point i feel industry cuck is a bot that re uses old shit

So you're basically saying to hate Japan.

>Why is anime so much more creative and imaginative compared
it's really not, I'd argue its ratio is actually worse given how many more anime get made than cartoons
for every Ping Pong or Tatami Galaxy there's about a hundred shitty isekai/moe/edgy anime that get made for every season

The only one of those that even comes close to being an action show is Voltron.
There is no modern action shows made for kids outside of a few superhero cartoons.

>How come she ra and Owlhouse cant come close to a Nip show that ended 12 years ago?

Tbf Owl house has come the closest.......... but is still short by alot.

Homestly this is kinda embarrasing for Owl house

This is quite literally our last hope for children's action cartoons. If CN manages to fuck this up, all action cartoons will be older audiences only from now on.
Which I personally have no problem with but it didn't have to be this way.

Oh great, industrycuck's a weeb now.

>CN fucks it up
>Kids of this generation grow up with only comedies
>Years pass and they grow up thinking that all animation is is just wacky comedy stuff that can't be serious
>Any future adult cartoons that aren't comedies will just be shot down by the mainstream crowd
>Adult animation will never get the recognition it deserves
I fear for the future.

There really is no end to his contrarianism.

who the fuck is Alan Moore? this sounds like pseudo-intellectual hooha for people who can't justify liking something because they like it
you're gay and I bet you'd shit your pants and beg for your life if someone put a knife or gun to your chest
2000's is a decade associated with decline due to 9/11, 2008 market/housing crash, and a somewhat correct, somewhat incorrect consensus as to when a lot of modern issues we face now started to take root. Animation in particular suffered due to the aforementioned recession, and the industry changes brought on both by Boston and to an unknown extent the writer's guild strike. That being said there's a ton of gems from the era, arguably just as much as the 90s.
