this is a problem pretty much every comic spin-off from a cartoon has. instead of hiring an artist with an artstyle that fits the tone or an artstlye already similar to the show they hire somebody and just have them try and emulate the shows artstyle. since the artist is trying to emulate an artstyle it usually comes out wonky in places. imagine if dc had hired someone like gurihiru to do the art instead.

Agreed. I didn't like the art style of the Stretch Armstrong tie-in comic and how different it was from the show, but at least it felt more natural to how the artist draws. It also arguable did a better job capturing the characters' stretchiness than the show did.
