They almost got 90s Mysterio right. He didn't have the "lame" fishbowl head, it was mist.

So this is where the design for ultimate mysterio came from

uh judas Traveller is coming back. We really need to read everything x-men related to know what's going on

>with his pretty red-haired wife... his child on the way
You know editorial's not even paying attention to this mini with JMS just out there saying things.

There's the Ben Reilly I know and love. Not that Chasm freak Lowe pulled out of his ass.

twice as many Betty Brant? why?

The letters pages clarifies that the last two people are Richard and Mary Parker.

Thanks, OP.

This Ben didn't fit Lowe's narrative of him being eternally bitter and jealous of Peter.

Ben knows almost close to nothing about Peter's parents.
Why should he care? and since when Richard Parker is just a Peter Parker look-alike.

And I thought people were just having a giggle when they said the glowing man at the end of Beyond might be Judas.

>Ben knows almost close to nothing about Peter's parents.
Stan Lee introduced the idea of Peter and Mary being spies and Peter posthumously exonerating them, it's part of Ben's history marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Amazing_Spider-Man_Annual_Vol_1_5
>and since when Richard Parker is just a Peter Parker look-alike.
Since always?

Thanks for the storytime

I stand corrected

let's hope the one that also died originally was an aspect too

Bumping for the real Spider-Man comic.

This was my favorite Mysterio outfit. I wonder why they never brought it back or went away with it.

Fun read. It goes without saying I wish we had this Ben for Beyond. Was it ever confirmed that Ben was supposed to get his own series after Beyond? I'm not sure where that came from.

Is the bald guy Sir?

If so, would be odd, considering they removed his cameo from the first issue.

What do you mean? This takes place during the Clone Saga and specifically before MJ's editorial-induced miscarriage.

It was probably just wishful thinking after the Timeless oneshot suggested that he'd be going to LA.

you're forgeting OMIT. Marriage never happened due to retcon

Thanks Op, DeMatteis rarely misses

When Kevin Smith killed him in Daredevil, Quesada wanted him to die in the classic outfit, though he added those eye buttons.

I'm irritated that they're continuing the "Traveller is an illusion casting mutant" thing. It's really fucking easy to retcon. Traveller's problem, too, is that he doesn't fit Spider-Man. He's like a Vertigo character in a Marvel book.

It came from that Kang one shot that was clearly intending to show future plans/storylines and one of them included Ben in Hollywood. But I guess nobody expected Lowe to be such a shitstain.

bump

Filling the holes of how exactly the status quo was in the new reality at that momement seems too extra when you can just say it takes place in the unaltered reality.

Everything else still happened though. They just weren't married for any of it.

They altered that costume in a later Ben Reilly story to bring back the 'fishbowl', so this isn't inaccurate.

Spidercide is a yandere confirmed

they got him without the helmet here how could you tell he was removed? was there a preview difference?

Yeah, he was on Kafka's monitors with the other patients in the unlettered preview pages, but gone in the printed ones.

Great issue, but so bittersweet. Fffffuck Nick Lowe.

Apparently that was another editorial fuck up trying to tease Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man, because we haven't suffered enough. That said, DeMatteis mentioned "talks of us doing something else afterwards" in March.

marvels best comics are these mini's where older creators revisit characters they wrote decades ago.
