every time I got to the Public Doctors here in aus, it's talking to some chink of poo who can barely speak English and poor medical service.
I got salmonella from some bad eggs when I was a kid, I went to the GP before the hospital and the Dr told me to drink some flat lemonade. I've got an elbow and a pinky finger that still click and get stuck because they were never set right when i fractured them
And the wait times are real, 1 hour minimum for a GP visit, 2+ hours for a ER visit.

That said, most people don't qualify but the hospital always gets paid no matter what. The biggest problem is with the middle class. If you're poor, someone else will likely pay for you, charity groups and whatnot. If you're not rich then there will be the occasional case of you getting bankrupted at the worst of cases. This is rare though. US health system isn't perfect, but the others are not only barely working but are also slowly bankrupting their countries.
