What film is this?

>serious discussion of arthouse and classic cinema
Why did you start off the thread with fucking Brown Bunny of all things then? The guy's a hack who just wanted to cum in his favorite actress's mouth, there's nothing remotely significant or interesting about this movie.

Brainlet cope

>I was interested in a character that even during sex could not let his mind go blank and fill up with the sex. Instead, while having sex he is rapidly thinking and his thoughts have a range of emotions far away from pleasure. This strange behavior juxtaposed against graphic real sex is disturbing. The common purpose of pornography is to enhance sexual pleasure or sexual fantasy. It is meant to be free of things like guilt, insecurity, anger or responsibility. It can also be detached from the struggles of intimacy. I chose to use imagery common in pornography but placed these images in the emotional context which included intense guilt, anger, regret, anguish, and confusion. In this context, it is difficult for the images to enhance sexual pleasure or sexual fantasy. Instead, the graphic images work better to enhance the discomfort of intimacy.

indeed good sir, I too am a superior intellectual that appreciates art for its sublime beauty and transcendent immaterial conjunction
If you would go outside and stop scoffing at everyone that passes you by, careful not to trip on your coat, you might actually start developing an interest in normal things again instead of this pseudo-intellectual garbage

I'm going to see film of the decade holy motors in theaters this month in brooklyn

Arthouse - it's when the movie is boring, edgy and full of unnecessary nudity?

Yes.
Same.

There are plenty of capeshit and star wars threads out there, no one cares that you can't sit through a movie more complicated than Clown man and the revenge of society

>pleb thinks that arthouse is some sort of abstract filmaking and mostly surrealist
>needs to shitpost just to cope with his casual taste

what does /film/ think of bonby D's Nashville Skyline?

If you consider any of these boring or pretencious you should stick to capeshit and star wars for the rest of your life

If you haven't seen Metropolis you should definitely watch it. I put it off for so long due to the lack of dialogue but it was one of the most incredible films I've ever seen. It's not even over-hyped and it's relevant as fuck in today's time.

Blind Beast is 9.5/10 imo

Do you guys explore cinema as if one would explore music? For example, if I want to get into a musician's discography I listen to all of his albums chronologically, do you guys do that with directors? The only director that I came close in doing that was Bergman but he has so many films that I ended up just watching 18 films by him, but I believe they were his "main" works.
