I worked on the set of SPIRAL: From The Book of Saw

I'd like to add, I'm answering some questions for the die hard Saw fans who have been looking for spoilers, so if you hate Saw or don't want spoilers please leave this thread

is jigsaw in it? are any other characters we know in it? is it good? does it tie into the others?

I like Saw. Is this film going to carry on the decline in quality from the first one.

Will there be "more book of saw" movies

No, Jigsaw will not be in the film. Hoffman and Amanda and Gordon will also be absent. However, at least one of them will be referenced.

How does the finger trap shown in the trailer work? I can’t tell at all.

DID THE POSTER APE THIS LONG EXPOSURE SERIES FROM GERMAN PHOTOGRAPHER LUCAS ZIMMERMANN

CUS CLEARLY IT DID

Saw 1 - 3D and the Jigsaw make up one chapter in the Saw universe. Spiral is the start of a brand new chapter in the Saw universe. New killer, new motive, different games, different characters.

Both are apart of The Book of Saw.

I haven't seen the completed work but I guarantee you it's going to be great. Everything is so fresh but a lot is riding on the box office success. It will determine whether or not more films from this chapter will be made

spoil the plot

Will incels hate or love it?

There are some political undertones in the film that touches on social justice issues so /pol/ may have issue with it. But Saw 6 touched on socialism and health care so this isn't the first time Saw was political.

fuck you faker they would never make a saw film without john kramer

Does Jackson die in the first half hour?

Ask me something specific. I'm not sure what you want me to say. Do you want an outline?

damn thats a good shot

Spoil who is playing the killer if it's a big name.

There are references but sorry he did not shoot in the film

Does the new pig puppet make a ticking sound?

you're lying lying liar

Can the villain be charged for murder or can he only be charged for kidnapping at best?

It's tricky to say because the scenes are filmed out of sequence and I don't know how it's edited but yes he does not appear in the last act at all.

Is Samuel L Jackson the new jigsaw?

So the new Jigsaw is killing cops because of "muh bolice brutality" right?

Muthafucka

Have you been making the can't arrest saw threads?

If there's no Tobin Bell it's not Saw, period. I may sound like an autist saying that, but if he is not involved, there is literally no reason for this movie to be in the Saw universe. Regardless of my desire to see Hoffman again, I can acknowledge it is not really a deal breaker for him to not be there. John Kramer IS Saw, though.

It's not a big name. There's a new killer and he has a new message and method. He's focused on social justice issues. The character is seen in the film but he's a background character. It's not Chris Rock or his partner or Sam Jackson

What department were you in?

Do you think this installment will be acclaimed by critics?

That's a good reason tho, American cops are fucked up....

No, he dies in the film. He's basically there because he's important to Chris Rock's character

fucking retard how can you misinterpret "spoil the plot"

can i be in the movie pls?
i was on csi miami twice

Are there quips?

Attached: JerryOrbach.jpg (298x428, 20K)

Agreed. Even if it was just a voice over of some kind I'd take it. I wonder if there'll be test screenings. Bet they'll tear it apart.

No, not because of police brutality. It's because of how they are willing to turn their back on society and indirectly create thieves, killers, and drug addicts. Jigsaw and this new killer wouldn't exist had they done their job

But this isn't Saw you retard. It's Spiral.

Jigsaw and Hoffman WILL be referenced, although they will not be seen.

Spiral is the start of a brand new chapter in the Saw universe. Saw 1 - 3D and the Jigsaw film were another chapter. It's the same world just a different chapter in the book of saw

Both are apart of The Book of Saw.

so it's like a copycat killer?

I wasn't Above The Line. I was part of a smaller crew in the corporate video production

I cannot accept that. That's like making a movie called "CLAWS: From the Book of Elm Street" about a new dream killer that has nothing to do with Freddy or any previous protagonists, and saying its the same universe. Who gives a fuck if it's the same universe at that point? This shit isn't Marvel, it needs to be more connected.

Yes, but that's not saying much because none of the Saw films have good ratings from critics. I believe critics will like the fresh take, lack of gore, suspense elements, Chris Rock's performance, along with the social political commentary

Everyone knows the plot. Are you asking for an outline or just major character deaths and twists? If you're rude again to me then I will not answer your question, user

>no gore
>no Jigsaw
>social commentary
You're doing a great job of making this sound like pure shit. I hope you're just LARPing.

fuck you stupid fucker

I hear ya, but nobody wants a new villian in the world of Elm Street but no Freddy Kruger. It's like they just want to copy SAW but they don't wanna be accused of copying SAW when they preach their political bullshit so they just slapped a Book of SAW logo on it and called it a day. I'm ok with what Jigsaw did with a new killer. I like Hoffman and Amanda. So I'm not opposed to a different killer. But if there is no relation to John Kramer's story it just feels empty. Like I said I'd even be ok if the new killer used a Jigsaw voice changer or some shit. Tobin Bell just should be in this in some capacity IMFO

Yes, but not like MCU quips. It's subtle. Just banter to lighten the mood periodically.

Haha, clearly this user and I are creepily on the exact same wavelength

OP?

There will be no voice over.

So what's some basic plot details? How does it connect to the Saw franchise?

>long exposure
>yellow light somehow exposed as much as green and red lights
That's some Photoshop trickery right there.

No, because he lets the cops know he's not Jigsaw. They believe he's a possible apprentice and start looking into Logan but come up empty

Didn't Logan have a "perfect alibi" at the end of Jigsaw? That was the whole point of his plan, why would they be looking into him?

>I cannot accept that. That's like making a movie called "CLAWS: From the Book of Elm Street"

This made me lol user. I understand where you're coming from but this is so fresh and still true to the franchise. Think of Star Wars the Mandalorian. It's part of that world, just a different character and story.

>corporate video production

What are you saying? BTS? If so, I have a question, are those BTS crews part of 52 and 600?

The social commentary isn't some huge propaganda film, user. The new killer (he does NOT give his name in the film) is making a point that many cops avoid bad neighborhoods because it's easier to collect a paycheck and live their lives comfortably and effectively turn their back on society.

In other words, the thieves, killers, junkies, rapists, and low lifes of the world are CREATED by the cops indirectly due to looking the other way. Chris Rock and his partner are now forced to NOT look the other way, once they are involved

Local 600

>thieves, killers, junkies, rapists, and low lifes
They can't be responsible for their own actions? They shouldn't be in traps for fucking up their neighborhoods? Sounds worse the more you talk about it OP haha.

Doesn't sound bad, would you rather have a reboot?

OK. I'll break it down even though you were extremely rude.

>Sam Jackson & Chris Rock's partner die
>Chris Rock lives
>The new killer is a background character seen throughout the film
>There are 5 traps (or 4 depending on how you look at it)
>There is NO timeline twist
>Hoffman is confirmed dead in the film. They mention his body found in the bathroom
>Gordon is not on their radar or ever mentioned
>The new killer targets cops because they indirectly create criminals because they turned their back so society

>amanda was helping jigsaw the entire time
>hoffman was helping jigsaw the entire time
>gordon was helping jigsaw the entire time
>johns x-ray technician was helping him the entire time
>hope they don't use the same twist
>spiral comes out
>chris rock is a cop trying to find out who is continuing johns legacy
>the movie is 100% from his perspective
>end of film
>chris rock has his gun aimed at the killer
>"any last words, ya jive turkey motha fucka?"
>"yes, you are actually saw man"
>chris lowers his gun and smiles
>"shiiiiieet, I am saw man?"
>"yes you are saw man"
>"then who was you?"
>the bad guy takes off his mask
>its revealed to be amanda hoffman-gordon, the love child of amanda, hoffman and gordon
>"i am daughter saw" she says
>"i am chris rock" says chris rock
>tobin bell for some reason collects a check for this movie

can't wait for saw 10

Bro spoil the whole fucken plot scene by scene hurryyy upp!!!!!!! REeeeeeeeee Reeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

The voice changer is different too. Kramer is related in a way. Go back to Jigsaw and try to recall the last 15 minutes. This is the biggest twist in the film. REWATCH the last 15 minutes of Jigsaw. You'll find the motive and connection. And remember how Jeff's son from Saw 3 got virtually no justice because the killer received only 6 moths? Remember how crooked Detective Matthews was? It all connects

Of course they would make a film blaming police for lowlifes poor choices. Terrible.

Hi, I'm Darren Lynn Bousman, and I directed SPIRAL, as well as Saw 2, 3, and 4. I couldn't help but notice that someone here is spreading misinformation, so I just wanted to stop by and say that I absolutely would NOT sign on to direct a Saw movie without Jigsaw involved at least tangentially. I don't want to give too much away, but Jigsaw isn't the only legacy character who will be making an appearance.
:)

See here

Which saw film had the shittiest twist ending?

Because Sam Jackson catches on and sends a message to Chris Rock's character about it but dies shortly after. It's set up to make us believe Logan is still "speaking for the dead" but he doesn't even appear in the film

Interesting, and the sound? I'm curious because I'm in 600, but I've never met a BTS crew member before, they're usually too busy for me to talk to them. What job did you do? And of course ignore my question if it's too personal.

They are responsible for their own actions which is why they get tested but the cops get tested too for turning a blind eye.

See Det Matthews, and ending of Jigsaw to understand

What does "book of Saw" mean? What's the connection

I want to fuck her. She is ssssooooo fucking HOT

Attached: LEG_D004_00733_C.jpg (1500x2250, 554K)

imagine the kinky shit she must be into
Logan is a fag for not hitting it

There will be a sex scene with her

Stop it. If you do it again then I'm cutting the thread. If you're not a Saw fan then please get out

Maybe he's you from the future

Based department

It's a very heavy film. Go back to the Jeff story from Saw 3, Det Matthews crookedness in Saw 2, and the death of John's nephew from the Jigsaw film.

These events relate to Rock and the police department. It touches on the lack of justice and how so many of them are willing to look the other way

Attached: topkek.png (292x292, 220K)

Could he have been charged with murder?

Attached: tobin_bell_main.jpg (825x464, 214K)

Jaywalking at most

>Hoffman is confirmed dead in the film
I guess it's for the best but FUCK

Attached: ycrW4Pv.png (680x576, 770K)

Will Gordon take down Spiral in a sequel?

What were you expecting?

would have been great to see him gordon put him in a trap

Gordon isn't in the film at all.

What are the traps

Describe all 4-5 traps

Traps are gay

this is a really neat thread if you are legit, OP. makes me interested to see the movie. a couple questions:
1) will you need to see the previous movies to see this film? honestly, i've only seen saw V and jigsaw.
2) this may be a little harder for you (and if you can't do it ill give you the benefit of the doubt) is there anyway you can prove you are legit?

Why did they steal the background of Endless?

None of the traps will damage the organs. The new killer doesn't want them damaged.

Rewatch all of the films. They all connect.

Can you describe some of the traps?

WHAT ARE THE TRAPS OP????

>Sam Jackson & Chris Rock's partner die
>Chris Rock lives
>The new killer is a background character seen throughout the film
>There are 5 traps (or 4 depending on how you look at it)
>There is NO timeline twist
>Hoffman is confirmed dead in the film. They mention his body found in the bathroom
>Gordon is not on their radar or ever mentioned
>The new killer targets cops because they indirectly create criminals because they turned their back so society

>The new killer, called The Organ Donor by the detectives, collects organs from the dead bodies
>The box that Chris Rock finds in the trailer is Sam Jacksons organs. This marks the beginning of Rock's test
>The organs from the victims are collected and distributed to people who appreciate their life.
>The people you see in the church are part of a rehabilitation group. They survived Jigsaw's previous tests but this new killer creates a cult following

Why is it called Spiral? Also WHAT ARE THE TRAPS?
If you don’t know, just say you don’t know.

OP
DESCRIBE
THE
FUCKING
TRAPS

>The Train Trap
>The Cement Trap
>The Flaming Car
>The Degloving Trap
>The All Seeing Eye

>mass replying
kys

This isn’t a description, holy shit.

ALL of the traps require the cops to make a sacrifice in order to save innocent civilians due to these cops always looking away.

Why are you explaining the same thing over and over again?

I'll be more specific.

>The Train Trap involves Sam Jackson and other civilians.
>The Flaming Car (a cop and a civilian are involved)
>The All Seeing Eye is the final "trap" and it's meant for Chris Rock's character. The "trap" you see him in the trailer is just a fakeout.

I don't know all of the exact specifics every single one of them involves an innocent civilian. The Organ Donor perverts Jigsaws method and philosophy

What happens during these traps? Come on user, you’re killing me. If this is bullshit, at least write some fan fiction instead of repeatedly avoiding the question.

In the "All Seeing Eye" trap, we find Rock in his final game. Him and another civilian just like the previous traps. He's given one last chance to NOT look the other way and must take the sacrifice to gouge his eyes out or else the civilian will die. The civilians face is covered and unconscious (symbolizing the faceless helpless people who he refused to help as a cop).

Rock ends up saving his own skin and cowardly leaves the masked civilian to brutally die. The twist is we find out that this killing is being livestreamed and he gets exposed to the world

See here

It's called Spiral because of the side of Billy the Puppets cheek

Would Toby Bell be in Into The Spiral?

No

But Chris rock is innocent they can’t get him for anything? So who cares if it’s live streamed

why don't i care

Are there titties

The whole point is how these cops don't care about civilians and only care about their own skin. They only become involved when they find out The Organ Donor is targeting cops. When it's livestreamed people see how corrupt the police system is now. The world now knows and will always be watching the cops actions, so long as The Organ Donor is alive (the all seeing eye)

>lack of gore

Attached: kramer.gif (480x360, 3.57M)

are you the same one that posted the other day? I didn't save the spoilers but I remember reading about a trash compactor

>the cop didn't potentially kill himself in order to save some random person?
>ALL COPS MUST HATE US

Americans everybody

You don't understand, user. They turn their backs on these people and only become involved in the case as soon as Rock and the cops get targeted. They make comments about this new killer quietly doing the world a favor cleaning up the streets filled with underprivileged people who don't amount to anything and make their lives tougher.

There's a scene where they almost hit a boy riding a bike and they pull over to check on him and Rock's partner is more concerned about being late to dinner.

These cops were so crooked throughout the franchise so I imagine Rock (who wrote the story) decided we need to put them under a microscope. The implication is ALL the traps will now be livestreamed so the cops will be exposed.

Now the cops and justice system CANNOT look the other way, since the public will always be watching them

wtf is happening in the trap where the guy's fingers are wired into something and his hands look deformed?

They are being "disgloved" aka pulled out

So xhe's going to trap people for misgendering trannies?

Hard pass

Not him but that trap really sounds stupid, the premise of targeting cops isn't bad, but society getting upset a cop won't gouge his eyes out to save himself is stupid. I wouldn't do that for a complete stranger

>phonefag
>image for ants
>namefag
The absolute state of this board.

someone who worked on it posted on IG saying that tthey worked on the biggest goriest trap yet, what is that, or what is the biggest trap in the flick? and are there more saw movies in the future

it's a pretty common thing to see, user...
