I can't imagine going to see an anime action movie and being met with that.

As a kid i was weirded out by the animation style and voices. As an adult I see how unique this show was in comparison to other kid friendly shows. The big payoff is definitely the revenge fantasies.

You really have to wonder how shit like this ever gets green-lit in the first place. How many people would have seen, worked on, or otherwise been a part of this project before pitching it to a network and before more episodes were ordered? No one at any point in that process ever decided to speak up and point out how creepy and off-putting it was, especially for a children's show?

It was like if someone took all those photos your parents made you look at of them when they were kids and made them into a cartoon whose sole intention was being as annoying and obnoxious as possible.

The animation was weird and off-putting, but mostly the show had the unique distinction of being obnoxious AND boring. None of the jokes were funny, none of the characters were fun to watch. It's like it was made by some asshole producer's cousin who didn't have any talent, but the producer owed him a favor after he bailed him out of jail for getting caught with blow in the studio parking lot.
