Do you retards even read the manga? Goku isn't a hero, he likes fighting strong people and had allowed antagonists to kill millions if it lets them power up so Goku can fight a strong opponent. That's why the Dragon balls exist as a concept because otherwise shit would be dead a thousand times over. The only genuine "hero" in Dragonball is Gohan and he's weak now thanks to Chi Chi being an insufferable mother

With some of the other arrogant DBZ villains the "let's fight elsewhere" thing works because they want to test their power against Goku and don't want him distracted. Zod was bloodlusted and explicitly stated his intent to target civilians just to spite Clark, Clark did the right thing and kept Zod's focus on him and only him. If he broke off in the middle of the fight to rescue people Zod would have just blitz attacked them with his superspeed.

In Part 1 at 3:14 he collides with Zod near the side of 1 building leaving a crater.

In Part 1 at 3:23 he burst through a already damaged concrete floor causing very little damage.

In Part 2 at 0:21 he pushes Zod through some construction beams.

In Part 2 at 0:50 Zod punches him into a building and he drags Zod's face across the windows of the building opposite in response.

In Part 2 at 1:50 Superman gains "control" of their decent at the last minute and pushes Zod into the train station.

THAT IS IT! That is all the destruction Superman causes during their hand to hand fight. Not once did he actually punch or throw Zod into a building in Metropolis.

The first ass bite was him having to commit suicide to stop Cell from blowing up earth, the second was Buu killing everyone and ACTUALLY blowing up earth. If Goku could handle Kid Buu he could handle Majinn, the only Buu he flat out was unwilling to step to was a Super Buu. Time frame wouldve been irrelevant if he opened up on full throttle from the word go. Not wanting people slaughtered doesn’t mean you drop the weight of the world on the shoulders of children seconds before you disappear. Cope more you niglet.

That was added as an afterthought because it made Goku look like a horrible person. He may not be a good guy er day but you can’t have a protagonist that actively ignores universes being destroyed.
