EFL LEAGUE ONE FINAL DAY MATCH THREAD

Owing to the Platinum Jubilee moving Bank Holiday Monday to a Thursday this year, EFL League One finishes a week earlier than usual. All 24 teams will be in action on a day that sees half of them involved in promotion, play-off or relegation battles.

The main TV game comes from Kent with 21st hosting 2nd as Gillingham face Rotherham; the Millers were certain of promotion just a few months ago but have imploded in dramatic fashion and need a win to yo-yo back to the Championship, while the Gills need 3 points of their own to avoid the drop. The other TV game is in Devon as Plymouth in 6th face Milton Keynes; much like the other TV game, the Pilgrims need 3 points to guarantee a play-off spot while Franchise could go up automatically if they win and Rotherham slip up.

Elsewhere, Wigan's choke midweek means they'll need a win at Shrewsbury to guarantee promotion, Sheffield Wednesday have to beat Portsmouth to secure a top six spot, Morecambe and Sunderland both require wins to avoid relegation/slipping out of the play-offs, Wycombe must to beat Burton and hope other results go their way to sneak into the play-offs and Wimbledon and Doncaster need miracles against Accrington and Oxford respectively to stay up.

All games kick off at 12:30pm UK time. Games of importance have been greentexted.

>AFC Wimbledon v Accrington Stanley
>Bolton Wanderers v Fleetwood Town
>Burton Albion v Wycombe Wanderers
Cambridge United v Cheltenham Town
>Gillingham v Rotherham United (live on Sky Sports Main Event)
Ipswich Town v Charlton Athletic
Lincoln City v Crewe Alexandra
>Morecambe v Sunderland
>Oxford United v Doncaster Rovers
>Plymouth Argyle v Milton Keynes Dons (live on Sky Sports Football)
>Sheffield Wednesday v Portsmouth
>Shrewsbury Town v Wigan Athletic

Also, if you're not interested in League One, Sky have put the pointless early Championship fixture of Barnsley v Preston North End on the Red Button.

9th

bad owners

Not enough black players they are losing

I had a soft spot for Charlton back in the Curbishley era. I remember when you and Birmingham were in the running for Champions League places going into the final few games of the 2003-04 season, I just checked and in the end you were only seven points off fourth in the end

>in the end
>in the end
did I say in the end enough?

Based OP.

Exciting this isn't it. As long as Milton K*ynes don't win the league lel

>PL putting on Liverpool - Newcastle and even the EFL themselves putting on Barnsley - Preston at the same time

Booo

I'd take 9th

>the EFL themselves
You mean Sky. Did they not get the message from the EFL either that one of the leagues ends early?

In an ideal world, Plymouth and Wycombe would win, Gillingham would beat Rotherham, Morecambe would take at least a point off Sunderland and Fleetwood would get hammered at Bolton. That way MK Dons don't get the automatic spot, Sunderland drop out of the play-offs and Fleetwood begin their slide back out of the Football League.

Unfortunately I can't see that happening :(

'dictions
>Champs: Wigan
>Promoted: Rotherham
>3rd-6th: Dons, Sunderland, Wendies, Wikkum
>Relegated: Gillingham, the other Dons, the other other Dons

Wycombe can fuck off altogether after all their crying over going down last season.

I don't think so mate. Think I'll hold out for Premier League action. Lower league football needs to be scrapped, the assets of every club liquidated and the cash shared amongst the big clubs.

You have a serious mental disability.

Blunderland will lose in the playoff final again

>that Yank bandwagoner on here genuinely thought they were going up automatically

That lasted all of 6 minutes. Barnsley are arse.

absolutely mad season innit

>womens football in the goal feed on soccer sneederday

MK Dons look just that little bit sharper than Plymouth. I'd be amazed if they lost this one

First time in the CH/L1/L2 rebrand era that 80 points won't get you into the L1 play-offs. Ridiculous.

you will watch and enjoy women's football, user

Liam Manning will be getting poached by a bigger club.
