Yes I like Rome

Being a fan of the series Rome isn't a choice, it's a lifestyle. As a fan of the series Rome I often find myself voting conservatively in the elections, and reciting famous phrases from my favorite characters such as mark anthony "look at the fucking state of you" hehehe. Although you might not agree with my opinions, that's alright, as long as you don't talk about my favorite character, LUCIUS VORENUS, because if you do as posca said in season two episode four "I do hope so; if this is the afterlife, it is extremely disappointing!" hehehe, just kidding I would never hurt you father. Some of the other things I enjoy in the show include nudity, I often sexualy satisfy myself simply watching this show, why would I need a girlfriend, what for. Anyways on the topic of socializing, as a fan of the show many people would call me both based and redpilled, which hehehe, I don't deny. I mean the news speaker, which I like to call based news bobby, even said "All mockery of Jews and their "one god" shall be kept to an appropriate minimum." I MEAN CAN YOU BELIEVE THEY WOULD SAY THIS ON TV? LOL
Anyway, after the shows cancellation, I found myself extremely sad that they would replace it for game of thrones (which is for fags and if you watch it you are not cool I will fuck you up nigger) I don't know why they would cancel such a magnificent show such as Rome, I mean can you imagine? I bet after season 8 they wished they'd kept rome amiright boys, hehehe you get it, clap*
Anyways, do you share my opinion?

if you don't you deserve flogging, hehe

I am monitoring this thread with considerable interest, lots of ways it could go

....

hello would you like to discuss the series Rome?

BACK TO GAUL GINGER KNOB

Based

Why did the show have a long and unnecessary arc about the plight of the yamulke’d in Rome?

Rome was good, but would have unironically been much better if it just focused on the historical characters.

Didnt like this stupid shit with Titus being Cleopatra's babydaddy or Lucius being able to lighsaber duel ten legionnairres like it was fucking crouching tiger or something.

Also, no actual battle of fucking Actium.

NO MY WIFE IS ROMAN

I think it was supposed to lead to Jesus eventually

>this is not a copypasta

wtf, opie?

I AM A BIG FAN

If they hadn't cancelled it then it would have become GoT tier trash

>ywn witness a Roman triumph

extremely based

it is now

Okay but listen here
the whole arc where Voerena hates her father's guts because he killed their mother makes no sense to me. Sure she can hate him for having cursed them to Hades and indirectly caused their enslavement, but his killing of Niobe was completely justified and in line with what that era's moral custom dictated.
I'm not saying that it's unnatural for a daughter to feel disgruntled about the fact that her father killed her mother, what I'm saying is that the only adult female "mother figure" left in the children's life didn't at least make a comment to point out that Voerenus only did what was honorable and expected in a Roman society that kept its values. Instead, everyone acts as if Luscious was in the wrong or something. The fuck? He's a patriarch of a family and the husband of an adultress. In some shitholes in the year 2k19, honor killing is STILL justified. Why does the show try to pass the killing as some sort of mistake? It was the honorable thing to do regardless of the circumstances.

I suppose so, but the Vorena hates her fathers guts arc wasn't that important anyway

did you forgot about the slavery part? Right after he cursed them all?

I didn't like how they skipped all the battles in favor of soap opera BS. Instead of Caesar marching off to Spain to smash Pompey's armies there before turning around and heading for Greece, we just get Caesar having some weird old people sex with Servilia until someone draws some mean graffiti and that makes him remember he's fighting a war. Instead of Thapsus we have Servilia having lesbian sex with Octavia after tricking her into having sex with Octavian.

how can one man have facial features akin to a greco-roman statue? has there ever been a better cast actor for a role

Why do you think

Timon was based though, he had a comfy life in Rome and his brother was fucking it up by being a Jew, so he killed him.

It was based

Well, it was a bit more complex that that of course

Speaking of Jews, why was monotheism mocked in that period?

Why would anyone take your one God seriously when they have dozens of gods???

Why do gay hollywood pedos all look like this? Brian singer jr lol haha

What if in the last episode Vorenus turned into a snake

>Everyone keep talking on how Vorenus and Pullo are the best bromance in TV
>While forgetting based Mark Antony and Vorenus

That final scene where he obey Antony final wishes to die as a proper Roman

I DON'T WANT TO DIE IN THIS SHITHOLE

>you have a disease
>oh, are you a doctor now?
>no, I recognize the symptoms, I have the same disease

Vorenus and Antony didn't have a bromance. Their relationship was "commander" and "soldier" which was the whole point of their story. Vorenus doesn't respect Antony as a person or his personal decisions, he disagrees with his attitude and thinks he is debauched. But at the same time, Mark Antony is his superior and Vorenus is a true roman soldier, so despite his personal misgivings about Antony, he does not disobey any order or command from him and respects him and his authority regardless of what happens.

You only have to look at the fate of israel. Their one God had brought them nothing but misery, compare to the success of Rome. It was laid waste, it's people expelled and the land renamed to one of their enemies (the philistines). Why be so fanatical in your faith to a God who can't protect his own? It was absurd to the polytheistic people.

this

I don't think Zoroastrians were.

I think Vorenus was more complex than that and that they had a friendship.

If you want more Rome you can just watch the Thermae Romae anime where Lucius time-travels to Japan and discovers moe culture

She killed herself retard

HE WAS A CONSOLE OF ROME

ahem

I absolutely share it.
Based and saved.

I won't even blemish my Cato pasta by posting it in a thread like this.

seething c*rthaginian

have sex

Season 2 was supposed to be about the second triumvirate.
Season 3 was supposed to be about the falling out and the second civil war.
Season 4 was supposed to be Jesus story.
Writer found out mid writing season 3 that HBO was cancelling the show and had to cram as much as possible into one season.
That's why there's a huge time skip, battles aren't shown again, Mark Anthony's expedition into Parthia is completly ignored and so on.

b-but what if that user doesn't like me?

Fuck those Moloch loving cunts

he will, trust me.

>based
he was a bouncer and contract killer who did unspeakable things so some noble slut would throw a few measly shekels at him (look at the house he lived in). he was evil to the core at all points of the show, never had one redeeming moment. inb4 refusing to continue to torture someone any more after you've been at it for hours qualified as a redeeming moment.

I guess maybe that time he murdered his even more sociopathic jew brother was kinda based but too little, too late.

>(look at the house he lived in).
It was a mansion considering that he was a pleb jew living in Rome. Plus he got to fuck blue blooded MILF cunny on the reg.

here to bump a Rome thread. Damn these plebs

The one time Timon was based was when Vorenus stormed the games to save Pullo because muh 13th and he celebrated their extremely illegal act

on the reg? like twice ever and the show covers more than a decade of real time.
