"I forgot to put the title on the last thread" Edition
EVERYBODY: Do Requests, read whatever is up here, or find things in the links to practice Post scripts, comic dialogue, panels, pages or text you would like to hear read. Post requests for things you want to read Give good, constructive feedback to those who ask for it. Ask for advice from VA's if they appear Give advice if you have it Have fun!
Most Importantly, BUMP THIS THREAD TO KEEP IT GOING!
That's gonna require a bit of screaming. It's 10 P.M. here and I don't want to get the neighbors pissed off. If it's cool with you I can get it recorded tomorrow.
Matthew Nelson
Alright. Hopefully the thread is still up.
Robert Kelly
I'll keep it saved just in case the thread goes. It'll get recorded one way or another
Nathan Harris
Here's a request. Either make the cat sound cute or have a deep voice.
If you're still around, I have a line request: "When’s the last time you got your arm fixed up? You’re basically letting it rot! I’m going to take a look at it, now sit down."
Anyone willing to provide some death screams or generic lines for enemies to say when spawning in for a mech game? Game would be sold on steam.
Thomas Hernandez
not a member of or affiliated with the dev team, just trying to help them bulk out their library since I've already supplied several minutes worth of fodder dialog myself as they accept fan submissions.
Ryan Hill
I'm down, how do I contact you?
Dylan Cruz
I'm assuming he just wants random samples. Maybe try PicoSong
Colton Bell
Not the dev, just a fan of the game looking to help them: There's no money involved due to how small the dev team and budget is; vo's are just a for fun thing plus your name in the credits. If your still interested you can contact me at robofights [AT] gmail.com
Robert Scott
Noice, I just can't record any screaming right now. Other than the death screams, they want lines for spawning in, like "time to take you down!" shit like that?
Carson Peterson
yep! Lines on spawn in are also very welcome as are lines on death. They're looking to keep these a bit serious since it's for a story mode though.
Serious question for the fem-voices though I warrant this may sound far-fetched can anyone do a good Ty Lee impersonation?
I'm making a smut game and was thinking about paying for some voice-acting. Not strongly enough to go visit some voice-acting sites just yet, but I figure if the thread's here then there's no harm in asking.
any chance I could interest you in this, you have a fantastic voice:
Evan Moore
> thinking about paying for some voice-acting.
Doesn't sound like hes going to pay. No signs
Luke Kelly
>No money involved >Selling it on steam
Huh
Parker Bailey
picosong.com/wEMyN/ I didn't expect for the thread to last as long as it did, so here's my small edit
Asher Collins
? What signs would be needed?
Well, if I hired you for the job then yeah. I'm not quite sure what y'all charge in the states, but I know that doing a day's VA work over here in bongland you'd be looking for a £150 sesh for a day's work, which would be enough for the amount of lines that I'd need with some retakes.
But to be honest I'm not sure how it works when it comes to doing lines remotely over the 'net. I know from my own experience it's annoying to have to constantly resend work after the commissioner wants to make changes, and the volume of workwould change outside of a studio environment, so some other arrangement would have to be made- maybe on a per-completed-line basis or something.
Julian Wood
Fans wanted voices included, but the game had no budget for it so they said they'd add in lines from the community or that they could soce elsewhere for grunt spawn ins and deaths so people recorded lines and death rattles and they put them into the game. It's a pretty surreal experience killing yourself.
Personally I've given them around 15 minutes or so worth of my own voice work. Nothing too intense just yells or short little phrases. Just found it fun.
Jordan Walker
I hate my voice played back and never took voice lessons, but fuck it, I'll try to make someones day.
Give me something generic to say that when voiced can give a good impression, if at all, at something more specific to do, like a character.
Jeremiah Adams
This sounds promising, I actually plan on getting a better mic set up in a few months . However I do have concerns, my schedule is extremely busy because of college shit and preparations so how flexible can it be?
if you're shilling for someone who is adding the voices to the game and then selling it no one in their right mind should give up their voice like that for free
Jackson Kelly
That was great, thank you! The line is from a character in a project I'm working in. We're not recording just quite yet but I can fill you in on more of the details, just email me at edgerkastner (AT) gmail.com and see if it's something you'd want to work on.
Aye, that's good man!
Andrew Carter
Well currently I'm just working on the MVP, which'll be out later this month. I guess I'll need to actually see how much interest there is in the game first before I decide whether it's full-voice or the kind of 'hep, hup, haa' stuff you get in Zelda games, so there would be time for you to upgrade your mic setup.
All assuming you have a good Ty Lee, ofc. Though to be fair there are other OC characters in the game that don't require an impersonation. But I'd be willing to shell out more for a Ty Lee.
As for a link to the game's development; www dot patreon dot com forwardslash thedaili
It's a mind-controlly kind of thing so if you're not comfortable with that, that's fine.
Thomas Fisher
I get where you're coming from here. Just threw it out as a fun little thing that takes a minute or two for anyone interested and who might want a credit or something.
Well, if it makes you feel any better it legit scares me to put any email or web address up on Yea Forums but I did it for the promise of your thread. So there you go.
Justin Perry
how did i do senpai?
Austin Brown
Eh. Wasn't as bad a I was expecting. In all honesty, it was alright
