That can really be said about most 80s cartoons. They'd outsource the openings to big name anime studios like Toei, TMS and Topcraft (which would later evolve into ghibli), and basically just let them do their thing, so they all looked fucking amazing

Then, after the intro got you all hyped, the actual episode would look like a 70s cartoon save for maybe a brief action scene here or there, and there'd be this vague sense of disappointment
