>let's copy BoJack except have it be about women instead
>let's replace the edge with ha ha vaginas
dude guy no

>Bojack Horseman but with characters that arent emo shit
Worth it

and that's a good thing!

Tuca has existed before Bojack

Are all the characters birds? That’s the only type of animal they manage to not draw like shit for some reason.

Nope, there are some insects (flies?) in the trailer

>Bojack is about a manchild in the modern world who has to deal with problems out of his control
>He is a bad guy

>Tuca and Bertie is about two womanchildren in the modern world who have to deal with problems out of their control
>Society is a bad guy

Just watched it, and the universe makes absolutely no sense. It’s bird majority but I saw a monkey and some flies. And why was the jaguar a normal animal, but the others can talk? Even Bojack wasn’t this dumb.

>Sex and the City with birds

No, it was the same in the first bojack trailer.
The trailer for that sucked too. Because, Netflix.

[citation needed]

Different writers.

tuca tuca tuca tucanazo

There's also a woman with a plant for a head, so there's that.

Bird tits, WOOO
youtu.be/YExrjQSKOUc?t=181

Just looks like another shitty Netflix cartoon that will be forgotten about in a week.

This.

>Two best friend characters who are opposite, yet the same do whatever because who cares about actual narrative.
YAWN
No. It's been proven time and time again that Americans simply cannot make cartoons for adults. It's all the same vulgar cringe shit with humor that appeals to 14 year olds. And the animation and character art is complete garbage, so the visuals don't save it either. Hopefully it gets forgotten like every other shitty adult cartoon just like it.

Apparently it is not the same universe as BoJack Horseman (Lisa Hanawalt is a creator/character designer for both).

The trailers are actually pretty similar. Bojack's first trailer was trash.

They can. It's just that, if they did, most people would spit it back out. Vulgarity is what sells, not maturity.

When do the reviews come out? Tomorrow? I'm interested to see if this gets the same kind of responses as Bojack has been.

Bojack has a human majority, and a human-based society.

>Made by the woman who worked on the bojack character design
>The worst part of BH is the characters and backgrounds
>Lolz opposed personalities it's not like we have seen that like a thousand times before
>Anthopomorfic characters because why not
Man, It gonna be shit.

This will be the only reason I even look at this show.

Bird tits and plant tits. Now I've seen it all.

No, but the amount of bird-girl porn it generates will be worth it.

>who has to deal with problems out of his control

Pretty sure most of his problems are within his control, he made them.

White women culturally appropriates African and Asian American culture.

So no hollywoo and designated food chicken women?

Tuca makes me feel funny.

The media is constantly steering adults down the path of infantilism. Why?

Of course the guy posting Worst Loud says this

>lets copy
It's from the exact same team that made BoJack you dumb fuck. The only difference is that it's a show from BoJack's character designer.

dependence is good for business

>In one episode, Bertie furtively masturbates in the work bathroom.
Pack it up boys, adult animation is saved.

70% shit, 20% passable, 10% good would be my brackets. We have the LOUD BLACK, the timid white (in comparison at least), and they're 30 so expiration date is coming, also vaginas. Stop me if you've heard that plot before.

for example the inspiration piece

I remember seeing an image of it on Yea Forums when it was first announced I believe. I thought it was going to be a sort of cozy sort of show but I guess I was wrong.

I remember seeing an image of it on Yea Forums when it was first announced. I thought it was going to be a cozy sort of show but I guess I was wrong.

someone didn't play Conker

Girls, Broad City and Two Broke Girls all spring to mind.

The show hasn't started yet but user here already has a synopsis handy!

Birdie makes me feel funny.

don't pretend like you know anything about it, incel

Fuck Ali Wong. She makes it seem like she is some sort of Symbol of Asian female status quo for entertainment. Their were plenty PLENTY of female Asians in the entertainment business way way before her who made a mark. And let's not forget she basically was the one who ruined "Fresh off the boat", She is Chinese and somewhat Vietnamese. Eddie Huang is from Twain. Not even close to any cultural similarities. So her boasting about being a head writer on the show for an "Asian" family is like saying Well brown is brown so hire everyone who is brown for a "Mexican family show". Also yeah it was her who wrote an episode Eddie himself said was horrible and not even close to anything his Culture believes in but the producers just said "Asian is Asian" and she "Head writer" didn't even bat an eye. I guess a paycheck with alot of ZEROOOOOOOOOO's on is what counts for moral standing.

Ironic post.

>like saying Well brown is brown
>Asian is Asian
i think this is just a general problem across all american media. i kind of feel like its a deliberate move to homogenize groups and identities so that we're easier to sell things too

Because it's funny and entertaining.

...I want to fuck her to hear if she can moan

maybe if you samefag a million more threads

bojack has to deal with his problems trying to adapt to modern life/real life because he never learned to live propperly
tuca and i couldnt be bothered to learn her name have to deal with the problems of awful writing and design and the curse of being a subpar spinoff series thats getting cancelled ater a season

Bertie.

Looks like he's trying to hold the door open while making room for the camera crew at first, but the door stays open after he lets go so I don't know what the fuck's his issue

For what purpose?

The voice of the Tucan sounds like fucking Kiki from GTA V RP what the hell

This is gonna be so fucking hot, give me all the tits and pussy jokes, it doesn't even have to be semi well written, I don't care. This is exactly what i get off to and it's professionally funded. I hope they're as explicit as possible for "comedy"

To be fair its only blacks that you can really tell by voice. Asians can sound exactly like whites.

in the trailer there's a lion and jaguar, but they're normal animals and not people animals

Or the newest Blaster Master game.

I don't want to watch this in the event it ruins my fetish for sport shorts like Tuca is wearing

People smell horrible, specially in the genitals, but dicks are easier to clean than vaginas. Trust me here I sucked cocks and pussy, and vaginas are much worse overall

its not a spinoff...the showrunner for T&B was the production designer on bojack, their worlds aren't connected it's just her art style

what if he didn't know the door would stay open?

Actually, it seems to be evenly split. Most shots with lots of random nameless people seem pretty varied.

Why not?

Name a female comedy that's good. I'm not even memeing here.

Here’s the intro, for anyone who’s interested

Did I see fucking skyscraper tits? What the fuck?

If it was animated like this i'd be better but the writing and jokes sound bad.

Why does America hate good animation so much? Why do all adult cartoons have to be so stiff and lame-looking, unlike what the intro implies?

What’s even worse is that Lisa Hanawalt is an actual cartoonist, yet her style still ends up so flat aside from the fun color choices. Aaron Long should’ve been given a bigger role on developing the show’s art & animation style.

Attached: 5DB0C4B5-7E79-4846-840F-06F873A0D236.jpg (919x720, 59K)

perhaps

Is that a problem, you fucking PRUDE?

Netflix doesn't have a budget for good animation. In fact hardly any place has that budget nowadays.

For porn? Yes. The show will suck

also girls being gross isn't anything new and has been done to death already, literally the first thing every female comedian is doing
just look at Broad City and that Amy Schumer show

That's just classic Netflix bullshit, where you can't take screenshots on mobile. I think Hulu does the same. I never understood why since both platforms would only benefit from viewers sharing screenshots of their content. If anything, they could try adding their own watermarks in the bottom corner so people know what streaming service a show is from.

Just take screenshots from your laptop/computer, and you should be fine.

This stuff never works for me. I honestly don't know what kind of people even enjoy this. I personally hate these stereotypical gender tropes with a passion to begin with so I can't ever relate to anyone in these shows.

This one isnt produced at Netflix's in-house studio, its shadowmachine no?

Bojack is trash. It's emotionally manipulative tripe that gives you a false sense of security during the first half of every season with some of the LAMEST freaking jokes ever written then it throws you a curveball of BORING drama that you all fall for and get le feels oh my gosh so sad. YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF FLIPPIN WOMEN!

Ah right I forgot you can take screenshots in your browser. Thanks!
This is what I was gonna screencap anyway so it all works out

I really liked this old tree dude's design

>I don't know the kind of people who enjoy this
You need to meet more people, it seems

Yeah I guess that there are many who probably like that I just don't know who exactly and why. I always feel like these series portray both, men and women as pretty damn unlikeable and stereotypical.

Speckle is gonna turn out to be an awful boyfriend isn't he?

furries will love it, they're basically behaving like humanized birds since actual real life birds are total spastics

I like that their little cartoony dance changes in each episode

I haven't finished the season yet but it feels like they're setting up some sort of "oh no I almost cheated with you with the hot pastry chef I work under" plot.

>tfw Lisa Hanawalt herself has to make a list of adult cartoons created by women to prove how rare they are
What do you think about female-led adult cartoons, Yea Forums? We also have Bless the Harts and Duncanville to look forward to.

Attached: adult animated shows created by women.png (750x443, 116K)

I couldn't care less what gender shit out which cartoon, I just want them to be good

I honestly only care about personality for MCs so I am fine with female ones as well as male ones. What I don't like is if female leads are overly girlish and annoying, but I also dislike childish male MC so it evens out, I just want non-typical leads if possible.

That’s not how mental issues work.

>Bless the Harts
Why is this the first I'm hearing of it?

>In September, Fox made its first animated series order in a couple of years, giving a 13-episode straight-to-series pickup to Bless the Harts, a half-hour comedy from The Last Man on Earth co-executive producer Emily Spivey and executive producers Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Seth Cohen. The network describes the series as a look at a group of broke southerners always struggling for the American Dream of status and wealth, but already are rich in friends, family and laughter.
Who wants to bet it'll have a fucking hideous art style since the show stars rednecks and hillbillies?

Bait

>Why do all adult cartoons have to be so stiff and lame-looking, unlike what the intro implies?

it's cheap and easy to animate and because no one but cartoons nerds on the internet cares, they have no reason to improve since people will put up with it.

It's still amazing to me that the people who proclaim themselves to be good and caring were also the ones so quick to use incels as a boogeyman and scapegoat. Incels are pretty much outcast that grew up missing a lot of social experiences and are generally clueless to social cues and shit, only to end up lonely and angry virgins mad at the world. They're miserable and are people that actually could use help, the kind of people that can only get out of their hole if they have someone on the outside giving them a hand. But instead everyone went full retard and decided it was better to ostracise the outcasts even more and in turn making it more likely to radicalise them.

I can probably safely assume that the show will consist of selfish assholes that are portrayed to be "good", but only in ways that are convenient and without nuance.

Shut the fuck up, incel.

oh then what's the fucking point

Yeah people keep talking about the importance of mental health and being easy on the mentally ill, but no one cares about incels because they're all white men I guess.

I'm just interested in the bird tits.

Well lucky for you, there's plenty of 'em!

Attached: meep.png (1920x1080, 1.27M)

I think it's less about race and more about where you grew up and/or the people you hang around user

Finally a show for my bird lust.

That's not a very clever joke. They barely resemble one another, so the only basis for making it as that they're both toucans.

Kingdom Hearts 3.14517
We go back in time to when Sora is a child, and Zazu's mum is there for some reason.

it's no fun when they're drawn so cartoonishly

hopefully there's a properly stacked bird or some shapely bird ass at some point in the show even if it's just a brief gag and they make a 30 minute speech about body image afterwards

Kinda reminds me of Pond Life.

Are you trying to get me to not watch this show?

women can't imagine what it's like to have a problem with getting sex
also how dare white men are the victim once

I see no one mentioned Amy Winfrey is the main director on this show, cool to see her bounce back after Nick did her dirty a decade ago

Attached: 0F505778-09E4-4336-BBBE-9AB916129983.jpg (2560x1920, 436K)

And I also didn’t know she directed 17 episodes of BoJack until now either, guess I never paid enough attention to that credit or never put the name to the work. I had thought she went way quiet but I guess she was making stuff I was watching all along, neat

That’s just the problem with Lisa Hanawalt’s art style. Even though the character designs have relatively realistic proportions, it’s almost impossible to find any character fappable. The only rare exceptions I can remember from BoJack were Princess Carolyn, Wanda Pierce, and pic related.

Attached: Shrug.jpg (250x332, 25K)

I used to love this show so this is great to hear. I didn't know she did stuff on Bojack either.

>it’s almost impossible to find any character fappable

You don't fap to the actual show. You look up art online and fap to that. It's not like there's a shortage of horny artist fans.

Ooo mama mia

It’s charming in a mid-00s web cartoon kind of way, like a spooky-centric Homestar Runner. Yea Forums used to really like her back in the day

Do people really watch bojack for any reason but will Arnett? The rest of the cast is insufferable and its only because Bojack is miserable that hes worth watching

I watch it for Mr.Peanutbutter

I unironically don't even know who Arnett is. I never care about producers, only the result and if I enjoy it so no idea if I enjoyed that Arnett content more than the rest.

Sauce?

when i first saw this image i thought it was a show for kids

is it weird i think shes cute and want to protect that sad smile?

how dare an animated show for adults has fun animation!

That's an interesting way of saying "I have no talent and I need to resort to scummy tactics so people even know my show exists".

Id like to know what is your take on "high brow"and "good taste"

>It's from the exact same team that made BoJack you dumb fuck
>The only difference is that it's a show from BoJack's character designer.
Oh, so the least talented members of the team got together to rip themselves off?

Superior taste right here

At least she's honest about wanting and needing negative publicity.. Kind of sad though, when even Yea Forums doesn't think your show is worth hating and you have to get up and manually get them to do it, and even then barely anyone cares.

the title is right there
just type in jap lol

I heard there's full on nudity and sex, so I'm hoping for the best, that was the one thing that disappointed me with Bojack, no nudity

The intro has a building with bouncing tits.

You can practically hear the bad Gordon Ramsey impression.

You know what's sad? The fact that she's right. I've already seen the knee jerk reaction against this show.

Lisa actually mentioned browsing Yea Forums to see opinions. She was actually touched that people wanted to see it. She said it had a more positive reaction here than reddit. So mind yourselves, she might be in this very thread.

I'll give it a shot just because I think birds are neat.

You can tell this has the potential to be good, but it's consistently bogged down by boring woke feminism and both main characters constantly landing on their feet.

Bojack takes a sad horse person and tries to tell you something about life. This takes two millennial bird women who constantly flipflop and are not funny because they're women

Wait. Why does there appear to be a chicken leg in Speckle's stomach?

Attached: Speckle's stomach.png (1920x1080, 2.29M)

Just saw the first episode. Despite the frenetic pacing, tone, subject matter, pacing, and pretty much every single aspect of the show (except the art) being things I would normally hate, it works somehow.

Only problem I had with it was that it seemed a little drawn out, like maybe the 12 minute format might have been a better fit.

People who use the word woke, especially ironically, deserve to be smitten from the internet

there are a few

>woke feminism
The second episode is about one of the characters blaming their workplace failures on sexism, only to have to deal with the fact that her shortcomings are her own. It also portrays sexual harassment as a problem which gets dealt with if you actually make it clear what happened, that there isn't some patriarchal conspiracy to protect such behavior.

How is that woke?

Yea Forums thinks that women being anything but fuckable versions of their moms is 'woke'

What's wrong with that?

Yes she does. She can’t help but read the feedback. She said on a podcast that she hopes incels watch the show and maybe can see another perspective on this shit

Those last couple episodes really slide into tactless melodrama, huh?

For Will Flaked is fine enough and don't need any Yea Forums part in this experience

Most of the cast is great. No one here likes Todd (despite Aaron Paul being great, because celebrity behind VA doesn't actually matter), and people are split on Dianne, but I don't think I've ever heard a negative word about any other character.

eh, does anyone care about Bearded Hipster Without a Sense of Humour? Not enough to be negative about him at least

Also, is the show online on streaming sites yet?

Oh yeah, there's loads of Todd bashing in Bojack threads. For a while now, when people talk about the problems they had with -latest season-, Todd's side story about -shit that doesn't matter- is almost alway mentioned. It just sticks out like such a sore thumb, especially with Mr. PB basically fulfilling any role Todd once had in the show.

And I don't think it's on any sites yet, but I'm sure there's a torrent.

I'm not going to lie, I love that (fake) mommy pussy

Most people who would call themselves incels aren't hateful of anyone but themselves, they're just miserable people with poor to no social skills who don't know how to approach people or find a relationship. But the way it's used as an insult implies that anyone who isn't socially confident enough to get a relationship or casual sex must be a misogynist.

Guess what effect that has on people who are already depressed because of their crippling social issues and inability to do things that come naturally to others? It's a fucking self fulfilling prophecy - Equating incels with misogynists is likely to turn them INTO misogynists because now not only do they not believe they're able to get a relationship, they believe women look down on them and hate them. Have a nice day, user.

>Hateful people get outcasted, user, that's how the world works.
Explain Israel then

I'll give it a chance, Bojack Horseman is great (for the most part).

On one hand, I am kind of sick of how much media idolises women as flawless demihumans without any relatable or interesting character traits, but on the other hand I'm glad to see a show that just feels so light-hearted, positive and upbeat as this being made when everything else is so cynical and nihilistic in some vain attempt to be "intelligent". I'm also a fan of Lisa Hanawalt who seems to be a bigger driving force for the show than she was for Bojack, which should at least be fun to see.

I actually always like Todd's side story. I don't understand the hate. I like wacky humor, personally, bu I am surprised it' not a more common taste.

I am starting to wonder if being raped while they are young teens is something that actually happens to the majority of women and they just don't talk about it.

I think Todd has had his ups and downs, I liked him to begin with when he was just some guy who lived with Bojack, but then it got to a point where he's just going around fucking things up for other people by being "wacky" and nobody seems to call him out or care and was always the victim we are meant to sympathise with, but in the latest season I think he was used well, he was mostly just off doing Todd stuff that didn't affect other people and it was at least fun. I'm also glad they minimised the asexual part of his character to not be his whole identity as I feared they might, that's a considerable bullet dodged.

I watched 2 episodes and don't feel like watching the rest if that's about it

Does it get any better?

>where he's just going around fucking things up for other people by being "wacky" and nobody seems to call him out
That's because he usually don't fuck things for other. His interference with the rest of the cast often result in a small net gain.

>Does it get any better?
Honestly, yes, I'd say the first 2 episodes are the weakest.

>I'm also glad they minimised the asexual part of his character to not be his whole identity
As it was a self discovery in the previous season, it make sense it had a bigger focus.

I am so used, in those kind of shows, to the boyfriend turning out to be an asshole or/and cheating and/or getting in the way of the protagonist's development that I was bracing for a break up the more the episodes progressed.

I am glad they didn't take this path. Also, I like how Speckle is showcased as the "perfect" boyfriend, but they still end up showcasing him as a human character.

>That's because he usually don't fuck things for other
There are times he has, he signed some documents for Mr Peanutbutter without bothering to read them that lead to his house falling underground and Zach Braff being killed. Nobody seems to call him out for his carelessness leading to someone dying.

>Tuca is so fucking annoying that I almost didn't make it through the first episode
>jokes start really landing as the episodes go on
>it's fucking annoying the way Tuca is always jumping and flipping around and the cartoony sound effects take me out of it, but enough of the show is going right that I really start getting into it
>suddenly go from zany adventures to "I was molested and men are shit"
>the rest of the show just kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth

Bojack does shit like that but it's fine because it does it in a way that's both entertaining and emotional. Tuca & Bertie just sort of flipped the table on you suddenly and expected you to give a shit.

That being said, I would watch an entire season of Dendra and the plant teens doing stupid shit.

>There are times he has, he signed some documents for Mr Peanutbutter without bothering to read
Where you paying attention. it was 100% a set-up. Mr. Peanut Butter' ex-wife first tasked Todd, that she spotted to not be the sharpest spoon in the box, to be on the receiving side of delivery and make it so she could blame it the first time he refused to sign something. Specifically telling him he should sign anything they receive, in the name of Mr. Peanut butter, then he send that lady to make him sign the fracking petition, with Todd now pressured to sign anything he receive or he would be scolded again.

She was with the fracking lobby the whole time and as Mr. PB was reluctant to go for it, she set things up for Todd to be guilted into signing it. Watch the episodes again, it's quite obvious.

Todd was specifically told to sign anything in the name of Mr. PB, and even got scolded for not doing the first time, when he refused to sign. You can hardly blame him for it.

>I would watch an entire season of Dendra and the plant teens doing stupid shit.

>and men are shit"
user, that is n't what the show is saying. Fuck, it even has a redemption arc for Dirk. Don't let your projections get in the way of enjoying a show.

>Tuca & Bertie just sort of flipped the table on you suddenly and expected you to give a shit.
I liked how her resentment of the beach in the first episode is actually a small hint of this bigger plot.

Did it seem odd to anyone else that there were just random titties everywhere? Not that I'm complaining.

>Fuck, it even has a redemption arc for Dirk.

They made it pretty obvious that Dirk was just pretending to have changed, user.

They didn't. They showed change don't magically get in and stay forever and you have to work on to keep your old habits in check.

At the end, Dirk is not only saved, but also in an happy relationship.

I guess it's like someone having plants everywhere. So plants collect bios. Turtles are low maintenance.

It's an "adult" comedy (on Netflix no less) so strong language and nudity are to be expected
And I'm not complaining about plant tits

Having some people being male doing bad stuffs in a story doesn't mean it's telling all men are shit.

It took me a bit of time to realise about Pete that, just because it's not sexual doesn't mean that physical abuse are okay.

Cooking industry is actually often poised with physical abuse, for male as well as female workers. And Dakota was right to not let it slide.

Attached: 0.gif (500x281, 1.2M)

He still fucked up, people still died and nobody called him out.

I wonder if the potatoes made them realise that men manspread not aggress but simply because holding the legg together i not comfortable (also testies need fresh).

>He still fucked up
No, the full responsibility is on the Ex-wife. When a worker follow the instruction of his boss and even get threatened when he refuse to comply, then the entire blame is on his superior that gave him those instructions.

Except he wasn't even a worker, he had nothing to lose by reading it and and was negligent with the responsibility he was given. Even if it was part of somebody elses machinations, he still fucked up.

>Except he wasn't even a worker,
HE was specifically requisitioned by Mr. PB's ex-wife to receive delivery and specifically tasked to sign things in his name and even scolded him when he refused to sign at first. Seriously, watch the episode again the ex-wife is at 100% at fault.

She hired Todd specifically to trick him into signing the petition. It was fully planned from the start.

Attached: D5q_WvsUwAAe_do.jpg large.jpg (1002x843, 91K)

It's still a significant character defect that resulted in at least 1 person dying yet still nobody cares. I really don't think the Nuremburg defense makes him innocent in the whole matter, since he just didn't bother thinking about what would happen with what he was doing, and had no reason to double-check what he was doing outside of maybe being told off, it's not like he had any stakes to lose in the situation, he just didn't want to be told off again. He still did something wrong, nobody ever called him out for it or asked him to be more careful with what he did in the future and the show just continued on as normal.

>It's still a significant character defect that resulted in at least 1 person dying yet still nobody cares
It's still on the ex-wife, not on Todd. Especially as, unlike Todd, she willingly set things up.
>I really don't think the Nuremburg defense makes him innocent
The Nuremberg defence does not work on Nuremberg because those soldier effectively pulled the triggers. All Todd did was sign a piece of paper that, in a only really convoluted way, lead to someone's death. He should not be hold responsible.

It's really doesn't make sense to hold responsible Todd for something no one could forsee the full ramification to, but as also coereced in doing so.

> since he just didn't bother thinking about what would happen with what he was doing,
Seeing that beforehand, he was actually reprimanded for doing so and guilt-tripped into fucking thingqs up because he took the time to think and was specifically told to just sign an not vare or everyone would blame him for everything, he can't really be put at fault.

>nobody ever called him out for it or asked him to be more careful
Because be"foreahnd, he was basically scolded for being careful. Like I said, he was fully manipulated. you can't blame Todd for that.

seriously, in a trial, if an accident caused by a worker was done because his boss threatened to fire him if he didn't do what he did, then the supervisor is fully at fault. In any prosecution, with any jury. I don't know why you insist so much to blame Todd on that one.

I like him too. He had passion and drove Bertie to be better. Then after giving her opportunity after opportunity he literally gets shit on for looking after his own business.

MUH VAGINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

It was nice to see that Bertie's workplace failures were on her, though they really made it just a small part of Bertie's Conde Nest problems.

I am a chick biologically/socially/every which way, but the sexual harassment line went over my head. For such a small, casually funny line, they really exaggerated it as if Dirk was slime. Really, forcing the entire office into a sexual harassment meeting? Just single out the offender & confront him. Escalate it if it continues.

I don't know why people only think about sexual harassment as the only thing that makes you uncomfortable in the workplace.

>>Chef does literally nothing wrong for the entire series
But he does, see (You)
He was at fault for physically abusing his employees. Even if it wasn't sexual, it was still wrong. You actually don't need to hold the head of your apprentice to observe the cooking. Just tell to look closer.

As for the corruption thing. it's just standard business practice. And not so out of character has he like to assert his dominance.

It wasn't really abusive, it was just kind of weird. It seemed like the sort of thing he would've done to an apprentice male or female. Twenty years ago, no one would've batted an eyelid over that sort of thing, because it's not really that big of a deal. He clearly just seemed autistically passionate about his career.

is it supposed to be annoying?

>It seemed like the sort of thing he would've done to an apprentice male or female.
Like I said, physically restraining someone against their will is not okay, male or female.
>. Twenty years ago, no one would've batted an eyelid over that sort of thing, because it's not really that big of a deal
it's not that it was less of a deal, it's just that your superior being more aggressive you was still consider okay, but that doesn't justify it.

Or the audience can just not be triggered cunts.

I don't think so, I like it.

He's Bojack's voice actor.

>I am a chick biologically/socially/every which way, but the sexual harassment line went over my head.
Implying that you might land a position by seducing the boss instead of your own skill can still be considered as an insult. It's also important that when you make a more riské joke to know your audience. when you make a joke that doesn't land, it's usually the fault of the joke teller, not the audience. I don't see why that would be different when it come to sex jokes.

Bertie has a background she is repressing, so of course, she will be less receptive to this kind of humor. When it comes to sex jokes, it's important to make sure you are among people who can take it the good way, or if you are a stand up comedian, make sure to inform about the kind of content you make so the audience is informed.

Unless the audience came on its own to see a show they knew would content sex joke, you can't blame someone for getting exposed to a joke that would land poorluy. Like I said, know your audience before going on the more riskée joke.

Also, Deathstroke.

When are you getting outcasted then?

You posted the same thing twice, you dumb fuck. lol
Also, people going to a stand-up comedy show need to be prepared for something as standard as a sex joke. Jesus, get the sand out of your vagina.

Samefag. I watched the first two episodes & was not amused. Boobs aren't funny to me. When flopping boobs appear on-screen, I cover my tablet with my hand. I don't wanna see that shit.

Bertie is okay, but Tuca is obnoxious as hell. I mean, I should have expected it from blactress Tiffany Haddish (I liked her in a recent Bob's Burgers episode) & from a character whose mouth is three-fourths of her body, but I was just expecting a wild, fun friend. Started watching the third episode, but lost interest when it was about a crush.

I do enjoy the weird cutaway animations such as the multi-headed flamingo & the clock.

Really wish they didn't have the plant people or snake subways. I would have preferred it if it shared the same universe as Bojack Horseman.

What is the point of the show exactly? If it's supposed to be wacky & fun, why bring in the boyfriend or any crushes or politics or anything serious? Maybe I still need to watch the entire thing, but so far it is a slog.

>You posted the same thing twice, you dumb fuck
I actually deleted the first post to repost it because there were some typo error. It's a quite common thing to do, here.

>Also, people going to a stand-up comedy show need to be prepared for something as standard as a sex joke
I actually said that the audience was at fault for being offended at stand up comedy.

>expecting female nignogs not to be obnoxious every second of their lives
The preview showing the nog actress using "Baby Daddy, baby daddy, child support, child support...." as vocal warm-ups should have warned you.

The 2 first episodes are the weakest, it get batter after that.

>there were some typo error
I have some bad news for you.

That's pretty funny actually. Is the show that aware of itself yet?

>Really wish they didn't have the plant people or snake subways. I would have preferred it if it shared the same universe as Bojack Horseman.

>Unless the audience came on its own to see a show they knew would content sex joke, you can't blame someone for getting exposed to a joke that would land poorluy
Your phrasing is implying that a good sex joke would land poorly because the audience wouldn't be coming expecting one.
English is obviously not your first language, so maybe run it past someone fluent in it nearby before posting.

No, I'm sure it's eyes, you're supposed to celebrate her as being proud and strong for having sex irresponsibly and being a leech off others and society in general.

>handle
Yeah because nonsense with zero thought behind it is completely mind-blowing.

>Your phrasing is implying that a good sex joke would land poorly because the audience wouldn't be coming expecting one.
It's not a matter of expectation, it's a matter of whether or not one can take it. When you go see a stand up comedian, you usually look into the kind of material they make beforehand.

Anyway, I specifically said that in the case of stand up comedian, it's the Audience's fault if they are offended.

My point as was about daily-life people making jokes. Anyone know that there are joke you can make with close friends you can't make with co-workers. Again, know your audience. And like I have said before, when someone make a joke that doens't land, the one at fault is the joker, not the audience. Why would that rule be different w

I suppose that is true that I wouldn't want my body or gender be what determines my step on the corporate ladder. I just would take such a line as a joke. Bertie didn't, but I do think she should speak up if Dirk is bothering her. Dirk is extroverted & probably presumes what he said was just a passing line.

>Bertie has a background she is repressing, so of course, she will be less receptive to this kind of humor. When it comes to sex jokes, it's important to make sure you are among people who can take it the good way, or if you are a stand up comedian, make sure to inform about the kind of content you make so the audience is informed.
Are you Lisa? If so, blink twice & congrats on the series.

I didn't even see it much as a sex joke. It wasn't like Dirk was intentionally trying to unnerve her, but he wasn't showing any interest in her either. Just an off comment to break some tension. If it bothers Bertie, Bertie needs to speak up to communicate her qualms. Expecting Dirk to own up is naive when Dirk doesn't know what he did was wrong (I'm probably not remembering the episode well). I guess what irritated me was how Tuca & Bertie handed out flyers for a sexual harassment meeting they made up like total bosses. That's not a boss thing to do. Why should I or for that matter anybody else sit through a sexual harassment review where every example of wrongdoing presented is so painfully obvious? Haven't we suffered enough? Can't we just work?

But that's not how you phrased it, regardless of what you meant to convey. Blame your poor English.

>or if you are a stand up comedian, make sure to inform about the kind of content you make so the audience is informed.

I can't even begin to imagine how much a comedian like that would fucking suck

Kiki rules

>but I do think she should speak up if Dirk is bothering her. Dirk is extroverted & probably presumes what he said was just a passing line.
She actually did, though. And it turned out other where uncomfortable with his way of acting and it resulted in him changing that. So in the end, she did the right thing for everyone.

I blame the audience.

Uuh ? user, how is a comedian supposed to advertise for his show if he does provide the kind of content his stand up is going to be about ?

"Go see my show. What is it about ? Won't tell !"

I've just been taking your word on the whole "Katrina organised everything!" thing, I've gone back and rewatched the episode and it doesn't seem like the fracking thing was somehow orchestrated by Katrina at all, in fact she seems upset that Todd carelessly signed the "I support fracking" thing and embroiled everyone in the whole fracking incident, if he was just more careful or thoughtful then it wouldn't have happened and would be somebody else's fault.

>All Todd did was sign a piece of paper that, in a only really convoluted way, lead to someone's death. He should not be hold responsible.
He was responsible for declaring Mr Peanutbutter to be pro-fracking, so everything that happened to do with fracking in the campaign was a result of that. Actions have consequences and those are the result of what Todd did, just because he didn't think about the consequences doesn't mean he holds no responsibility.

>guilt-tripped into fucking thingqs up because he took the time to think
That's not quite true, he was just told "sign anything you are given" (in the context of parcel delivery but whatever), so he just did exactly that, he didn't think critically about any of the implications of what he was doing and ended up pushing the whole campaign to pro-fracking out of negligence. Again, he definitely deserves blame for that.

>because his boss threatened to fire him if he didn't do what he did, then the supervisor is fully at fault
Yeah, but that's not what happened. Todd wasn't an employee, he was just a volounteer, he had nothing to gain or lose from what he did and the worst he got was a less than 5 second scolding. It's not like he was forced to do what he did, he just did it because someone told him to and other people had to pay the price. I mean, sure, some blame can go to Katrina for what she said, but Todd definitely deserves blame too and for him to be a main character of the show, I would have liked to see him get called out.

Samefag again. Just wanted to add Tuca made me more uncomfortable than Dirk. Dirk may be annoying & prone to risque comments, but Tuca is invasive. There's no boundaries she respects.

Seriously. It is up to the audience to be ready for some unflattering commentary when they watch a show. Do the research before you buy tickets.

Also, people need to be less sensitive. If it"s too hot for you, stay out of the kitchen.

By using snippets of their previous stuff or just going "Hey, I'm doing a show" and then the audience will either know who they are already or can look up stuff by them. That's just advertising not a trigger warning.

But a meeting at Bertie's level of experience with Dirk was unnecessary & likely a waste of everybody else's time & money. If Bertie couldn't confront Dirk herself, then it is time to tell a higher up that isn't the swan.

By word-of-mouth? You take it from somebody who you know that says he/she is funny.

What about the next season of bojack?

Is... That a new fetish? I shave on Sunday, so they may be prickly.

At least a pit pic is more inviting than a tit pic.

lol

I’m actually impressed that they’re able to simultaneously work on another BoJack season [that is likely still coming out a year after S5] while also making a whole new show. Many familiar names popped up in the credits, so I’m sure that both series share a lot of the same crew members.

>in fact she seems upset that Todd carelessly signed the "I support fracking" thing
She isn't. She is upset when he doesn't sign the first delivery. And it is later revealed she was supported by the fracking lobby the whole time.
S4E3, at 4:25 Todd outright say he Should not sign for someone else.
At 6:00 he get blamed for not signing the delivery And be told that and being told explicitly by the ex-wife that if he is asked for anythign to sign for Mr. PB, he has to sign it. The exact quote
"in the future if anyone ask you to sign Mr. PB's name, Just Sign it".
The blame is 100% on the ex-wife, especially as he got punished for doing the right thing first.
At 6:50 he is asked o sign a letter, and do exactly what he has been told to do.

In a later episode, it is revealed she was supported by fracking lobbies the whole time.

>he didn't think critically about any of the implications
1) he did think he got scolded for it.
2) no critical thinking could lead anyone to the conclusion it would cause the house to collapse.

> Todd wasn't an employee, he was just a volounteer
A volunteer to a campaign is stil tasked to do what the campaign organiser told them to do.

>That's just advertising not a trigger warning.
Good advertising usually inform the koind of content there will be. A good choice of snippet will usually reflect the kind of humor that will be used.

>By word-of-mouth? You take it from somebody who you know that says he/she is funny.
Hence ùy point that if the audience is offended by a stand up comedy, it's the audience fault for not informing themselves.

>(in the context of parcel delivery but whatever),
No, she literally said anything.

I like it.

Well, they are women.

>I don't understand the hate
Todd as a character is worthless after the second season, the asexuality plotline does nothing for him and whenever the show tries to pull some dramatic bullshit with him (which is rare) it turns out to be terrible what turned a lot of people against him is how he responded to Bojack fucking the girl he was too much of a pussy to go with despite her giving him all the chance to so so and the show acting as if all the blame lied on Bojack and not her or Todd for not being upfront with each other like adults. It just left a sour taste and most people's mouths and once again him coming out as asexual was unneeded because they didn't really explore it well enough for anyone to care and he was still the unimportant goofy side character with the retarded plotlines. The only reason why Todd isd still present despite nobody really liking him now iis due to his VA.

Pete stopped being a character the moment he did the smell thing with the younger apprentice, and became a cartoon villain more absurd than any talking plant or news paper reading Jaguar. People, especially aggressively self assured chefs (and I've worked with/known several) would definitely do something like the smell thing, and they would definitely defend their behavior. They wouldn't grab someone their hair and shove them against the wall to tell them they're nothing, because that's absolutely absurd. He became the big evil harassment man to act as a hurdle for the intrepid heroes, which is a thing that would be totally fine, except he did it while the show was trying to get "real".

Ironically Dirk, during an episode that was basically a silly office adventure, ended up being vastly more realistic and down to earth, during a time when they totally could have gone with the overblown, mustache twirling sexual assault artist.

I think the show needs more time to figure out how to do their "drama" episodes, because as it stands they just don't manage to find a balance in the absurdity and the grounded "big issues" like, say, Bojack does.

Welp, this joke was funny.

>Pete stopped being a character the moment he did the smell thing with the younger apprentice
>They would definitely do something like the smell thing, and they would definitely defend their behavior.
So you are saying he wasn't a cartoon villain when he grabbed the younger apprentice (Dakota)
>They wouldn't grab someone their hair and shove them against the wall to tell them they're nothing
So that's the actual moment he become a cartoon villain ?

But honestly, there can be sociopath who react badly when challenged. But I guess sociopath fll under the cartoon Villain category.

He didn't act like a sociopath up until that point. He acted like someone who didn't respect personal boundaries, which then became evil penguin man who thinks of other people as nothing but tools for him to use and abuse. There is a fucking chasm between those two things. Also, yeah, sociopathy is a pretty cartoonish concern, there are very few legit sociopaths in the world, and they're all smart enough to not act in that manner. Like if he stuck to the whole "you used me and then quit, how do you think that makes me feel?" the whole situation would ring more true, because the type of people who will grab a co-worker by the hair and call them worthless aren't the type of people ever able to hide what they are and get literally anywhere in life.

>and they're all smart enough to not act in that manner.
This is a common misconception, but Being a sociopath doesn't mean you are smart. Being able to BS your way out with not a single care means you can get a bit ahead, but it doesn't mean you are intelligent.

>because the type of people who will grab a co-worker by the hair and call them worthless aren't the type of people ever able to hide what they are and get literally anywhere in life.
There are people in position of authority who just never get people to go against their whim up until one say no and it can come quite late in their life.

In the cooking business, obeying to the chef and not discussing their order is more or less the case. It's not impossible to consider it was the first time someone spoke up to him to his face.

Practiced then. The point is, sociopaths hide that they're sociopaths, they're defined not by being belligerent aggravators, assuaging their egos with grand displays of dominance, but by just fucking people over when it suits them and defending themselves with BS excuses.

>When it comes to sex jokes, it's important to make sure you are among people who can take it the good way, or if you are a stand up comedian, make sure to inform about the kind of content you make so the audience is informed.

Are you seriously advocating that comedy comes with trigger warnings, you gibbering autist?

When the joke doesn't land, you usually don't blame the audience. Why would it be different for sex joke ?

Also, I have said repeatedly that if the audience get triggered to a stand up show, it's the audience's fault, because the kind of content there will be is usually advertised.

Anyway, I am more talking about joke done by random people. You definitely know the joke you do with your close friends, you don't do them with your co-workers.

Case in point, the Joke YOU, yes, you user, do on Yea Forums, when you reply to other anons, do you also use them with the members of your family, or with your boss ? or do you consider they would be out of place ? The same rule apply to crude jokes.

Like I have said, know your audience.

its good, but probably not for everyone

Pretty alright, but when it tries to really knock it out of the park in the last couple episodes, it ends up falling flat. I'm interested in watching another season though, should it happen.

Is this going to be another "Broad City" type of show?

Just turn off play next episode in your settings.

So Tuca is one of five kids. Do we know that they are full siblings or the mother was a ho? Also I guess the mother died after she crashed without a seatbelt & driving under the influence. Bertie was molested (or raped) by some lifeguard when she was younger which makes her sensitive to sexual situations. She doesn't seem to love Speckle & should really talk about her sex fantasies with Pete more. We don't know anything about Bertie's family. Also they made a gender is binary joke. I don't get how it was supposed to be funny or critical. Tuca is still annoying.

I do like how this show focuses more on average characters & not the petty unrelatable drama of Hollywoo. Animation was pretty fun.

It's not so bad, the humor can go from smart to completely cringe in an instant, though. I wasn't all that interested in it until the plant took her shirt off. My only true gripe is that the indoor backgrounds look like shit and the perspective is all off. I get what they were going for but it could only be executed by a person who actually knows how to draw.
That being said, I can't wait to see Tuca tits.

It definitely feels much stronger and sure of itself than Disenchantment.

The binary joke is one of the very few examples where it fits. It was just a "girls do girly things, because all girls like the girly stuff" joke, just told through the asinine language of "gender is a magical puff of pixie farts that applies to everything you want it to".

>liking it means you're right

Ya Yea Forums in general is pretty pozzed these days

Gave it a shot, after 4 episodes I bailed. The juvenile aspects of adult animation mixed with he juvenile aspects of children's animation. That's a bit nope from me.

It's.. not horrible, but yeah, no, not my thing. Way too silly, I much prefer bojack. This feels more like sausage party by comparison. I don't want to see a nicktoons show with boobs and sex references.

Have you considered that maybe these people hold those opinions because, to them, they are simply reacting to a world that they feel has treated them unfairly? Sometimes its hard to ask for help when you're so used to rejection - sometimes you need someone to reach out. Don't you think that maybe someone showing them understanding and compassion could help them to realize that the world isn't the way that they think it is? Because all you're doing with your approach is just reinforcing their mindset, you're just making the problem worse. In fact, you're the one hurting people, and it seems like you take some kind of pride in doing so - wouldn't that make you the hateful one?

sorry engrish is not my first language but does she want
a)She take the Yea Forums's feedback on her show(alternative opinion)

>lol fuck incels what a bunch of losers fuck them
>what do you mean I'm being hurtful?

That's a funny way to spell Ultra Sam

I would say a lot of the time, those sorts of people don't actually want help, and would lash out regardless. What they want is to confirm their own bias instead of taking responsibility for what is ultimately a problem created by and perpetuated by themselves. Instead of taking the hand that's tying to pull them out of the hole, they dig deeper in the hopes of dragging everyone else in with them.

I think it's one of those show where the humor is really made for women and if men find it funny, it's more of an accident.

>Man hating jerks.

The show clearly doesn't hate men and even make fun of some of the feminists.

I wasnt expecting to like Tuca so much, her animation is fun

Now im curious. Should I start with this show or watch Bojack in it's entirety beforehand?

It doesn't matter, those are completely unrealted show. you don't need to watch the Simpsons to start watching Disenchantment.

As Tuca&Bertie is only a 1 season of 10 episodes show, maybe it's easier to start with that.

Thanks user.

Can someone explain to me what the fuck is up with people who need to be alone in the toilets for pooping. It took me a while to understand the only reason the person on the phone was annoying was simply because she wouldn't leave.

I guess it's just sorta an intimate situation? Might have to do more with anxiety, I know people who cant poop at all beyond their house

No its really dogshit... its mostly shallow fluff and woke memes... just when you think some kind of depth is going to be extracted its resolved in the next 5 minutes... It also doesn't help that very few jokes actually hit the mark and the its just random for the sake of random. It had big shoes to fill and it didn't... it just kinda shit the bed.... I am on the last episode of season 1 and I don't even really want to bother finishing.

Some people are fucking loons, and expect the world to revolve around them being kind of nuts.

That... that can become inconvenient rather quickly...

Attached: hum.jpg (450x796, 73K)

you sure like dotdotdot dontchya

what got me was the music in the first episode

it was really annoying

Genuinely surprised me at how childlike it is for what's supposed to be an adult cartoon. I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just very silly.

Bertie was raped
Are you really apathetic or just pretending?

Getting diddled as a kid doesn't give you the right to be a special snowflake who everyone needs to psychically know your special toilet needs.

t. person who was diddled as a kid.

>doesn't give you the right to be a special snowflake who everyone needs to psychically know your special toilet needs.
That isn't what the show was going for, though.

>Bertie was raped
That's unrelated to the toilet thing. I mean, if she was raped in a toilet stale, I would understand, but that's not the case.

Never said it was. It's what the character wanted though.

Are you legitimately autistic or are emotional reactions stemming from trauma a foreign concept to you? Let me guess, you're going to end this conversation with some robotic one liner like "I guess women are all over-emotional".

What the fuck are you even talking about?

>It's what the character wanted though.
She didn't use her rape to justify her want.

No, but that's why she wanted it, at least according to which makes sense well enough. Literally the entire point of the episode was that she needed to stop expecting people to just instinctively know what she wanted, and then wallowing in impudent frustration when they didn't. She had to speak up and actually communicate with people.

Finally finished it. Awesome show, replaces BoJack's cynicism with a feeling of whimsy and optimism. As a result it doesn't hit as hard as Bojack, but episode 9 was still a roller coaster. Sad that the season was only 10 episodes.

Attached: 1512841595167.jpg (749x537, 40K)

>at least according to
But he is wrong. It wasn't due to the rape nor does she use it as a justification.

Okay, if that's the case it's just not relevant at all to what I said then. I never said anything about justification, I said she expected people to act how she wanted without ever even asking them, which is not only the point of the episode, but the main narrative example (her promotion) literally has Tucy pointing out that's how she's handling it.

This show is great. It shows how much Lisa had to tone down her style for BoJack. Glad she has something of her own now, it's wonderful.

>. I never said anything about justification
Welp, unless it was an other user, but >Getting diddled as a kid doesn't give you the right
was said.

Which was in response to who was suggesting that it's fine because she was raped. I was refuting user's justification, not the justification of the show or character, which explicitly doesn't justify her behavior.

I find it to be a breath of fresh air from most adult animation.

well, for a starter, it is an adult animation. there aren't that much of it.

Writers aren't allowed to have women be at fault for anything.
Female characters are more restricted under feminism than they ever were without.

>B-But Ronnie is ironic!

>>He is a bad guy
Bojack is presented as a nuanced character and many of his problem, he cause them.

>>Tuca and Bertie is about two womanchildren
Bertie actually behave like an adult, overall, having a job and trying to find herself.
>>Society is a bad guy
several time it is shown the characters are at fault and have to correct themselves.

You hate-goggle really clutter your objectivity, there.
