They're still pretty shit though. Like, Alfonso and Ferguson are nowhere near as bad, but the show and comics still had the sense to drop them like a bad habit after calling them out. Meanwhile the show acknowledges that Ponyhead is shit while still keeping her around.

Have Star stop being friends with her and then she becomes an annoying antagonist. She is clearly an awful friend and an awful person so justifying Star ending their friendship wouldn't be hard. If anything it could make for a good moral about not being afraid to cutoff relationships with bad people. If we're banned from her becoming any better of a person that's the only real way to have her character remain the same while serving a better purpose.
