>Joe Russo: It's a complicated plot for people to track — time travel. We were altering the rules of time travel in this movie and using multiverse time travel rules vs. Back to the Future rules that have really informed every time travel movie and television show since the release of that film. For us it was really about trying to get people to understand some of the time travel rules and how the plot was unfolding. It was only a few small things that we had to add to help alter people's perception of the storyline.
For those retards insisting it's a single timeline, you can shut up now.
How did Nebula 2014 brought Thanos 201r and 2014 army to 2023? She didn't have nearly enough Pym Particles for that and Thanos didn't have the tech that allowed to jump to the Quantum realm.
Why was everyone rushing to the van? I get that the idea was to send the Gauntlet back in time, but they didn't have Pym Particles. Reaching the van or not, they had no way to use it.
Why were there two Ant-Men in the final fight?
Aiden Baker
>She didn't have nearly enough Pym Particles for that and Thanos didn't have the tech that allowed to jump to the Quantum realm. In the QA, they pretty much no-prized it as "Thanos and Ebony Maw are really smart. They were able to reverse engineer it."
Kayden Rogers
>they didn't have Pym Particles They clearly did otherwise Scott and Hope wouldn't have been able to alter their size.
>Why were there two Ant-Men in the final fight? One of them was Pym.
Angel Scott
Shit-ass writers.
Jacob Allen
I've seen this movie three fucking times, where was the other antman?!
Benjamin Green
I mean, I kind of figured that's what was happening when she handed it over to Thanos. Thankfully he brought his entire legion with him to die so no one can exploit it in the past.
Evan Watson
>Back to the Future rules that have really informed every time travel movie and television show since the release of that film. yikes, fucking plebs
Brandon Myers
Even if he went back in time, wouldn't the super soldier serum have slowed Cap's aging down considerably?
Isaiah Walker
>Literally a space wizard did it
David Myers
Apparently you can see one in the background while Scott's in the van.
James Peterson
He's almost a hundred years old by the time he's sitting on the bench.
Anthony Bennett
>Caps going back and spending a nice life with Peggy could be summarized as him laying low and not fucking with the time stream >This would fall in line with there being future self not interfering with his past self >Get dumb shit like "it's different time line" Good movie. But still.
Benjamin Rodriguez
I don't think the movie has a shot where you can see two Ant-Men at the same time. However, about half a minute after Scott gets into the van and starts working on it, Giant-Man appears in the background of a fight scene.
Jonathan Nelson
they literally used dragon ball time travel
Cameron Sanders
>you have to damage control on social media to patch your shitty teenager movie writing Of course the mouse slaves eat it up. they always do.
Oliver Davis
>Why was everyone rushing to the van? Why didn't Carol just take the gauntlet straight up into space and let Wanda go back to mind crushing Thanos?
Julian Taylor
>For those retards insisting it's a single timeline, you can shut up now. Hey retard you know the multiverse timeline has tons of plot holes too, right?
Brandon Hernandez
>Going to the past doesn't affect your future, but it alters the past timeline you went to Yep, sounds about right.
William Peterson
The weird thing is that Multiverse time travel was done in Dragon Ball Z, it's probably the most well-known version of it. So I don't know why so many were confused
Gabriel Fisher
>they didn’t have enough Pym Particles >”You’re only a genius here on Earth.” That line alone should have been enough for you to figure out that space science is vastly superior to earth science.
Where the fuck did Gamora go? Did I miss something?
Carson Ramirez
Dusted along with everyone else from 2014
Easton Sullivan
Because it's not the most well-known version of it. The most well-known version is the type that crops up in all the time travel movies Rhodey and Scott list.
Connor King
Probably not. She had no reason to stick around. Finding her will most likely be integral to the plot of GOTG 3.
Dominic Martinez
>Hey retard you know the multiverse timeline has tons of plot holes too, right? not really
Ayden Thompson
I mean the most well known version of multiverse theory time travel
Oliver Richardson
I just hope the time travel shit develops into a nice set up for Kang.
Alexander Torres
>confirming that Cap fucked over the other Cap and stole his woman
Yikes
Lincoln Robinson
It's the exact same rules as Cell Saga time travel.
It is a fairly easy to follow plot if you just say >Every time they jump to the past they are creating an alternate timeline >Steve returns the stones to not the past, but those different timelines that lost a stone or two for as long as the main timeline avengers were fighting 2014 Thanos
You can get into questions of the morality of returning the stones to those timelines. You can question how Steve returns those stones since many had events around them changed including the form of the stones themselves. You can question the flow of time in alternate timelines relative to the main timeline. The function of the return platform as not just a return platform, but also a gateway.
The biggest problem is that Steve sitting on the bench implies he actually went into the past of the main timeline and then experienced time naturally until the present. It made it look like they wanted both Dragon Ball Super rules and Back to the Future rules. The official statement is that Cap lived in an alternate timeline and returned to the main timeline after decades with an alternate timeline Peggy. The problems with that are >The importance of the return platform/gateway is just thrown away. >The way Hulk could forcefully bring someone back like he did with Barton is also seemingly thrown away >The implication becomes that time in the alternate timelines does not flow at the same pace as the main timeline making time completely relative which in and of itself makes returning the stones completely meaningless
The way to do it is Cap returning the stones. He comes back, tells them he did it, gives Sam his shield, says goodbye and goes to his own dream timeline with Peggy and never comes back.
>Multiverse time travel was done in Dragon Ball Z, it's probably the most well-known version of it. Believe it or not, as popular as DBZ is, that’s not the most popular well-known version of time travel. Tons more people have seen Back to the Future than DBZ.
Angel Smith
You don't have to, it literally is the same thing
Blake Morgan
The question I have is how do you give back the soul stone? Do you just hand it back to Red Skull and leave?
Andrew Myers
...
Joseph Carter
Back to the Future did irreparable damage to the public perception of time-travel.
Xavier Powell
Yes. Russos addressed that's basically what happened
Owen Young
Branching realities time travel could work great for Kang. He comes from one future that he was a nobody on, then uses time travel to create realities in which he rules unopposed.
Brayden Hill
Undoubtedly. I’ve always thought “It wouldn’t work like that” when I saw Marty slowly disappearing.
