No, this is.

Are casuals ever going to lurk more?

How do you go from Roger Stone and Ann Nocenti to this?

I don't get it

I think people have forgotten lower lows than this stuff. There's a goldmine of fresh hell that existed before the internet.

I wanna titfuck Mockingbird while she's wearing the shirt.

go lower

It's close

Why does Mark Millar insert his cheating fetish into all of his work? It honestly comes off as quite creepy.

This is hard to top, to be honest.

>defending this

Are people who got into Marvel post 2015 gonna post more stupid shit? Lets tune in and watch.

Like is the shirt pulled up, or she just squeezing dem tiddies on ya through it?

See, the real bad stuff is the shit we mostly pretend never happened.

because Morrisonfags are cucks

This was the highlight of 2017 for me
How is this 2 years old now?

I'm open to both, though I was picturing the latter in my head.

Not even close.

>B-buh morrison
The state of Millar shills

Wasn't it his book that got cancelled and Marvel told the writer not to make a big deal out of it, but she did anyways and then got blacklisted?

No one is "defending" it, just calling out people who think this is even close to the worst Marvel has done as the casuals they are, when you had such highs as Jemas literally calling his readers basement dwelling manchildren, creating Marville as a fuck you to Peter David saying readers were too stupid for longterm storytelling, and Wacker attacking people on forums for criticizing Marvel.

And honestly the Mockingbird thing is really funny, it's basically exactly the same as the Anita situation in vidya, it was done specifically as a move by a hack to victimize herself, all people had to do was ignore it, yet instead they gave her the outrage and vitriol she was baiting for, making it look like her book failed because of incels attacking her rather than because it was just shit.

No, retards going apeshit over this book got her a ton of attention and support despite no one caring about it before. This got her a job of writing a Vision series to follow-up Tom King's, but that was the one that got cancelled, causing HER to go apeshit and basically giving up any chance to work with Marvel again.

I would say the 90s where a ton of Marvel's shit business practices that almost killed the industry and we still haven't recovered from to this day is the lowest they've ever gotten.

I'd rather clean my dick with it.

No, wasn't that her Vision book, that was cancelled before shipping?

Which I can understand being pissed about depending on how much was done, but this shit apparently happens pretty often. Normally just not after the book is announced.

Whiny feminist, the worst marvel has ever been.
- Not Bendis guardians
-not that awful cgi war machine comic
- not peter parker and the radioactive jizz
- Not Land tracing porn and other peoples art
-Not fucking Liefeld

holy shit read some comics you fucking casual.

This is peak Marvel. Need more of this and less of whatever the fuck is happening to the brand now.

>causing HER to go apeshit and basically giving up any chance to work with Marvel again.
yeah. that's what I was referring to

Just a reminder that a feminist turned a rape victim into a cheater...

I kinda wish her feminism shirt was an outfit in some of the current mobile games, or for anything else she'll appear in from now on. It was kinda too much for a solo book (especially one with sort of an unclear focus like that) but just as a character trait, it would make her stand out in a team book.

Is there a reason the casuals are making threads about this today?

Trust me, I know.

It wasn't so much feminism as much as the most blatant rookie mistake possible. You don't retcon something unless you have a reason to, and retconning Bobbi into just wanting to fuck a cowboy changes a lot... like making her a murderer instead of arguably justified in letting her rapist die.

If Perlmutter didn't fire all the editors a decade ago, this probably wouldn't have happened.

Attached: Phantom Rider II GOT TRICKED.jpg (600x588, 353K)

Also, it would have been easier to retcon it to never escalating to rape, or just pretending it never happened (it was part of a stupid time travel adventure in WCA afterall), than what Cain went with. And it was a "Civil War 2 tie-in!" that didn't relate to CW2, and the bait was info for Clint's trial (which was revealed as not guilty weeks before the Mockingbird issues came out).

Fuck OP's casual ass for bringing this up again, but if anyone wants to brainstorm better ways to retcon this, have at it.

This would work significantly better if it was a thought bubble/caption.

JUST

Wait until ABC decides to bring her back on an episode of Agents of Shield and she has the shirt on. Then we'll see the outcry.

Is it bad I want Gabby to get more work because I still got more entertainment out of reading her terrible comics than I do out of most present day Marvel output? It really was The Room of comics.

>This was calling the male narrative out. My point was to explore and comment on how female characters, their kind of emotional lives aren’t represented… What if, in fact, she went willingly? What if she just cheated on Hawkeye? What if this ridiculous story, of this grown woman being kidnapped and drugged and held for months, is just a story that a jilted lover tells himself?

Amazing that someone came up with this and thought it was clever.

That's fucking horrific.

I mean, the whole concept is horrific. Is she literally saying that women CAN'T be kidnapped and drugged for months?

She was lucky she's a female writer, this is basically Ms Marvel rape but without the retcon that saved the character.

>using this on an ad
It’s like they’re trying to tell people not to buy their shitty mobile app

Aw man, I liked phantom rider.

I'd rather clean my dick with her fucking mouth, bro

Says it all, really.

Attached: Mr Misogyny.jpg (645x939, 194K)

The alternative is some writer's rape fantasy as an integral part of her backstory. I would've done something too.

Is it really a rape fantasy? Phantom Rider is depicted as creepy and pathetic, and Mockingbird is clearly disturbed as all hell.

You know what's a rape fantasy? Ms. Marvel's time-travelling rapist son.

this is ironically good as a romance comic. virgins will never understand it

>Is it really a rape fantasy?
Yes. I tend to attribute the writing to the writers, not the fictional characters. Dr. Light raping Sue is just as jarring, and I don't blame a single writer for not bringing it up besides a really crass joke. The appaling case here is that people NEED Mockingbird to be raped for months, because"character development".

Was anything wrong with Reign otherwise? I though it was fun, if a bit edgy.

But then this happened, Cain! You didn't make it so THIS PART went away!

Honestly, the whole "raped by a cowboy" story WAS RETARDED, and probably should be retconned. But retcon it BETTER. Unless we're leaning into "Bobbi murders people she's done with", which would be bold as Hell, for sure.

Attached: mockingbird-raped-by-phantom-rider-who-she-lets-fall-to-his-death-photo-u1.jpg (600x300, 39K)

It's only Phantom Rider II. Phantom Rider I never raped anyone.

It actually wasn't, since the characters were so underdeveloped. I've read romance books with better characters in 16 page than that did in... however many issues.

I also missed the storytimes mi gente.

Is there a text-free edit of her shirt or variations of it?

Alright, what about your feminist agenda?

Anyone who honestly cared, cared like four years ago.

People still bothered enough to shop it now are probably casuals who just heard about the comic.

>casuals who just heard about the comic.
...just like me

It was... meh. Like if you want the WORST of it, just read issue 3, I think. That's the one where nothing makes sense at all.

Everything else is just sorta slow trying to be quirky. Honestly, the last arc probably hit the tone it was going for, but the retcon for Phantom Rider is just so damn stupid that is takes an old stupid story and shoves it back in your face. So barring issue 3, none of it bad enough to be overall entertaining, I don't think the issue with the infamous cover even had anything particular going on in it.

Which sucks, they should have leaned into it.

>you will never be so blue balled you start monologuing.

I see we haven't met.

The first two issues of this run were alright. It had legitimate potential.

Wait, this is the same Mockingbird? Clint and Peter are pussybros?

Yes, I do believe they share that beautiful bond you describe.

>- Not Land tracing porn and other peoples art
Fuck I forgot about that. I blame Land for single handedly destroying so many good Ultimate books with his shitty art

>I tend to attribute the writing to the writers, not the fictional characters.
So the existence of rape in the story, vis a vis, proves the intention of a rape fantasy, because only a writer with a rape fantasy would imagine rape occurring in a canonical story. Got it.

That's so weird, they're nearly 20 years apart.

>ugh you're just against rape in fiction
I'm against the constant glorification of muh tragic backstories that are, most of the time, blatant rape exploitation for the sake of it. See, even in your generic strawmanning fashion you had to reduce the act, since she wasn't just raped and that was it. You deliberately minimize the event because some part of you understands how over the top serial rape on top of kidnapping sounds like (this happened to a superhero, mind you).

It's edgy when Millar does it. It's edgy when Simone does it. It's absurdly edgy when it happens to one of Spidey's upbeat buddies.

Maybe her "FEMINIST AGENDA" is a plan to suck my dick?

No I'm pretty sure it's just blaming men for all of her problems instead of her own incompetence. Also being the most privileged, entitled, well-looked after people in the history of all humanity but still thinking you're oppressed.

it was pathedic how gabby thought of herself.

I like how this shirt has become a joke in universe.

>ends with convincing a man that his borther's son is really his even though he can't have kid

Go on. defend this.

this, when they started letting Leifeld 'write' comics it became a low point

there is a place and time for rape stories. When I read classic epics or classic comedies, I can know when they were created and also know where they came from. If some god rapes a woman to create the world I think that is good storytelling. If someone replicates that using that as a narrative that can be good. Sure, it is probably overused slightly, but I think people are going to single stories rather than talking about the ongoing character. Was Captain Marvel ruined by Avengers 200? not really, though it was a bad story. and many bad stories exist in Big 2 continuity

Marvel's shitty business practices don't tend to explain their shitty SJW stories.

I'm virgin and I understood it.

Don't forget the books written by Pak and Gillen.

>I'm against the constant glorification of muh tragic backstories that are, most of the time, blatant rape exploitation for the sake of it.
No, I don't believe you. Not when you lead with
>I tend to attribute the writing to the writers, not the fictional characters.
You can contort any narrative you want into "muh rape exploitation" if you've already assumed that's what a writer will do, so there's no sense in allowing your argument the benefit of good faith.

Besides, the question was "is it a rape fantasy", not "is it rape exploitation". Good job moving the goalposts immediately when contested.

It only counts if you say it out loud.
