watch Garden State. it was like one of the first, and it's one of the few enjoyable "offbeat quirky coming of age" indie films. you might just like it

never seen any of those. it's got Zach Braff (he wrote and directed it), Natalie Portman and based Peter Sarsgaard tho. he plays an actor whose been told he's fucked up in the head his whole life that goes back to his hometown for his dad's (who was a prominent psychiatrist and pushed the idea that he was fucked up) funeral. reconnects with old friends and meets a young qt who is going through similar shit. they go on a journey to help Zach find himself and believe me, the hijinks DO ENSUE.
